FYI Mine was a much smaller ticket. You insert it into the slot and it says "align to the left". When you do so it goes green, then red, and has a little hole punch. Good luck!

Good to know after I bought tickets rode to Lago di Como and back and I didn’t know how (or that I need to) validate my tickets before boarding.

Usually, the fares are the same. I’d recommend buying at the machine just to be certain.

You can pay with any standard card for these tickets. I paid through Apple Pay using my Revolut and it was fine.

No, just make sure you have the QR code.
