Still watching this 20 years later. Discotek has released many of these shows on DVD and Blu-ray finally for fans in the United States. However I am still waiting for this clip to be an actual show. Would love a fully fleshed out 26 episodes with all Go Nagai's Super Robots
What about a Super Robot Wars anime based of the licensed series like Mazinger and Getter just to name only a couple of at least hundreds of possible series?
I remember the first time I saw Great Mazinger was in the English dub of Mazinger Z called Tranzor Z when as he was dying Dr. Wells told Tommy and Toad about Tranzor Z and they showed the launch sequence of Tetsuya and the launching of Great Mazinger and man I wish they could have shown the Great Mazinger series here in America while I was growing up along wih the other Mazinger Z spin offs like Grandaizer for example.
The entire video is actually made to feature Mazinkaiser. Nobody said that Shin Getter & Grendizer were not enough, in fact, they are the only 2 super robots who got no damage during the fight before Kaiser's arrival!

I always love how expressive these robots can be with the scene. 1:07 Mazinger is like '' Oh shit...'' 1:16 Borot is like '' Oh No what should I do!?'' 1:25 Aphrodite A looks absolutely miserable strung up like that.
1:07 looks more like determination in face of incoming ass-whooping. Mazinger Z doesn't fall without a fight and shows how one can look awesome even while getting his ass handed to him to the tune of his own theme

Ok, so we see that Koji probably ejected from Mazinger Z to get Mazinkaiser since in 6:43 we see the Pilder is no longer there. Is it possible Ryo, Hayate, and Benkei abandoned Getter G to pilot Shin Getter earlier?
Not likely unless Shin Getter was left close enough for them to make it back in such a short time. Perhaps Musashi is piloting it? (going by SRW logic)
Luciano Bosón No, actually its Gou, Shou and Gai who are piloting shin getter. If you look closely, this shin getter is the one from the ova where king Goru is still alive. The shin getter from armageddon has a different design than the one from the ova. A good way to tell the two appart would be to compare the chest piece, you see: ova shin getter has that white piece in the middle the torso, while armageddon shin getter has that piece almost completely red.
Considering that the Getter team had piloted the Getter solo before, I'm not surprised if Benkei was in the G while Ryo and Hayato arrived with the Shin.

Isn't Getter Robo G and Shin Getter Robo suppose to be bigger because I read online that they're suppose to be 50 meters in height and yet they're the same height as everyone else?
When was this made? Probably before the OVA of Mazinkaiser (I suspect Million Alpha would have camiod if it was after, much like the cameo for the original Getter Robo), and Boss would have at least TRIED to help (and we may have heard a rock version of the Borot Ondo!) Really, though, the end got pretty overkill. Shin Getter Robo and Grendizer weren't enough, so they needed Mazinkaiser?
+Eric Atkisson None of these robots are actually in the same universe, per se. It's just that all of them were made by the same guy, Go Nagai. The only exceptions to this (So far as I know) are Getter Robo G and Shin Getter Robo, who were made by Ken Ishikawa, Nagai's late best friend. All of them are parts of Dynamic Productions, however, a company Nagai founded. Raideen was made by Yoshiyuuki Tomino, better known for creating Gundam (Or at least he directed Raideen) and Danguard Ace was made by Leiji Matsumoto, better known for creating Captain Harlock and Galaxy Express 999 (Or at least he wrote or directed Danguard Ace. Not sure.) I hope that clears up the confusion.

Lots of Mecha Beasts, mycene monsters, various Nagai and Getter stuff, Suddenly, an Great General of Darkness, mecha get beat up, Biggest Getter and Mazinger show up. etc. It helps that Mazinkaiser got a lot of press from the games, too.What with them providing hypothetical scenarios where you need EVEN MORE POWER than Mazinger normally provides.
Ok so everyone here seems to be up on their giant robot lore. Here is a question to baffle everyone. I remember as a kid in the early 80's, there was a giant robot anime that got shown on TV once. In the anime it had 3 robots (or maybe it was vehicles) that combined to form 1 of 3 different robot forms. Each form seemed to have its own array of capabilities, like one was suited for underwater, another for tunneling, and the final form was its main combat form. I only ever saw this once, and for the life of me I just can't remember the name of the show (I want to say it may have started with a "D" but I could be wrong). Perhaps someone my know what I'm talking about?
i know go nagai "co-created" getter robo and worked on the anime allegedly but from what ive heard and seen he didnt have much really to do with it besides that the actual creator should get at least some credits, he wrote/drew the sequels anyway (which are way better)
Jun Hono. Sayaka only piloted Venus in the Mazinkaiser ova. but Venus Ace was part of the cast of robots from Great Mazinger Series and Jun was her pilot.
Because they co-produce the getter together both of them put something in the show , ken illustrate it , nagai draw it and also he is the one who create the whole combining idea and other things too.

No, Kouji was in both Mazinger Z and Mazinkaizer. If you look closely at the end, Mazinger's Pilder is missing from it's head.

Shin Getter is 55 meters tall, and Getter G is 50. That's the right height.
