Hello everyone, its Quentin, I would like to thank you all for your positive comments, it encourages me to get better and to become the best singer I can. And again, thank you Phil, because good will is sometimes not enough, and you provided (and still provide) guidance whenever I was stuck and frustrated with my voice!
I took classes for 7 years, have continued on my own for 2, and have not yet learned to control my sharp register. This video inspires me. I feel very sad and depressed, I'm even about to drop everything. But watching your video, I would like to give myself the opportunity.
Please react to Dimash "Sinful Passion" , Sochi perforan 🙏🏼 It's a Brandon new performance, it took place yesterday 5th September 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 Thank you 😊
Thank you. The way I got him to support properly was by working on his vowels and articulation of phrases. So for example, you can take a nice inhale into your belly but if the vowel is wrong then you'll still choke. or if you grip too hard on the consonants in a song phrase you'll still choke. You essentially "cut yourself off" from your support. So really support is a RESULT of keeping that "connecting free" meaning, making sure the vowels are sung in a way that CONNECTS YOU into a place that is deeper and your body RESPONDS with support. It is a strange feeling when you get it. It can sometimes feel like you're STRETCHING UP into the sound there is definitely effort involved but it feels comfortable in the throat and suddenly you feel like you can REST on the notes rather than feeling like you have to shout up to them. It gives you stamina, consistency, stability and freedom. Support cannot be separated from VOWELS. The vowel will not be right without support, and there will be no support unless the vowel is right. They go hand in hand. They are both integrated in how I teach.
Phil Moufarrege , Thank you for your reply, I’ll subscribe and digest your advice. It’s amazing really to think that, when I was younger and had the privilege of having singing lesson - pronunciation and correct formations of vowels were key, though I didn’t really appreciate it at the time. Something so simple has such an impact on your voice - you’ve helped me realise that. Thank you
Hooooooly Freaking Gaaawwwwd!!! this was something I'm very grateful with! Thanks a lot for this, it´s very inspirational. This guy CAN RRRRRROOOOOOOOooooOOooOoOOOOOOOOOCK now!
+Phil Moufarrege Your welcome and actually it’s Ronnie. “Mickey” happens to be my email name and it just stuck lol . Anyway I have been benefiting from your videos and have been considering taking lessons with you so if you could send me a link to your site would be awesome! I’ve been performing since 13 14 (basically a blues Howler) but most recently started to get serious and sing more professionally. I perform and sing 50’s 60’s Rhythm and blues original and covers. If you’d like you can actually check out my page and hear if you’d like -staying on topic I’ve noticed I’ve been hitting a wall and need help on consistency with my top end. I’ve been learning under singers like Jackie Wilson, Sam Cooke, Franki Valli, Kevin Max, Brendan Urie just to find out my voice by listening to others, but I think it’s time to learn from like a professional such as yourself so if you could help that would be incredible. Regardless thanks for reaching out! Hope you have an awesome day* -Ronnie
I took a look at your clips I really enjoyed your 50's & 60's style and I could definitely feel the soul. Your voice reminds me a bit of George Michael, he is one of my favourite singers.
+Phil Moufarrege Thanks Phil. George Michael is one of my favorites as well! Actually it’s funny you brought up his name because I started realizing the wall when I tried singing his “Careless Whisper”. I just couldn’t manage to keep his softness and strength within my own voice and all In all it sounds strained...so that’s why I figured I’m a Leggiero Tenor or somethin’, but idk lol I just wanna sing consistently man. I’ll check out the link and get a lesson with you as soon as I can. Look forward to being under your instruction and thank you for listening to the clips. For now Goodmorning and goodnight* -Ronnie

Hi! I'm a 17 year old singer who's been singing for about 8 years, loves classical singing, deep rich tone and strong falsetto but doesn't have the range and flexibility to sing songs written for baritone from start to finish. I'm interested in having lessons with you. One question, how frequently do your students have lessons with you? Thanks!
@@matt-dw Some do once a week, some once a month. Basically whatever works for you, even one lesson can change a lot for you in terms of finally understanding how to do things the right way vs spinning your wheels for years.
The main things were teaching him how to stretch up his chest voice by controlling the vowels properly. A big challenge Quentin faced was he was taught by his previous teacher that he needed to "bridge" into falsetto and "make it sound like it's chest voice" by using a ton of reverb on the microphone. In our first lesson I immediately told him to turn the reverb off and had him working on stretching up his chest voice properly. It took a lot of effort and he would sweat. This is normal. You really need a good teacher who knows the right sounds, if you're off when you try to do these high intensity sounds you can hurt your voice and go BACKWARDS instead of FORWARDS. I had to show him how to do it without straining. It was a shock to him to learn that he was meant to sing those high notes in all those high rock songs in CHEST VOICE (to me chest and mix are the same thing). His biggest challenge though was his French accent. It caused him a LOT of constriction while singing and he'd get choked up and couldn't finish lines or hit high notes. He would approach the words very staccato with a muffled tone. I had to show him how to pronounce EVERY SINGLE WORD in the songs line-by-line. We literally would sing lines from Hotel California and Eye Of The Tiger OVER AND OVER again. HUNDREDS OF TIMES. But he never complained ONCE. In-between lessons he would practice up to 4 hours a day trying to get this right. And he did. He picked all of this up quickly and within 6 months he was able to sing songs that went up to high C's and even higher in full voice.
I think I need to work stretching the chest. I can go up to a G4 comfortably, but above that it feels like there's a little thing holding me back and it starts to sound strangled if I go high volume. But I have been noticing some small improvements.

Awesome work bro, loved watching the transformation, unbelievable man
Congratulations man!
Awesome transformation! Great job to both of you!
Hey I love your videos keep them goi
5:10: Using the hands this way is a must for most people. It prevents the mouth to spread which would cause out of tune sounds.
Come back here every time i lose motivation

Wow that’s some improvement! I was wondering - strengthening his high notes, did that come from proper breath support?
