The problem with Vince is that he has spent the last forty years in total control of what is almost a separate reality. Nothing in it really makes a lot of sense, but everything that happens does so because Vince has said it should. That sort of power and control over hundreds of people's lives, for so long, will eventually convince even the sanest of people they can do no wrong. The good news is that Vince generally confines his power trips to his own world, leaving it to his friends who are of a like mindset to screw up the real one.
