Brilliant! I already feel my anxiety over kitty-scratched upholstery releasing as I watch this very inspiring and meditative tutorial. Thank you for the thorough instructions.
Thank you so much for all the work put into this tutorial. Me and my cats are so excited to fix the couch! Then they get to use their claws on a more durable surface. 😆
Thanks for posting. We usually throw out our ikea couch once it gets too “nasty” for people to sit on. I’ll try this method and maybe not have to put yet another object into the landfill.
I'm having a chair delivered from a thrift shop tomorrow. It doesn't need to be mended right now but I'm into doing visible mending on all my clothes and I love the look and reason behind mending. Thanks for the great idea!
Was going to recover/upholster my thrifted fire side chair as its thread bare in some places, mainly the arms but also its brown and has nylon type material thats a bit squeekie and horrid. The chair however is so comfy for crafting, x stitch, crocheting or even reading a book, thats if the cat doesn't try and push me off of it. At the moment it just has a throw over it until i decided what material to use to recover it or if it should make a cover and tuck it round. Now ive seen you weave onto it im so going to try it as it looks amazing and can use a variety of colours including some patchwork in somw places sort of mix and match. Ive got a long scarf loom so have a little weaving experience and think that it should turn out ok. Also im actually looking forward to it rather than dreading the task as pulling off the old material is to hard on the hands and fingers plus will probably expose really old foam and i would be tempted to pull it back to bare bones and replace the foam and strapping too. Anyways thanks so much for this great idea i will definitely check out you're other videos now ive seen this.
Thank you so much Victoria for the comment and for sharing about your thrifted fire side chair! Would love to see pictures of it before and after you have finished weaving on it! Wish you happy mending ❤
