I don't use a leader and I seldom lose a fish, unless it break's the line or spits the hook. I love to catch and cook - catfish - carp - bass of any kind - sunfish - pike - walleye - and any kind of trout.

Try putting the hook through the body just below the dorsal fin. might get a few more of the short strikes!

Rocky….not sure if you can hook shad like I do with minnows….with a minnow I run the hook through the mouth and out the gill then hook the minnow on top of the back as you don’t want to gut hook them as they will die……you on’t have so many fish stealing your bait by doing so. 👍 enjoyed the video. Have a great week and weekend. 👍🇺🇸🙏

If there’s any barge’s around I would start there.
Then I would look around causeway bridges.
Back end of coves next to the river channel.
Small creeks that run into the river.
      Inside and around marina’s.
Early in the morning is the best time to catch bait 🎣🎣
I appreciate you watching my videos 🎣🎣

great video sir crappie fishing isn't as easy as some folks make it out to be you all ways have to weed trough catfish red best sun fish blue gill bass before you catch one crappie i think its more challenging to catch them in the fall and winter months but during the spring spawn you can sly them close to the bank or weeds or under dock i didn't catch my first crappie intell i was like in my late 30s i use to only focus on inshore fishing growing up in fld with bass and brim but when i moved to the north east in wv i became a better trout and small mouth bass and crappie fisherman
