Really hope this does well, I loved the Del Toro movies when I was little which led me to the comics and they are just INSANELY AMAZING, such a genious and deep universe. Been wanting a good adaptation of them ever since, so... Maybe this time around?
I actually like the way this looks. I think it looks dreary just like the comics. If I'm being honest Del Toro actually might have made the movies a bit too fantastical when in reality they're a lot more grim. I remember reading the hellboy comics after seeing the movie and thinking why doesn't he win like the movie he gets beat up multiple times in one comic and I was just like damn. I think the story is better for the comics obviously as they're the source material. I just hope its good.
This is true imo. I read the comics before the movies and the movies don't really utilize the source material but this feels really more on keel with the comics. Hopefully it won't disappoint.
There's a few reasons why I am super excited for this but the important one is that I believe this is the Hellboy movie Mike Mignola wanted. Being a direct adaptation of one of the more popular Hellboy comics, it's looking like a very promising and faithful adaptation. The lower budget is a shame but makes perfect sense considering how the last movie flopped.
Im gonna give this a shot I mean it's got a 20 million dollar budget it looks very spooky and the director knows how to make very stylish movies with the crank movies and gamer
I agree with a lot of what you said. I like “The Crooked Man “ story and it could be okay with this visual style. Could be a fun watch as a “horror “. I am not big on Red’s face prosthetics (or the lack there of).
From what I heard about a year ago, the story is very close to the comic version. The story doesn’t require a massive budget. Since it’s from Hellboy’s earlier life it tracks that he isn’t going after the super big baddies yet.
People are going way too hard against a 70 something second teaser. Yeah, the movie looks cheap because it's being done on a shoestring budget. If they make a somewhat entertaining movie on a glorified fan film price tag that's going to be very impressive. The movie looks good.
I think the movie might do OK just because of the fans who want to see it I also think because of the comic book accurate adaptation as far as the character looks, & the overall color matches exactly the color book is, and of course to compare to the other Hellboy movies that have been done First or foremost I think we all want the Gilmoro Deltoro version to be finished. You’re gonna spend time and money on the last two films being that coming out and the one before you could’ve just put that money into a third movie to finish the trilogy & then maybe, jump to the version that’s about to come out that would’ve made more sense.
@@RoachsFilmReel I have my reasons that I don’t need to explain or argue about on the Internet but love his acting abilities and believe he is the best Hellboy.
I'm gonna be optimistic 🤷♂️ I feel lucky. I can appreciate good acting and good story. Let's see if this has that, until I see it I'll save criticism. Loved all the HELLBOY movies
Turn I think I wanted something more from it like a more intense creepiness then I see here. Just not real excited but there are times trailers can be lame and the film much better. So well my final judgement on overall film will come after credits. I do wish they had wrapped up first HELLBOY series of films. Also over time the last film doesn't always bug me as much although there are part of it that could of been better. Like many adaptations of comics I have really seen one that is 100% there. Maybe something like SIN CITY... Still I think with HELLBOY animated films are probably the best way to go as I dug the ones that came out some years back.
Omg, the film hasn't simply "been endorsed" by Mike Mignola, he wrote the screenplay with Christopher Golden, who he has collaborated with on many of the comics. 🙄This is the first film he's had any real creative control or involvement in, he wasn't just simply handed a pile of money to give his endorsement.
If a third Ron Pearman Hellboy couldn't be made. Then at the very least that third animated Hellboy film that was teased years ago should been done instead.
I really loved the new movie it hsd soooo much potential granted mia was straight up trash and monsters wernt as thought through as Guillermo del toro but it was definitely not bad
They said the same thing about Dredd. Who gives a sh*t. This is what happens when you get spoiled with big budget brain melters. That's all that matters to you.
Why not sell the movie rights to another studio for $20 million instead of making a bad movie for 20 million? Would seem like a no brainer especially if their not gonna put any effort into the movie
I've liked all the Hellboy movies that have came out so far but this one just don't look right. Their is no comic book fatigue, what people are tired of is the political agenda they are all trying to push. At 70 the Ron Pearlman version would be ridiculous, its past its time. I think they should have continued the David Harbarough version and figure out what could make it better.
as long as it isnt as shit as the 2019 shit show and if they actually nail the horror/action aspect I'll be happy love the character, met ron pearlman in real life and had him sign one of my comics the guy was kinda awkward but he seemed really nice probably just wanted to be done with his slot so he could leave
He keeps returning to Guillermo del Toro version....Yuck. No mention that the comic that inspired this is if not THE MOST WELL KNOWN HELLOBOY CMOIC then at least one of the well known, so yeah, I'd immagine Mike Mignola being on board with this, being based on one of his best Hellboy comics !
All these really shitty ass movies and shows that these company are wasting momey on could've been put to good use in making amazing stuff but they are too focus on pushing their political ideology.

The more money that is thrown into an adaptation, the more the studio wants to stray from the source material and ruin it for some reason.
You are really speaking facts now!!
@@marvindaughtry6237 well I'm going to keep an open mind will be the first time we had a bad trailer for a good movie
Come on. Couldn’t keep Harbour? That film was a TON of fun and felt so close to the comics.
