i bought this back in July and it is fun to cast out the line 300ft. With the line that far out, I caught a bass, but didn't realize I had it on the line until 30 minutes later. I guess being that far out you dont feel any bites lol

😂 I would recommend storing the Mavic-3 with the headlight next to your bed. If bad guys try to steal your car again, you can drive them away safely with the spotlight. 👍 Or instead of throwing the yellow potato something that puts the thieves to sleep. The police would then only have to collect them. 👌
WOWZA!!!! That thing is soooo loud. Makes me want one even more...lol. Love the Videos Steve......I cant believe it picked up an Angry Bird Stuffie with no problem. I can see myself getting in trouble on my job sites dropping various items on people....too funny. till next time.

You should consider changing you stance on not selling a Captain Drone Launch Pad... do a small run 1st to determine the market (it might be huge!) Love the lights, but I have Fox Fury Exolander with all kinds of crazy lights, so no present need

Asking for clarification cause I know the Mavic 3 is Ocusync 3+ but if you use it with an RC N1 it's only Ocusync 2??? Wut Da Hek??? And also the performance difference between the O2, O3 & O3+

Do you have to charge both the search light battery and the drop plus device battery even when you combine them together for remote control your search light?

The light is cool, but it's on a drone and your showing the light power about 6ft off the ground. So is it only a search light using close to the ground. How does it do let's say 50ft up. Is it still a search light? Thanks Cap!
You can spot objects as far as 330 feet (100 meters) away (set the drone camera to capture as much light as possible), and spot your drone at night in the air, as far as 725 feet (220 meters) away.
I know you weighed individually. But did you ever do a full weight. Id like if possible if you could (telling me on here is perfectly fine. Dont ever expect you to go above and beyond for any of us) How does it work/look on the AIR2S or is that different hardware (extra sensors on the top front) Just asking as I only have the AIR2S.

The items I showed are designed for the MAVIC 3. I do not have the same items for the Air2S. Everything is built for a specific drone so that it is tight.
Lmao. The timing... I am in the process of building a LED light inside a flashlight reflector in front of quad to see better at night. But, way smaller and lighter. And can shut off with switch on remote. To be fair, I got the idea from the Tiny Whoop site. Just making a bit bigger.

Have a question. I’m going to Alberta to visit my son and grand kids. It’s about -20 f out there. Is that still around limit for my DJI mini 2. Can’t remember the cold limit for DJI
You can fly the mini 2 at the North or South pole. Like every drone on the planet, you need to keep the batteries warm in your pocket before you go for a flight.

I don’t know about the FAA, but in the UK in the CAA regulations, it’s illegal to drop things from Drone
I didn't remember seeing this, so I checked and yes, it's point 12 in the Drone Code: "12. Never drop anything from your drone or model aircraft while it’s flying". That's too bad. I don't have much call to drop anything (not being a fisherman), but it would be fun to have contests to see who could drop closest to a ground target!

I use a turbo tactical flashlight that is 2,000 lumens and weighs about 5 ounces as my drone spotlight on my ruko drone. Dont fall for these over priced drone lights when u can be creative and have one twice as strong for the cheap. Can also use headlamp lights, keychain lights, bicycle lights. All of these can be found to be bright, cheap and light weight. Just use things like velcro, double sided sticking tape, cell phone mounts, zip ties. Heck iv even used string, rope to help mount and hold lights in place. Be inventive

Check the companies website as they make these items for different DJI Drones. They should also list the battery light time per charge.

It all depends on the type of materials used. Industry grade material will last an extremely long time (forever). Some of the lower cost home 3D filiments are designed for show but not for daily handling in all types of light, however, the more expensive filiments for home use, can be used to manufacture replacement components at home and they will also last forever.

I got the Amazon version which I personally think is better. It comes with built in landing gear and you only have to turn the light on once for it to release the payload. I mean ya really can’t go wrong for $30 either way.
Is that the “StartRC” model?
I purchased one last week and was terribly disappointed with the overall build quality AND the extremely dim light output.
I totally get that $400is a bit pricey, but…. It really does look nice.

The unique operation method for all Drone Sky Hook products is part of the False Command Avoidance Algorithm. The Drop Hook will be triggered ONLY after the device validates the operator command. Drone Sky Hook is also the only company that offers the user 2 remote operation option, by the drone's lights or by YAW maneuver.

I purchased the $399 combo package for an upcoming fire department training course next week.
I was very disappointed at the lack of brightness (compared to the very pricey but gorgeous DJI SDI oem light product AND the $25 “StartRC light sold on Amazon). I wish the DJI government market sales rep had left the demo. I’d like to compare light output to the Drone SkyHook model.
and did not have the pointing / positioning laser.
Additionally, it was quite difficult to control the light remotely.
It takes multiple, MULTIPLE attempts to enable by alternately turning the drone (Mavic-3) down facing internal light on and off.
There’s also no indication that the light is “on”, which really makes this product unusable for public safety use.
And… Speaking of build quality directly… the frame and most parts are 3D printed!
It’s not like I purchased a “one off” gadget on Etsy. This is supposed to be a premium and in-production product.
For this price point, I’d expect quality all plastics to be injection molded and have a nice fit and finish.
Not only does the fit and finish look cheap and flimsy, making you fear mounting it to the drone frame, wondering when it will crack and shatter.
AND…. When removed, there are scratches and marks on the drone arms. On my $3k drone !
This is ABSOLUTELY NOT a “high end” product.
I was really surprised and disappointed that Captain Drone promoted this light (& release module).
I normally have a high level of trust in the product reviews that he produces.
I’d gladly pay more to have the following:
- BRIGHT light output.
- Integrated laser pointer.
- better plastics and build quality.
- better method of POSITIVELY controlling the light and the release unit.
- USB-C charging!!! For a $399 product to still use MICRO-USB in 2022 is slightly insane.
- remote display of battery strength/life of both “systems” (light & release).
- shock and motion dampening built into the light mount. (not as critical as the above items, but the light beam bounces all over the place)
I plan on producing a review with our fire department creating a demonstration scenario.
Comparing several solutions side by side. (DJI’s OEM SDI / LumeCube with modified mount / StartRC and other low end / home fabricated OLight mount and holder for 1,000 lumen , 2,200 and 5,000 lumen adjustable beam pattern lights) along with construction of a remote control interface to the DJI Mavic-3 integrated comm port.
It’s not absolutely terrible, but is most definitely NOT worth the price IMO.

@@PowderMill the one I have is “Hanatora Payload Release” the photosensor on mine only blocks a very tiny amount of light from one light, otherwise it’s still like I have basically 2 lights. The build quality of mine seems good overall and I haven’t had any issues with it. So far mines worked flawlessly so Iono maybe I just got a good one. Each is own but for 49.99 I’ll take it.

What a waste way of showing the light review we want to see in detail at night and at hight altitude but you just fly few metters above that's not good
Too many non legal applications. Being able to drop at the push of a button is a prisoner's dream. Also, dread to think what a terrorist could do with a drone that drops small payloads .
Drop devices have been on Amazon for years. This is why Prisons are all no-fly zones.
Thanks for reviewing these items... It seems that if you own a Phantom and a Mavic you need to buy a Drop system for each. One drop System does not fit the other Drone.

My wife loved the Angry Birds when they were popular. Then she tossed them all out, but I saved them due to their goofy shape & color so they appear in many vids.

The only scams are the drone ads on Facebook. Banggood is very reliable. Just remember it is Chinese so there is no such thing as custom is always right or free returns after use.
