As much as I hate what Respawn is doing with Apex, you are just wrong. As we speak, Finals has 3 times less players online. The Finals has been out for almost a month, not a week. Apex still tops Finals in Twitch views even none of the big streamers are live.@@Boscolito

I think the finals definitely has potential, not just another battle Royale. It feels fresh and running away from a heavy with a sledgehammer is the most terrifying thing 😂

Stopped playing Apex a while ago for several reasons and I was really hoping The Finals could fill that gap. Gotta say tho this game is a little to hectic even for me. Maybe I'm getting old, idk.
I'm glad so many people enjoy it tho.
For me the sheer chaos is what makes it so addictive
It can get result frustrating because everything is behind a pay wall. Also, your teammates have to be really good. Else, you're sitting ducks
@@sei-zero Nothing but cosmetics are pay walled. I am old, 40s and I think the game is hectic, but that is what makes it so fun. Losing is even fun at times, just don't get too sweaty kids...
Honestly, I hope The Finals does kill Apex. Apex has been in such a shit state for so long it'll either kill the game or force the devs to actually do something to keep the community. Either option sends a message to EA and Respawn.
You're assuming that a significant amount of the apex playerbase does move to the finals, which they haven't.
@@sphrcl. I'm not assuming that everyone ditches apex for the Finals, I'm just saying that the Finals is yet another reason to stop playing apex. Many people have given up on it due to shit metas, servers, audio or stale content. When a better movement shooter comes out, why keep playing the same shit game? And yeah, not everyone is dropping it, but twitch viewership is lower than ever and the Apex playerbase in general is sick of the 200$ cosmetics, leading to the lowest player numbers we've seen in a hot minute.

for me, i think Apex rn is in the place of CSGO before Valorant releashed - it has no real competitors so the game turn to milking the community, but then Valorant appeared and CSGO have to update the game or lose the playerbase. In the moment, I just want Respawn and EA see The Finals as a true competitor of Apex, to understand that they have to improve their own game or see it dying slowly
I dont want any game kills other game, i want the finals make great updates and give it contente to grow and maintein their playerbase, but Apex is killing itself. Apex needs to fix a lot of things and do great updates.
I do like how the finals finds a way to encompass virtually every single arcade-y playstyle. No aim? No problem. Can’t win fights? Still no problem as long as you can sneak objectives. It’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea but it for sure accommodates far more play styles than any other shooter currently on the market (I would say OW is a close second)

I know Twitch isnt the only way to monitor how well a game is doing but to put it into perspective on how good Apex used to be, it would ALWAYS be Top 10 mainly top 8-5 most watched games on twitch but as of 2024 its at #90 and its peak viewership on twitch is 57k when it used to be 250-400k +😅😂. It used to make Top 10 games in anything and now it struggles to even hit Top 20 most Streamed/Watched/played.

@@TheN2pster no they're not, maybe some are but majority of people are just not playing the game or quit because lack of things in the game like QOL CHANGES or well needed updates/Fixes which in turn mean less viewers interested in the stale game state.

I've read alot of comments about viewership drop and half of those are filled with same thing. And alot of my friends taking break from apex due the controller meta.

This game is super fun, but I'm already over it and back to playing Apex, at least until The Finals gets more content and modes etc. Apex movement and gunplay is way too addicting to even pretend that The Finals is better in that regard.
Yup. I’m in this camp. I just like the way the movement and muscle memory feels in apex Finals doesn’t quite scratch the same itch
yeah it doesn’t scratch the same itch, but does it need too? The Finals is its own game and it’s pointless comparing it to apex. The movement and gunplay are good in their own right. The Finals won’t kill Apex, but it will form its large and growing community over time, especially when it starts to add content which we haven’t had the time for it to add yet.

Everyone is having fun playing it at the moment. Just depends on what they can do with cheaters & content to keep the engagement and joy. The Battlepass probably needs improving also.

So the finals is boring to watch, but fun to play. Where apex is almost insufferable to play (especially solo) ATM, but fun to watch good streamers play it. Apex is in a very odd place rn, and it won't get better until they fix their servers and matchmaking imo
I mean if you check rn apex has like 3x more players than the finals. Its peaks aren’t nearly as high and it’s slowly losing players after its initial hype died down. Apex event next week will grab a massive number of players.

I think it's more fun to play than to look at a stream or like this. Apex is nicer to watch at least for me that is.

As much as I hate Apex in it's current state, and as a day 1 player you are over-exaggerating. People have been saying that for 4 years now. 150K players online as we speak. It's not going anywhere anytime soon. Personally I haven't touched Apex since the Finals dropped, but within couple of weeks I see same people that cried about Apex matchmaking and ranked system now crying in Finals Discord and Reddit about basically everything :D

The game has become a soulless shell of what it was. Over priced collection events dropping every other day yet there have been game altering bugs in the game for literal years that Respawn/EA has just refused to address. The reality is that the game has been in a terrible state for far too long, and the glaring issues have been ignored because EA is cashing out.
The Finals is incredibly fun, but it's also nowhere near as polished as Apex and is a buggy mess in it's own right...but the fact that so many Apex players have pretty much jumped shark for The Finals should tell you something about the attitude that people have towards Apex at this point...people are over it.

Played apex since it dropped, I downloaded this game only only because on apex I can’t ever get past the load up screen unless I restart my Xbox like 2x . It’s annoying to the point where I jus started playing the finals, and the game Is super dope
I am 45 years old. I have been playing computer games since the first game was produced. It may be better than Apex Legends in the future, but it doesn't seem possible these days. Because "Apex legends" has the right foundations to become a classic. The art direction is also a very accurate game. The finals is also a good game. Just a good game.
I just know pc steam numbers. Apex still has 100,000 more players everyday. The finals are losing around 4,000-5,000 players everyday. I used to play both games and I don’t play either game anymore so I can’t be biased.

never played apex. almost 2 days played already in the finals. had a 2.77 in warzone. the finals gets me high!!! i get the kills while playing the objective. i run heavy, with 2 mediums. we slayyyyyyyyyyy. from tbe sounds of these comments apex killed themselves
i prefer the ak over scar, is there a reason to not use ak at all? i’ve rarely seen any pros with the ak
health bar's for the enemy & team are so useful i havnt played apex in a month or more i well they the event out though

Apex isnt casual or fun anymore. Taking fights is not incentivised, passive slow play is rewarded. So much movement tech that people dont use

So many people in denial haha. Nah Apex will never "die", but it did indeed take wayyyyy too long to fix its issues and now another fresh game has come out. The game is more fun than Apex right now and I'm a day one player that has over 10k hours in Apex. I havent touched it since The Finals released.

No it wont, they are different markets, yes some players will move over, but for the most people who like BR's will stick with Apex. I prefer the Finals by a large margin myself, but Apex is its own game.

The finals is too repetitive and has little room for growth due to how it was made. Apex has room for growth the problem is if it will grow or not.

Yeah lol if you look at the steam numbers apex has around 100,000 more people who play everyday compared to apex. The finals is also losing around 4-5k people everyday. I respect both games but if apex is dying then the finals is really dying.

Have only played the Finals for about a week and sadly already getting bored of it. Compared to Apex, it is far more linear. I’m a huge fan of the high ttk in Apex and the wide-array of abilities which can help skilled players (not me, but one can aspire) find their way through a 2v1 or even 3v1 situation. The Finals, if you run into a team of 2 or 3 you’re almost certainly done for… and that’s not even accounting for the constant third parties. Battle royales have taken over the gaming industry for a reason. Games like the Finals are a welcomed breathe of fresh air, but I’d argue the staying power of the Finals is not there
