fun fact about vdy. I think the avg monthly dividend is actually 11.5 cents/mth. One month it will pay you 9cents per share the then another month it'll pay you 14 cents per share. Probably because its so heavily weighted in the Canadian banks.

Thanks a lot for these, I do own some VDY and ironically XIC (and not XEI like in your video). @@to3sted248 Dividend yields, usually expressed as percentage, is what a company might pay out to shareholders. It's usually a small amount per share. Not all stocks or ETFs offer dividends, and, similar to the worth of a stock on an exchange dividends can fluctuate (although, in my limited experience, they don't fluctuate often, or by much; last 10 months 2-3 ETFs have dropped 1 cent, but 5-6 have gone up a couple cents). They can be dispersed within a certain frequency usually monthly, quarterly, biannually, or yearly.

How does someone start investing in ETFs? Registered or non-registered? Is the VDY and VRE only available with Vanguard? Do you use websites like wealth simple or quest trade?

The fees per year are if you invest with a broker but if you invest with wealth simple are there yearly fees also ?

As I understand, the fee for an ETF includes 2 pieces: MER and TER. In this video you only discuss MER. Is that because these companies don’t want to show the TER, or hiding it for some reason?

What about something like FFN? Also bank heavy, about 7$ w/ .1 monthly dividend.

Should one invest just in ETF index funds if they want high dividends and lower risks, or also add something else ?
