- I was asked how to best aim a paintball marker so I wanted to revisit this. Along with the proper way to aim I go over how to do a drill to help you even be more deadly on the field!
This is a skill that is absolutely essential to getting correct. Without being accurate you are a sitting duck!

@@assaultrust1519 it went good the first day i wasn’t wearing a cup and saw a guy get shot in the private so i left cause i got scared lol then i went again the next day with a cup and dominated

I needed this! I Just got into paintball 3 months ago and I’m fully addicted to the sport! I got all my gear and I have my color layouts planned out for when I cop my jerseys. I just want to sharpen my skills as a shooter and to have better field vision, I feel I’m pretty athletic so if I round off all those skills it would be cool. It’s just funny when I go to the field people find me to know a lot about the sport but I’m very new to the sport. I’m very lucky to able to be under payment plan for this paintball hobby, stuff is a pretty penny but SO WORTH IT🙏🙏 Zach FW, 22

It's the exact same technique we use in archery for traditional bows called instinctual shooting.

Ive gone paintballing 2 times and am going my 3rd time soon. What I did last time is I found an angle and used it ad an iron sight, it worked out pretty well.
Glad you had fun! I guess that could work but as you get better you won’t even really need to use a sight 👍
I do this same method. I forgot where I learned it, but it totally works.
Should the paintball gun be straight up and down while aiming or slightly diagonal?
Depends on what you are behind BUT I’d say usually it will be tilted a bit.
Ideally you want it straight up and down. If it's tilted sideways. Something is sticking out further then the rest . In reality not all bunkers are perfectly straight up and down. When your doing drills. It's important to stay as pure as possible, early on. Once you are comfortable and fluent with the drill. You can start tweaking the drill to better represent the greater reality of paintball.

although paintball sounds fun i hate the fact that paintball guns dont have sights thats why i usually opt for airsoft but this video has helped me so im going to give paintball another shot thanks
Yea you really don’t need a site for paintball. The ball isn’t aerodynamic so it won’t have as flat of a shot that a site would help with. It just takes practice and you’ll have a blast!
I always tell rentals proper form not only does it make you more mobile and ain better it helps with making the gun not feel as heavy

So I had a question about shooting the marker when aiming: when you go to aim, should you always keep the marker rotated to where the hopper/loader is straight up and level, or can you rotate your marker at an angle? I heard that it’s up for preference and even situational, but I just wondered if it affects your aim or how the marker hits targets. Thanks for your videos, they help a lot!
You want the marker to be with the angle of the bunker so you can be tight. I’d recommend tilting your hopper in for sure 👍

Initially you want to practice keeping everything vertical. So you present the smallest overall target. Once you are comfortable. You can lean your gun to match some of the other angles that you will find on the field. Drills work best when you are dedicated to the purity of what you are trying to do first. Then adjust for more flexibility. If you start angling your marker right away. It's easy to get sloppy about how much you are sticking out, when you are playing.

I always find myself trailing someone when they make bumps rather than shooting in front of them is there any drill to break this habit
Just practice laning. Once you get your lanes right you just need to think of where they are going and shoot that spot. If you aim at them directly you’ll miss every time. Hope that helps!

Maybe. You have to remember a paintball isn’t as aerodynamic as a bullet or as fast. You’ll get it with practice though!

Maybe in the future you could make a video about field balancing to help us out , as in : no matter which position you play, you start losing bodies, so what are the best ways to get the field back in balance so you can have a solid defense when you are low on bodies , what moves to make, to counter or not to counter? Etc

Thanks for the love! As for when to push and where it’s tough as every field and opponent is different. I’d say communication and knowing which spots can shoot what areas would help you know that answer!

I feel like they could put iron sights thats jut out to the side sort of like an L shape but the sights aren't to big.
There is a company that makes a high-vis barrel mount ring but sights really aren’t super useful in my opinion. Learning your marker and practice is the best.

Do you recommend shooting from both the right and left side when in a match? Ive never really even considered trying to use my left hand lol
Yea! You want to be ambidextrous when you play. It takes practice though.
The best and cheapest way to get comfortable with your off hand. Is to carry around your fully set up marker at home. When watching tv keep your maker in your off hand and snap shots at different characters. Off hand bunker all sorts of objects in your house. (not with paint)
How do you compensate for the paintballs going down the farther you get and how are your shots straight
The arc of the ball would need to be accounted for. When you do this drill it will help you with that as well to learn how much to angle the marker at.

Not random at all! I use the Grease Monkey gloves you can get at like Home Depot. They are nitrile dipped.
I'll heed this advice when I get my own gun. The rental markers are so inaccurate, it's basically pointless to bother aiming with them.
Not necessarily. The rental barrel might not have a great bore match to the ball and/or you’re using lower grade paintballs. You can still use the same

How to successfully switch from left to right please
I’m left hand and the ammo thing is a little on the left so it’s hard to look down sights
Act like you’re looking through the marker. You also want to tilt the loader a bit.

We have a basic paintball gun, I cant see the barrel like you do because of the balls up top. How do I do it?

ML stands for Mělník which is in the Czech Republic. The team started out there.
How do I find a good shelter?
As in the bunker on the field? That all depends on how the match breaks down so it’s tough to say.
I aim so well during drills but then when I get out to the field, I lead out with my gun
There is a mirror snapping drill you can do at home that I made a video on. It’ll help with muscle memory.

I always use the rental paint hub and it’s just so off, I have good strats and I get behind people a lot I’ll shoot 5 shots and miss them all and then they just look up and shoot me once
Some of that might be due to the paint quality and barrel bore to paint match. I’d recommend following this method rather than a sight regardless as it’ll help you be more accurate.

Usually you can just ask around at your local field for teams who are having tryouts. Sometimes the field has its own program.

Center mass down the nose hopper slightly left/right depending on your angle and shooting hand or at least that’s what I’ve always been told.
Correct you want to have the loader tilted so you are in line with your bunker.

Not necessarily. The issue would be the paintballs having a harder time feeding into the marker.

The shot isn’t going to be the same as a bullet since it has a lot of air resistance. You could do a sight but you’d have to aim higher anyways.

That will depend on the velocity of the ball and other factors so it’s hard to say.

Don't "aim", paintball markers are not the guns! Just constantly shoot at the target and adjust, your eyes and brain will work as "aiming" computer.
I agree we should call them markers but most people call them guns. I disagree with not aiming. You should practice the muscle memory to get the aim right. You should be able to shoot one ball and hit the target, shooting a lane is there to help with pressure on the opponent or “making sure it breaks” haha.
@@howtoplaypaintball 100% agree: muscle-eyes-brain mechanism, however, "aiming" is focusing on a target, this is my personal experience only, when I "aim" I lose overall sight of filed. Maybe I aim too hard :)
@@damianolesz6326 yea working on field awareness and still having a good shot is important! It just takes practice like any other sport 👍. I’d say I’m focusing on the target but also keeping my head on a swivel.

Speedball markers are for inaccurate scrubs who can’t hit their shots.

It takes an entire box of paint for speedballers to get 1 guy out and they usually over kill because they spray and pray. Takes no skill.

TACHANKA MAIN a grandma on a wheelchair could get someone out with a speedball marker. Skill less guns for unskilled players.
It all depends on how you play. I can go a game shooting 50 balls or 400, and still get hits
