Class, pure class. My Grandfather raised me on Sinatra, and Nat King Cole, Ella, Lady Day-this song makes me think of him. Sinatra doesn’t just sing, he makes you FEEL the song. Absolutely incredible and beautiful. I can close my eyes and smell his cologne and picture being a kid again. Love never dies, it just goes on a heavenly vacation, until we reunite and never are separated again. Thank goodness we have his music, which will remain timeless, just like the love we have for the special family and those we love 🧡
I am almost 70 n I am a SINATRA person since 12 n I listen to him every day, with the hard times were going through listening to his songs it makes these days a lot easier,I hope you all agree,🇺🇸🇮🇹🙏😇We love n miss you MR SINATRA
Oscar Hammerstein passed six years prior to this recording. Richard Rodgers however, was still with us. I hope he had the pleasure of hearing what one musical genius could bring to another's efforts. All of Mr. Rodgers songs have been recorded hundreds of times and deservedly so and this one is no exception. Many virtuosos with stronger voices than that of Mr. S have taken a shot at this one. But were they able to capture the essence of the lyric as he does here? Not to my ear, most were too busy showing off their vocal prowess while neglecting whatever interpretive skills they may have had. This is absolutely sublime. How is it that all these years have passed and still, no one even comes close?

Beautiful and touching , it was so perfect . My eyes well up with tears watching this . This makes me think of my own daughter , who is a rebellious promiscuous twenty year old. In spite of her life style I remember when she was Younger than Springtime. Life is very fleeting and watching Frank sing this makes me realize what a magnificent treasure this performance was.
God,how good was that. Perfection in the singing & the backing musicians. This will never be equalled in all times. Frank could make you cry with his singing, especially on the ballads. Amazing sounds & so,so good!
There will never ever be another like Frank Sinatra! The man could do it all! This is from a 1967 made for tv movie called "Movin' With Nancy". Not a bad flick actualy.
It's called Old School. Sinatra hated headphones. He needed to be there, with the musicians, sometimes off to the side but never in a sound booth. He was a vocalist of significance and that's how he worked. The CBS profile of him and hundreds of photos show that's how he and a LOT of other musicians worked. Old School. Even Harry Nilsson gave it a try when he recorded with Gordon Jenkins in the 1970s.
@@SafaAlkan Ah, "Watertown" - a baffling, experimental, neglected masterpiece. It was Sinatra leaving his comfort zone and going face-to-face with singing new music to prerecorded tracks. He was planning a television special based on the album's plot. The album didn't produce a hit song and didn't even break into Billboard's top 100. So, no television special. Sinatra announced his (short) retirement a year or so later. I love that album. The original LP came with a poster because that was what everyone was doing, back then. 🐧
@@story_by_nila His "Duets" albums worked better because Sinatra was excited by the idea of it, of doing collaborations with other singers without having to drag everyone into the studio. Also, it worked like a charm.
I just noticed how this was produced so that Nancy walked in as Frank sang "...sunlight and moonbeams..." (Frank would sometimes call Nancy "Moonbeam" on his radio show, and she's dressed in yellow here).
sinatrafann66 thanks so much. This recording is difficult to get. It is actually on a Nancy Sinatra cd which says she has a special guest who is her father. Nancy Sinatra had a show and Frank sang this song on the show; but I remember hearing" Whoever does not like this does not like sweet apples". This is just one of many songs from South Pacific which will be around forever.
@Jamesmac30 ...This is from a variety show that Nancy Sinatra had in the late 60's.......You can buy it.....It's called "Movin With Nancy"........If you like vintage, it's great , it includes Sammy Davis Jr too, and all the original commercials too
Lee Hazelwood I can see (at very start) but is the "Billy" he speaks to Billy May?? Or someone else? Anyone help me? Whatever, this is fantastic and many thanks for uploading.
@@JasonG146 Thank u jasong yes I looked him up and it is Billy Strange as u say. Billy had a great career and worked with many of the greats incl Spector, Sinatras and Presley and the Beach Boys. A sort of unknown great (at least here in the UK)
James McEwan I got the CD it’s called Swinging with Nancy her Father is Special guest a long with Dean hard to get but I got there in the end. Managed to get a new one
It was his guest spot on HER special, "Movin' with Nancy" in 1967. Also, seems like a perfectly lovely and genuine connection between father and daughter. I don't see any fake fawning here!
How can anyone find any kind of a mistake in this video?it's FRANK at his best,n i have a lot more videos as good 👍in my private collection, I can watch n listen to MR SINATRA all day.😉🇺🇸🇮🇹
Like how he is smoking a cigarette while performing. The man's voice is pure GOLD.

He used headphones in the la is my lady album in 1984. Also in Watertown album he recorded his voice not with the orchestra
He had to use it as time progreesed. In the live Mack the knife recording he reluctantly used it then threw it after the recording.
