The explanation was clear and percised, however, the keys on the bottom were not seen while talking through it and you did not show the Vertical 6 Knobs or its Functions.
I was really hoping you would include a link to the editor software because their website is like the US government, a maze of dead-ends and broken promises.

I'm having trouble understanding the note repeat function. I just want to play a beat and then have it repeat, so I don't have to finger drum the entire song.
note repeat just repeat note that you play at that time.ex : you hit HiHat and NR,so it just repeat hihat when you press it at once.and it will stop when you release hihat note or NR button.if you want to make your drum playing in loop,you need to learn how to do it in your DAW ..btw,what DAW did you use?
@@badhival3779 as good as Logic Pro x is (I use it myself to make music) I recommend trying to get your hands on Ableton 10 live, I use the free version and it is very easy to use, u can drag ur logic sounds into Ableton and through that u can map it to your midi controller, like I said logic is great but is more for creating music and not for remapping drums for live preforming

That was a ton of information however, can you explain how to change the sounds of the pads? The factory setup is not in my opinion user friendly for a drummer. I can’t find anywhere how to change pad 1 to a kick, pad 2 to a snare etc. thanks

Looking to get a drum pad for streaming. Do all these pads use software or is there one I can just use as an instrument especially with adding samples. Or does this work without the software

Wow this is so not user friendly! It'd be great if the pads correlated to the samples in ableton's drum rack but that would make too much sense. My MPK249 and Launchpad both map automatically....my apc key 25 and the mpd218 don't which sucks for doing drums on the road cuz those are my travel controllers
you can make MPD218 match Ableton's drum rack in the MPD218 preset editor. It's a good way to start using that drum rack. Ultimately, that's not necessary. Anyone using those drum racks regularly is going to want something different or several different presets.
@@jaydavee actually I fixed it by holding down the program select and selecting pad 4. It has different mappings for different daws, but it should default to the ableton preset if akai was staying consistent with their other controllers...Thanks reddit forum
I setup it up in Fl Studio. It worked like a charm. A few days later, once I press the pads, there is no sound coming off of the FPC although the AKAI is mapped. Any ideas?
I have a fantasy that whoever created this editor was taken out back and slowly beaten to death. This is easily the worst editor ever designed and after three hours of trying to map to EZ Drummer 2 it still wont work. It is infuriating and if even one person does not buy an AKAI product then I will have made the world a better place! PS - This is the best video for this horrible product. Thank you for trying to help!
Who cares about all that irrelevant stuff described in this video, I just wanted to see & hear you play drums on the pads to see how sensitive they are, and of course to hear what you think about the pads.
This pad is just a toy that makes electronic noises when you press the pads. All the sounds are already in the 'demo' part of it. I don't see how you can create anything original with this thing.
