      Yes. Specifically, season 1, because that’s back when RCR was more of an acid trip than a car review.

      @StefanMajonez 10 лет назад +4

      Hey. I'm planning on buying a GS500e myself and, since you posted this 3 months ago, wanted to ask if you recommend this bike and what it's like to ride around on

    • @CrispyTurtl3
      @CrispyTurtl3 10 лет назад +24

      It really is, in one word, fun. Its not too powerful, but it has the power band to get up there if need to be. Its actually comfortable, and its rather nice to ride on. I had an issue with the exhaust, (It was aftermarket) So i had to replace that with the stock it came with. I would recommend if you want it, stick with stock, otherwise if you get the wrong muffler, it sounds like a tin can. Mine did for about a month. Its defiantly a beginners bike, but for the larger people.

    • @StefanMajonez
      @StefanMajonez 10 лет назад +2

      CrispyTurtl3 Thanks for the reply, the bike sounds perfect for me!

      CrispyTurtl3 how do you find it on the open road ?

    • @CrispyTurtl3
      @CrispyTurtl3 10 лет назад +9

      I have a 1 mile stretch right in front of my house, and sometimes i just let the throttle open up all the way, and zoom down it 95 plus with no problem. The power band is a little smooth, but you can feel it kick in around 6k. Defiantly fun to ride though on the open stretch.

    just found this channel because of this. i got my 1999 GS500E and it's been good to me. it's not stupid fast but streets in here are 120kph MAX and there's not even a lot of those so it goes WAY faster than i'm legally able to drive. accelerates nicely enough to those speeds too. i think i'm going to keep it as my daily driver.
    also: finland mentioned!

    Literally went out and bought a 2000 GS500e after watching this video. Needed something cheap, simple and reliable to get around the city on. It's not the fastest bike I've owned, it's not the prettiest bike I've owned, and it's not the cheapest bike I've owned. But for my situation, I couldn't have asked for a better motorcycle.
    Thank you Mr. Regular, I wouldn't have ended up on one if not for you!

    I had a 2006 gs500f, took it everywhere, went from the southern most point of Australia to as far as the roads went, went on a lot of dirt roads and she handled everything. I had a screamin demon exhaust on it and it did sound awesome.

    A best seller in Germany ....Easy to work on top speed 170kms per hour, and out handles many far more expensive bikes on the bends due to the super strong frame .... They are a perfect commuter bike, and the government in Australia has bought thousands of them....

    TBH I've been riding a 2002 for like 2.5 years now, my 2nd bike after a 250, it's VERY reliable (clocked 106K KM on the original engine so far, about 40K were done by me). For the real world? It's a GREAT bike, maybe not the fastest but it'll cruise at 120 KPH all day long, plus it's hella fun in the corners once you upgrade the suspension.

    I think it's this exact video where Mr. R transitioned to his modern style. The Mazda6 video talked specs a little bit, but this one actually analyzed the specs *and* the performance, while also explaining its place within vehicle culture as a whole. This is the end of an era, but also a significant beginning.

    My first bike was an '01 GS500, I kinda miss it, the stock exhaust does have a surprisingly nice sound. Mine did NOT like to start in cold weather though. And by "cold weather" I mean 70F or less. I did love it though, there's something magical about that first bike. Riding that GS500 made me feel like I was perpetually in one of those "you meet the nicest people on a honda" commercials where everything is right and innocent and clean with the world.

    I have got my 92 model GS 500 E since early this year and as my first larger bike (had a n Aprilia rs 125 before) I really like it. The seating position is pretty comfortable and for an over 20 year old bike it still looks awesome IMO. Cheap to run, fast enough (did 180 km/h / 112 mp/h) with it and easy to maintain, oh and I got it for a really good price :)
