Do you two have jobs? Yes! We both have full time careers. Brian is a Software Engineer and Kerry is a Graphic Designer.
Is this vlog a paid promotion with the cruise line? No, we have never worked with a cruise line before (I doubt they even know who we are 😂). If that ever changes, we will be sure to let you know in the video.
What are those black pouches around your neck? We use the lanyards to carry some camera equipment, but many cruisers like to wear lanyards to hold their room key card.
What camera do you use? We typically use the DJI Pocket II, however, when we are in the water we use the Go Pro Hero 9, and in Alaska we occasionally used the Nikon P1000 for wildlife shots. What is a GUSS? GUSS is our name for a Towel Animal! It is a childhood memory for Brian that has lived on for years. You can see the home video moment where GUSS was born in Adventure of the Seas Day 6 (We Made the News) and Allure of the Seas Day 3 (Sea Day).
Is that one thing you said serious? Almost certainly not. If you’re new to the channel, we have really dry, sarcastic senses of humor. So if you’re questioning if it’s sarcasm - it probably is.
How do I ask a dinner time question? Leave a comment on any video and let us know it’s supposed to be answered at dinner time. We’re always looking for new questions (even if the next cruise we can answer it on is a long long way out).
Is it really pronounced CoCo “Key”? Royal Caribbean has said itself that it is pronounced “Key” in a FAQ of their own here: creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal.... To each their own on this pronunciation!
When and how did you meet? We met in February of 2020 via a dating app. We answer this question in more detail in our Independence of the Seas Day 2 (Swimming with Pigs) video.

Nice vlog. My mothers uncle (my grandmas brother) Stig Nilsen has been a captain on this ship and many other with Royal Caribbean for almost 30 years. He is still a captain at RC, but now doing the Ultimate World Cruise, the longest cruise in the world. I’ve never been on a cruise myself, but looks like a lovely experience. Cheers.

How cool to sail out of Southampton! Interesting facts on the Titanic. I’ve been to a Titanic exhibit and the eerie sadness that comes off the artifacts is creepy. Love following along on your adventures. 💙
When I went pass the glassfloor stair case I couldn't help my self.... and I said out loud "Is that a crack?" And the lady on the staircase did the most brilliant tap-dance I have ever seen. I would have laught louder, but I was afraid she would smack me! :)

It's very true about the pools and people's acclimatization to cold or heat. I'm from Toronto, Canada and while in Vegas in November once....the only people in the pool were Canadians and Alaskans. It all depends on your geographical home and the weather there.
Our first cruise back after covid was on anthem from Southampton because it’s our home port. We got a royal up to a grand loft suite it was amazing.

My husband and used to cruise all over western Caribbean on Carnival. I will be cruising next May w/ a childhood friend in Miami on the Horizon. Can't wait.
There is also a nice Titanic museum in Cobh, Ireland which was the port stop Titanic made before setting off into the North Atlantic…my daughter did a study abroad for a month in Ireland in summer of 2019 and she got to visit the museum and take part in an interactive experience where you’re assigned the persona of someone who was on the ship, a mix of the first, second and third class passengers (she was a cooking staff crew member who, in real life, actually made it off and lived until the 1950’s)
It is a great museum. I did that as well in 2017 and my ticket was a 39 year old 3rd class passenger that didn't survive.

i stayed in the white star tavern, night b4 the cruise really nice bedrooms and restaurant, each room is named after a ship i stayed in the olympic room, i enjoy watching your videos, after watching this im excited about my cruise to norway this year.

Unfortunately we didn’t get lucky enough to see the lights. So I guess that means we need to book another cruise to try again 😂
We spent a day in Southampton searching out Titanic history…there are memorials all over town. There’s one for the engineers, one for the musicians, etc. We were at one of them when an older gentleman came up to us and told us he had ancestors who died on Titanic, and he really appreciated us taking an interest in the memorials. That was a cool moment…
We also had a drink at The Grapes public house, where crew members used to hang out and drink. The famous story there is about a set of brothers who were workers on Titanic, but lost track of time and missed the ship, which saved their lives.
The history there was pretty amazing, especially for cruising nerds like my wife and I…

Done this same cruise 28th August. Such a great ship with great entertainment and staff that are brilliant. If Joff is doing the 70s show, please go. It is a absolute KO show from start to finish.
Norway is stunning. Flam my favourite port visit, and everything is easy to get too. The railway trip can be booked easily at the port. 5 minute walk to station.
These videos are from the August 28th sailing! Maybe you’ll be able to spot yourself in the background in one of the videos. We didn’t catch the 70s show or do the train in Flam, but we had lots of fun! Flam was our favorite too!

We had the Key once on Harmony of the Seas. Got it for the same reason, it was only slightly more expensive than the internet package. The ship though was only at 50% capacity so I felt like a lot of the benefits were not needed. I can see it would be more of a benefit on a full ship though. I will say that the welcome lunch was very good.
My birthday is coming up and my only request was your Etsy map! I’m going on the Harmony in December and I can’t wait to scratch it off :)

Hello Brian and Kerry, we have watched several other travel vlogs but we absolutely think you two are the best. We have a couple of cruises scheduled this year but after watching all the videos on your Norway trip we decided to book one as soon as I could find it. Well, July 12 ,2024 we will be on the Anthem out of Southampton. I know it's a ways off but we got a Jr. Suite for a great price. Already looking forward to experiencing this trip which you two shared with us. Can't wait to see some more. Happy Holidays !!! Just wondering if you flew to Southampton or took a ride from London. How did you do it.

Oh and you should sail on Navigator OTS sometime -- it also has a Johnny Rockets on the pool deck, and it is a beautiful and fun ship.

I sailed from Southampton I think in 1966 on the SS United States. It wasn’t a cruise ship, was an ocean liner. It was just transportation but it was very nice even in third class.
That's so cool, and so surprising to hear that 3rd class was very nice.

Dinner Question- Brian, when you first met Kerry were you worried she wouldn’t be into cruising? If she was anti-cruise would that have been a dealbreaker? Kerry you cruised as a kid but would you have kept being so into cruising as an adult outside of having met Brian?
What was the process to actually get to Southampton,England? As far as flights?
We are looking into a family cruise in 2025. Looks like it's on Independence of the Seas. It's definitely a bucket list cruise for my husband and I.

Would you think of going on a around the world cruise , that is four monthsv, two weeks long cruise?
I think you are right we British are more inclined to swim on colder days however personally not if the pools are not heated. Are any of the pools on Anthem heated?. Ive not long come off a Wonders of the Seas Med cruise and while in Barcelona and Majorca and south of france the unheated pools were fine as the sun warmed them up a bit but in Italy it was a good few degrees colder still very warm outside but the pools were very cold and thats a real shame as other cruise lines, Disney, Cunard, P&O do heat their pools. Wont stop me from sailing Royal Caribbean again but it was like sardines in the hot tubs and people stayed in them for ages as no one wants to sit in a cold pool. Great Vlogs by the way.
we loved Alaska so much on Ovation this year we have an Arctic Circle Cruise out of Amsterdam next year which will visit some of the ports you will be vlogging! Can't wait to see what you did!
