    Agree with you on using a single ETF portfolio without having to rebalance regularly, figure out the asset allocation, it's well diversified and the fee is wonderfully low. I use XGRO for myself since I am closer to retirement age than you as my core investment.

    Another great video! I personally buy into VEQT but XEQT is also a great choice for the reasons you give. I’m personally all for the one-fund investing and paying slightly more for the convenience, rather than needing to reallocate. Keep it up with the great content!

    I see some inconvenients : 1) foreign taxes and US taxes (15%) ,even in RRSP ? 2) do you benefit from dividend tax deduction in CDA ? 3) Yield is not enough to beat inflation Any comment is welcome on those points 4) there are ways to get better yields with other safe ETF !

      For what it is worth my only US holding, making up 25% of my portfolio, held outside my RRSP is BRK-B, which holds several blue chip companies, managed by the best investor in the world, and pays no dividend so no withholding tax. My RRSP is ZLU which is US low volatility etf, which has matched the S& P over the last 5 yrs without the volatility

    Great video. Was looking for something like this to dollar cost average. I usually buy vun, xqq and Xic for larger purchase. It not easy to diversify for 100 and with xeqt I can . Thx

    What about 'withholding taxes' by investing in U.S funds. Is there the risk of paying taxes both to U.S and Canada with this ETF you're speaking of here?

    would you please create a video on VDY for long term holders ? like if someone invested 30K CAD on one time and invested small amount (300$) on a monthly basis then what would be the outcome after 20-30 years ?
    thanks in advance.

    Appreciate your response in advance.

      Vanguard and BlackRock are some of the best! Also, I do most of my CAD investing on Wealthsimple Trade. It’s an easy app with no commission fees on trades

    Great video! thanks for the content, i really like your stuff. I have a question, let's say hypothetically in the future, somehow the Chinese or the Indian market overtakes the US (20-25 years or so)... would these etfs then rebalance to reflect the global market? i know my question isn't out of line, because before the US, Japan actually had a larger market size until the US overtook them. Im just asking in a hypothetical sense tho :)

    • @MarkFarfan
      @MarkFarfan  2 года назад +1

      Good question! It would really be up to the ETF managers (Blackrock, Vanguard). They might change up the % allocation to match the new global market dynamics... And if they didn't, you could always move your money into a new ETF that tracks that markets in a way that aligns with your investment goals!

    hey project E great video.
    i have a question: is it better or invest in etfs with high dividends or lower for long term growth? what is your opinion?

    • @MarkFarfan
      @MarkFarfan  2 года назад +1

      Hey there! There isn't one right answer to this question, unfortunately. Some people prefer income generating investments and others prefer growth. I personally prefer growth because I'm young and I have a pretty high risk tolerance, but I do see the appeal of watching dividends snowball. As I get older, I might rotate into ETFs with more bonds and dividend stocks to have that steady income. Also, there are different tax implications for dividend income and, depending on what type of account you're investing in (TFSA, RRSP, Cash), you'll have to deal with that.

    Hi, great video! I’m new to this and I followed a three etf strategy. One foundation VFV, one dividend XEI and one growth VGRO. In your opinion is this bad? overlapping investments? I also buy BTCC.b. Thanks!

      HYLD and HDIV are high yield 10-12% covered call etf’s with modest leverage to generate the higher yield. Good passive income investment in my opinion.
