Yeah - it's kinda like grieving when losing a pet - but being happy that they are just going on to another family that they will make really happy. Rescue dogs are the best! I'm glad we have our two forever dogs still with us.
It's been a hard couple of days. I should have videotaped all the bad stuff they did so I could appreciate the "freedom." I have been leaving my things on the floor, and I was able to store the mop in the closet instead of the living room!
Thank you for fostering! I fostered dogs for years until my own got sick and needed more of my attention. Saying goodbye to foster babies is bitter sweet. The heartbreak is real and deep! Hugs to you! 💕
Sorry to hear about your pup! We’ve had temporary breaks from fostering in the past. Once when our older cat got pissy :-) Now we have to separate the brand new ones from our “medically fragile” dog until they are vaccinated.
Petunia has had a great start. Whoever gets her, I hope somehow they can find this video. You both have been working long days. Those puppies will be blessed with wonderful families because you both have given them a great start. Sending a little money for a margarita or possibly a new vacuum. Whichever you need most 🤗
This is heartbreaking. I was never able to foster. It crushes me. I failed the first time. Still have the dog. Then I fostered one, and I still think of him. And then I saved a dog that was being given for free on facebook, sent her to a good rescue and she has a good home now..but I still remember how happy she was here with me. Fostering is such a selfless thing and so needed. I'm sorry you are hurting! Is the lab the only one that belongs to you?
We all do our part in finding these guys a better life. I keep watching the video and going from sad to happy and back again. The yellow lab looking dog is a foster-fail from last year. The golden retriever is our baby. She was rescued out of a slaughter house in China. She's a mess, but she's a happy dog!
I foster dogs from the Navajo Reservation. After returning the pups who were now ready for adoption I had planned to visit them in a week, but a week later found all of them already adopted. Sometimes sad news can be good news.
Awe you’re so awesome! I know how this feels- so many emotions right? But they are going to continue to be loved and cared for, you helped give these guys a chance of a lifetime and that’s honorable.
Thank you for doing what you do! Fostering is selfless, and you and Kat are wonderful human beings. I live in Bellingham WA and plan to retire down your way. Our Mr Pickles is around 20, he was a rescue, and he has been the golden light for our entire family for over 12 years. Thank you, thank you, thank you!🥲
We know because of your help they will have a better life. But it's still tough. As I've stated before We do NOT trust people that don't like dogs. I think we can very much trust you. Thank you two for giving them better lives. P n D
R E A L L Y ? I must say you are stronger then us. Ours are both rescues but there is NO chance we would be brave enough to do what you 2 did. I never became a Vet as I wanted. It's likely a good thing, I can't imagine the size of property I'd need. Likely 10X what Asher in Oregon has. @@AlmostRetiredinMexico
You can only foster fail so many times. We've done it twice. But once you have a good pack - then fostering without failing gets easier because you run out of room! Your pups won the lottery!
Hugs for you and Kat. Sweet Pea cuddling with Kat! Fun with hammocks, all three in the dog bed, they're like toddlers - so sweet when they are sleeping (lol), Kat's puppy blanket, we look so innocent, the evil Roomba, they are such stinkers! I bet Butters and Nugget were tired every night from all of the puppy attention. I'm crying, no, you're crying. Bless you both for enduring the heartache each time you have to let your foster furbabies go, what you do is so wonderful for the pups and helps them find great homes❣(We fostered once, Henry has been with us for 2 1/2 years now - foster fail!)
It's miserable separating from a pet under any circumstances. Thank goodness you're committed to giving these pups a better life. Portland isn't too far from Seattle area. Hopefully you'll be able to reunite and see then thriving.
God bless you for being a foster parent! I adopted my Mexican miracle pup 12 years ago and she continues to thrive with me in Victoria, BC. She had amazing foster parents for the first 3 months of her life and I am forever indebted to them for all they did to aid her journey to me.
Yes indeed, it is the saddest and hardest day when they go to their forever homes…I rescued two female dogs, I managed to get them into my property but couldn’t get close to them for quite some time, they were terrified of humans….I was surprised when one of them gave birth to 4 beautiful puppies, it was the first time ever she allowed me to get close to her….finally she trusted me and took her and the pups to the vet….a flight attendant helped me find the puppies their forever homes, 10 weeks after they were born I took them to the airport and dropped them off, my heart was shuttered into a million pieces, I said never again and here I am continuing feeding and rescuing stray dogs….I have 7 right now, the most beautiful loyal dogs anyone’s can ever asked for, not fostering them, I’m keeping them, they are my family….God bless you and your wife for fostering and helping those beautiful creatures find their forever homes, I pray to God to give you strength, it’s not an easy job but it’s done with lots of love for those pups.
Thank you for what you guys are doing for all those pups! I foster fail every time. I keep hoping I can eventually do what you guys are doing. Such precious memories.
What a beautiful life and intention you shared with them. You guys are true heros and I can only imagine how hard it is to say goodbye. The world needs more people with your spirit and kindness🙏❤️🤗
Brighton, can we connect to talk about a Baja foster we are trying to get adopted? Need some help finding Sweetie a loving home either here in B.C.S. or the States.
When I used to foster dogs I sometimes got negative comments from people who said I must not love dogs or I wouldn't be able to foster them I would just adopt them. How ignorant! Adopting them out was sad but also very satisfying b/c I knew they were going to good homes. Thanks for loving the animals!!
So sad that people commented like that. It shows way more love to bring them into your life and then let them go on to forever homes! You can only adopt so many dogs in your life, but the ability to foster is pretty endless.
It's a wonderful thing you're doing. The rescues we've had have been wonderful dogs. Each of them has been incredibly special. The people who become involved in the rescue process make the world just a little happier with every single dog that finally gets to the people who have the easiest job - adopting and making them a permanent part of our families. Thanks for this work.
These puppies look like our rescue that was born May 12th in the back of the Armburo store. They could share the same daddy. You’re a saint for fostering them. What a difference you’ve made in their lives. We all want all the puppies to have the best life. Thanks for doing your part. I cried with you while watching this video 😢
Thanks Gordon! Kat and I are lucky to have had time with them. And we'll be lucky to have time with you and Katelyn soon - I think I have a text to return.
It must be so hard. But you gave them love and a new life and I’m sure happy homes forever. God bless you and keep doing good to others. That will warm your heart. ❤️. Lots of love for you 🙏🏻
Brighton, I've rescued and fostered kittens, I think total was 23, not including the 6 I kept 😅 I do understand the attachment. Thankful for people like you and Kat, and others who rescue.
Eeesh…that was a tough one to get thru w/o tearing up! I failed & DID cry a bit…tears of joy for the sweetness of the pups & the fact that they’re on their way to loving, furever homes, & tears of compassion for you & Kat as I know it was hard to see them go. I love dogs so much, have had Many & lost my 2 besties over 4 years ago. When I get established here, I hope to follow in your footsteps to help the local canines be healthier & find homes. Thank you for what you do. ✨😌🙏🏼
Oh the chaotic energy of puppies! This video made me cry too. I do rescue here with cats. I have six indoors so I have to adopt out the ones I rescue and it’s always sooo hard. But you’re right, it’s the only way to ensure that more can be saved. The puppies are so adorable and I am certain they will find great homes. Thanks for all you do!
We've fostered kittens in the past. Our first cat was a foster fail from the first litter. It's great that you've reserved space in you pack for some fosters! Thank you for what you do too!
The work you're doing is so important, I hope you stay strong and please know that your fans are so proud of you for fostering these beautiful babies. ❤️

For many years I was a cat owner but than one day my wife brought home an abandoned puppy. We named her Tope and she is now 3+ years old and is and always will be familia.
I love Tope! But cats are great too. We are currently cat-less for the first time in 20 years. It's easier to travel sans-cat though. But our one cat taught plenty of foster puppies to respect their feline friends and neighbors!
