My mom worked with a deaf woman and everyone else used to ignore her. My mom bought a ASL book and learned to sign and would of course write notes back and forth constantly with her
The Baby is hilarious and smart....she may feel like how the Guest felt with his Hearing friends! And she knew they were communicating and being left out....talking to her spiritual friends

This was cool. This video was really cool. Frankie you treated him exactly as this Deaf man communicated to you. You were kind to him, interested in learning about his culture, compassionate and patient. Let me tell you-the world at large could use a lot of patience. The world can also use more love, too. This is so awesome that you were able to come back & film in the store.😊 I remember the manager giving you grief the first time you asked to interview J.R. inside the store. But a question for you Frankie: was it difficult for you learning to speak growing up having deaf parents? Were you thought of as being delayed or spoke later because of this? Very curious to hear your response. 🤔
Hey this is a really good question thank you for asking. In my case no I did not because I grew up in a multi family household so my other family members were pretty hands on with speaking with us. However, many of my family friends who are dead and have children also experience speech development problems and speaking issues. My little sister I believe might have experienced this but I honestly don’t know if her speech impediments can be traced back to our deaf parents.
@@frankieslight Oh ok. Its good that you had other family members to help you develop to speak. I can only imagine how many children of deaf parents are misdiagnosed as "slow" of delayed simply because the parents may be deaf & not speaking at home. Thanks for responding!👍🏾

This is a great video. I have a friend who is hearing impaired. Her hearing has improved some over time, but she does have hearing aids. Her father is profoundly deaf. It's good to see someone advocating for the deaf community.

I am a fully hearing person who has been self-taught ASL over 10 years ago. (Although I am Canadian, English is English- right? Even in "A"SL)
Sadly I do not have the resources here to use Sign Language & communicate as much as I used to. I am ALWAYS looking for new friends ;) I TRULY miss conversing in ASL & wished I kept it going longer............

I'm always excited when people sign with me and are learning the language. Are you learning any other sign languages? I'm trying to learn some BSL (British Sign Language). Would love to meet polyglots who work with signed languages more so.
