My patient Henna has had an ACL reconstruction (hamstring graft), a medial meniscal repair and a MCL tear. At Week 14 post-op she is doing well considering the amount of stiffness she has had in the knee into extension and flexion from the multiple injuries and wearing a brace to heal the MCL.
But hard work pays of (she is very committed!) and so now she is on track with ALL her exercises in this stage. Today I outline just SOME of the essential componentry in her rehab program for week 14:
Single leg strength: Loaded step down
Single leg stability: BOSU skater squats
    Strength testing preparation: Pistol squats
Impact loading: 1 to 2 leg Box jump
    Running preparation: Impact side steps
    Flexion mobility: Kneeling quadriceps stretching
We will follow up Henna down the track to show you her awesome progress!

I love the way you actually demonstrate with people who have had the surgery! Seen so many videos with a pt zipping about showing the exercises! Infuriating.

Great videos and exercise ideas/progressions. Helping me a lot in terms of getting my mind back in to the world of MSK physio as I just got my Ahpra reg over here!

Hi! Thanks for the video. I was wondering what the name of the cloth or brace is on her knee? I would really like to purchase I’m at week 14 as well

That’s just a standard double layer tubigrip compression stocking. Nothing fancy :)

I had acl reconstruction, medial meniscus partial menisectomy, lateral meniscal repair..it's been 11 weeks after surgery. Is cycling good now for building strength? Can I start jogging now

Do you have any advice on how to decide if ACL reconstruction is the right choice? I have a partial tear and I don't know. I work in fitness and reconstruction would mean being out of a job for a year

Only if you have recurring instability, pain or it’s affecting your quality of life

Why the bosu ball? Why make an unstable person more unstable?

It trains Stability -> Proprioception :)
