    • @raeishimura
      @raeishimura 8 месяцев назад +103

      @@RobertM4 Many Americans face poor education and systems that don't support them. Now, I definitely agree that footage is most likely faked, because I have never in my entire life met someone who can't recognize the US on a map, or identify other continents, or knows at minimum the general area of a country. Now, knowing the entire world map, no. The other thing is that Americans generally don't leave America, so it's not as big a deal. America is enormous, and it is literally possible to take multiple days to travel across a single state. Because of this, most people in America just learn where things in America are, because the chances of them ever even leaving the country for the majority of Americans is non-existent.

      @@krisveliviaYou're actually right. That clip is from Jimmy Kimmel and while they do occasionally show real dumb responses to easy questions, most of the time they alter the clips to make the people look worse. For example, the clip may show someone asking "where on this map is the USA?" when in reality they actually asked "point to Brunei", "where is Kyrgyzstan?"
      I used to go to a music/recording school literally a block away from the show (M.I on Hollywood and Highland) and would see them taping these segments on occasion. Some of us got curious once after class so we walked over and they make it clear before you sign the release that they can and will alter the footage to make you look dumber. A classmate was going to do it but changed his mind because he didn't want to be ridiculed by people for a disingenuous comedy segment.
      Edit - to be clear, the clip showing the physical map on a stand asking "where is the US" is the one from Jimmy Kimmel

      Work in chat customer service, it's often like you're talking to yourself. Not only do they not read, if they do manage to read it, they actually need it broken down, sometimes very simple information is incomprehensibly for them, and often times instead of accepting that they didn't understand, they get into this entitled mindset and just go feral. further looking like an idiot in the process. Chat is very easy work to do, esp when you can type and think fast
      But as a person that's often ahead of people, I must say it's truly annoying to give a customer the exact information they need and watch them trip over it and then u have to spoon-feed them in smaller bites like a toddler until they get that you can't board a flight, complete the reservation and then get a refund because the Airport staff was rude to you.
      Or providing a link on how the charges for changing a flight will cost, assuming they read the link and then when you present the charges for the change they requested, they're confused and need a "breakdown"... Then I have to breaks down the the breakdown. Wild stuff.
      A word that constantly leaves my mouth involuntarily at work is... "did this person go to school?"
      And Id rather not start on their amazing grammar and consistency in misspelling simple words, cause you know, you're typing so u may slip up on the keyboard, it's fine, but don't be getting mad and constantly misspelling the exact same words in every sentence..... That's not a keyboard error.. you actually don't know..

      The reason for that foreign derision is that America is being judged by the vast and growing class of unintelligent, uneducated, and un-American welfare leeches. This class has literally exploded over the past half-century or so, fed by unchecked illegal immigration, government propaganda, and an intentional dumbing-down of the population by watered-down "education" in schools, colleges, & universities that have become indoctrination centers for leftist, Marxist thought.

    Me, a German engineer, travelled for work onto all continents for more than 30 years. I've been to the US multiple times too.
    I agree with 95% of the video (I only do not share the view on the past as "the good old times", they weren't so great either.).
    The US must return within its own society but also for its foreign policy back to honesty, which seems to be lost completely just after WW2. It needs to go back to strive for education (of the masses) and willingness to truly perform as an individual or in teams. The US needs to set its priorities right as well urgently; regardless who will be the next president (both current presidents are not worth to lead such a large nation), or the long slow of decline will continue. Remember, democracy only works, if the masses are highly educated.
    Last thought: the US is having the largest and most modern military but one of the worse educational systems --> This is what I mean with setting priorities right.
    Peace! from Dresden / Germany
    PS: I am observing very similar tendencies here in (Western) Europe, although not on such an extreme scale (yet). And no, it is not "the immigrant" 's fault or Russia's fault or China's fault, etc. It is our own laziness, mentally and physically. We only start to complain about them all, because our own laziness is now coming under pressure. Time to get our brains and asses lifted up. No doubt.

    I'll tell you as a European that has traveled to the US for the past 15 years, often and for extended stays. In my experience there is a disconnect, what is perceived as "Stupid" seems to be concentrated in the new upper middle class, and in particular in large urban centers. The people I've met in middle America, the south or even smaller towns on the coasts might not have the high degree of formal education but they are curious and aware that they lack said education. I cant express how cool it is to have a farmer from Ohio genuinely curious and in awe of meeting me , a random douchebag from 7 thousand miles away. They key difference is that the "Towny" American wants to learn.
    This is also becoming an issue in Europe as well, particularly with younger generations. My neibour a 20year old dude literally can't name the countries we border, and perhaps my final point is that what is often overlooked are the British, by far as bad as the worst American stereotypes, just lacking self awareness.

Here in Germany many children had to repeat one year of school. Online learning where children talk to screen, no one to help them because there are not enough teachers and the classroom rules where insane. During winter they had to sit winter jackets in a cold room because it was mandatory that the windows remain open. It was sooo chaotic and the isolation cannot be underestimated. I have seen adults change fundamentally due to the 2 year isolation. I changed and a child s brain is still in development. I think that really had massive consequences for children and it lead to further alienation.

    Man, I've been saying this stuff for years, it's depressing. I wake up and spend my whole day working on making stuff that I care about until I'm too tired to continue, then go to sleep, and do it all over again, day in, day out. From decades of doing this, I learned that monetary success doesn't come from doing what you want to do, it comes from doing what other people want you to do. Nevertheless, I will continue working on the things I love, because they make me happy and will attract worthy people. I don't need the status quo.

Just because a person is famous, doesn't mean they are smart. Despite this, over half the country practically worships people like Jake Paul, Will Smith, Kanye West, and Taylor Swift. It doesn't help that companies know that we have an idol worship issue because they stick celebrities in all the advertisements. Like, why the hell do i need Kevin Heart to sell me car insurance? I only really use my phone for RUclips, music, checking the news, and texting/phone calls (usually only when others call/text me), so I'm not too attached to it. It also helps that work requires me to not use my phone (smart devices are banned at work), so I'm not glued to it at this point.

Reach out to the campaign and volunteer as much as you can. In this way, you will be one of the people exercising your right to make a meaningful contribution to democracy.

    Let me correct you there. The education system DID NOT fail to do what it was designed to do.
    This was deliberate, especially by special interests who wanted “workers” instead of painters, philosophers, thinkers, innovators and pioneering entrepreneurs who used their imagination

    • @stacythomas9916
      @stacythomas9916 8 месяцев назад

      Absolutely correct, along with a healthy overdose of blind patriotism brainwashing started out by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance daily in gradeschool and being told how much more "lucky" and "free" and "better" we all are than everyone else. Ignorant people that don't think critically are easier to control, and people who have bought into how "wonderful" something is, even when it really isn't, are far less likely to rise up against or criticize it.

I remember other students in school struggling to find Europe. Sure, my sample size is small, but the point is you don't *actually* need to search far and wide for ignorance here, and this is because it's by design.

      It varies by location. I've lived all over the US & there are pockets of ignorance all over the place. College campuses, for example, are often one of those pockets. Inner city ghettos as well. Not dumb, per se, but ignorant to different ways of thinking. I think it stems from being in an isolated or insulated environment. That's my best assessment anyway.

My roommates and I placed an ad in the local Sunday paper for another roommate about once a year in the 90’s, not so much stupidity back then. A lot of it has to do with the internet and social media, especially excessive use, which is generally typical of the younger generations.

    I love how you explained this in a way that shows how the political divide is united in being upset over the same failures but are blinded by blaming the opposite party and voters. It is very different reactions and specifics on each side but underneath that surface of "issues" the same problems are the cause. I think, like what I experienced, when each individual honestly looks within themself and stops looking for someone to blame outside of them, the collective consciousness begins to evolve.

      Exactly. I actually became an independent before leaving the U.S., but I just got tired of how both parties blame each other for the problems that both experience. My parents told me it wasn't this divisive when they were younger as it is today. I just stand strongly with either side if I'm trying to be honest with myself and see problems from both sides. It's like everyone has directed their attention at the wrong enemy.

    This is knowledge you can’t get in school. Thanks for the video. Videos like this are why social media CAN be good. Unfortunately the vast majority of content out there is stupid. I deleted all social media other than youtube a year ago and it was the best thing i’ve ever done. Social media, porn, and many other things has created a bunch of degenerates. People don’t seek real love anymore. No one talks to each other anymore. I started realizing it was a problem when I worked in a restaurant. Kids on their phones not even listening to what their parents had to say to them, adults not talking either, I just thought it was so heartbreaking for one. Social media among other things has hurt society in so many different ways. I’m only 20 and It’s so fucking hard just to meet people now, especially after graduating highschool and college. It’s a huge problem. I’m thankful I was able to see how negatively social media impacted me. I’m just hoping more people of all ages will start to see how silly it all is.
