    Studying the sold comps is definitely a cheat code. I've learned so much this way. You can filter so many ways to gain knowledge of categories, genres, authors, price point..etc

    I've never researched Science Fiction books before, thank You for Your encouragement.
    The past few weeks I have been researching spiral cookbooks. Highest priced, lots, and it has given me a better idea what to look for. Cajun or Louisiana cookbooks, Dollywood, Art museum cookbooks, Thai or Chinese food low circulation spiral cookbooks.

    I like this format and would like to see more. You could also do a slower version where you look at fewer books but spend a little more time on each discussing it. There is a little bit of the Antique Roadshow effect when looking at high dollar ones - I feel like I should be finding them everywhere! Thanks.

    I picked up Dune Encyclopedia after hearing you mention that Dune-adjacent books can be worth money in a previous episode. Thanks so much for all the great info and advice!

    I also do a lot of that... drilling down by genres or topics (mainly in non-fiction). There's so much to learn every day. ❤ Being married to a sci-fi fan, I know a lot of the sci-fi authors already. Have met Timothy Zahn and Michael Stackpole (X-Wing series) at a Star Wars convention we ran here in Australia.

    Could you do a video going in depth about the international shipping program through eBay? I’m nervous to use it and only ship to the USA. Does it work for Canada too? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences with it, as you are a much higher volume seller than I am. I appreciate it!

    Ok so, when you are let's say at place looking for books and you find a book that you want to look up, how do you figure out it's a buy? Do you look at the comps vs how many sold or how many times it's sold in that month or both or is there a different kind of formula you use all together.
    Thanks, love your videos learning a lot.

    Shane, thanks for all the info. Reaching out for advice - I found three different photography books all signed by the artist at a thrift store. They're going for between 60 - 100 bucks a piece. Knowing you don't have all the details, would you generally recommend bundling all three or selling each individually? More interested in higher value, rather than selling quick. Thanks!

    • @curatorofthelost
      @curatorofthelost  10 месяцев назад +1

      Without details- I would list those separately! I think you will get higher $ that way. Same person could still buy all separately! Good luck!

    Question. When you finished with the filters in sci-fi and sold-there were thirty thousand plus items. What is the timeframe ebay uses for that set of items? In other words, 30k sold in a year, a month or in total on ebay?

    • @johnnyfortycoats2219
      @johnnyfortycoats2219 11 месяцев назад +2

      3 months.

    • @curatorofthelost
      @curatorofthelost  11 месяцев назад +2

      I think the standard eBay sold filter is the past 90 days. So I believe that 30K number was for that. Older data can be found with Terapeak. Up to 2 years. Just did a video on that too.

  • @kylerein2034
    @kylerein2034 11 месяцев назад

    how do you price a book if theres no sold listings for it?, do you just price it similar to the current listings prices? I find it confusing to do that because the current listings may vary a lot in price. thanks, I like your videos

    • @curatorofthelost
      @curatorofthelost  11 месяцев назад

      It is definitely easier with sold data. Without, aka “list comps”, I just look at what the values are and try to see how my book should fit. I also look and see how things price on Amazon. If regular sold item’s don’t show data- go to the Terapeak tool in seller resources- it goes back 2 years vs 90 days on the regular sold filter.
