Sad, that people will do things to others like that. But, at what cost, now, the man has to miss out on his daughter’s last few basketball games and, whatever comes up before her school graduation. That’s something nor he or his daughter can never get back. I’m with you man! I too am a photographer and am frequently taken to task by ignorant people who do not know the law. And apparently the COPS don’t know the law either. They always side with the person doing the complaining. I carry handout copies of the statutes to give to the uneducated. Basically, if you are in public, you’re fair game.
I really believe he is doing something wrong and is afraid of having a picture taken of him doing it. You don't mess around with country folk when it comes to their kids.
This is stupid. IF he didn't want his picture taken he shouldn't have been in a public place. Lynn is a parent and should be able to take pictures if he wishes,
Ol’ grandpa Lynn would’ve handled that situation completely differently! Actually, that principle never would of acted that way sixties plus years ago when juniors parents were children placing his grandpa in his position!!
If he "asked" him, then that in itself as a law enforcement officer implies a survive add a law enforcement officer. And if no legal standing then the Sheriff had just broken the law. That's like "asking" the Sheriff to go to a rental property that you own to "ask" the tenant to vacate said property. And if the Sheriff does that, then he's guilty of eviction or attempted eviction through intimidation which is illegal. Once you put in that Badge, there are a while different set of standards that you are governed by. The law is there to enforce "the law", and in this case the man taking the pictures, regardless of who he is/was, was not in fact breaking any laws. The Sheriff should not let himself get involved, but since he did, he has exposed himself to possible litigation and legal action for not only himself but the authority that he works for. He may have been elected by the people, but the (apparently) County be spends for is on the dime for his errors! This is not my opinion, but fact. Before anyone gives me any grief about this, check with a reputable lawyer. JS
There was no hands on ..so I'd like to understand where they slipped the banned word in ..This photographer has a child in the program or game and participates.. it's a community basketball game ..
Unless charges were filed and a judge handed down an order stating that he could not attend his daughter's basketball games he should be allowed to attend.
The sheriff gave a weasel answer, and one that has zero legal basis. The principal is way outside his rights here. Mr Lynn is entirely within his rights, whether or not he is a professional photographer. And he should definitely pursue legal action.
This is my opinion - I am not trying to take sides - what would you do if it was you: now if he was just taking a picture of his daughter and he was just in the frame - then I would agree that he went to far. But if on the other hand, if he was on just taking pictures of everybody and was asked to not photograph someone after that then the action took has some merit. Just because he is Loretta Lynn's grandson and owns a $4000 camera doesn't grant him any special rights to be rude and vise versa ... It's even possible that both men has overstepped there boundaries. I wasn't there, we are only given one side of the story.
Just cause he doesn’t photograph well doesn’t mean he has to ruin it for everyone. Hehehehe Looks like he’d be glad a parent wants to participate in their child’s life when so many of them don’t. Sounds like he has control issues and small town politics with that Sheriff.
I was all for this guy but mentioning his "$4000 camera" when he could've simply said "my camera" shows what his mentality is like and how his attitude and way of thinking are. A privileged bragger.

They thought he was just a normal guy,,,,bit different pushing someone around that has money. Tell the principle to get back to work, he has a car, house and wife to pay for, ..lol
There is no law that was broken. If it's done in a public venue, then photos are usually per the norm. I wonder what the principal has to hide. Just a thought.
A school is not a public place. The principal, as the Board's agent, has the responsibility to regulate who comes into the building. Most schools prohibit the photographing of students without their parents' permission, so Lynn may not take pictures of any student other than his own child. The police are merely enforcing the trespass to property prohibition issued by the principal.
So, the perfect shot of my kid in action also includes the principal. I shouldn't take it? It's not that simple. I agree there's no reason to be an ass about it. But, I'm not going to try to avoid the idiot if he's in a public place where I'm taking pictures.
While I agree with the polite portion. That is not the issue here. The principal and the sheriff or using their position to be assholes. What they are doing is not legal or right and should not be tolerated.

Amen! Totally 💯 percent! If the school board members don't want to fire him, then it's time to rally and vote them out..and the corrupt sheriff as well.
Hi Sheryl hope you're okay?
That isn’t right. There is a problem with that school if other people has had to be asked to stay away.
the sheriff is in the wrong.
Good for him in taking action. Sounds like the principal is on a power high trip.
The sheriff didn't answer the question as to whether it's legal or not. The fact that there hasn't been any resistance in the past is irrelevant and doesn't answer the question. Just because you've gotten away with something for years doesn't mean it's legal.
The U.S. Constitution gives "We The People" the right to hurt the feelings of others. Live with it!
Me thinks Mr. principal has some skeletons in his closet......why else would he be all freaked out about pictures of him?
I agree 100%
I'm pretty sure the principal can't do squat if you shows up to a game. Just because the sheriff called him doesn't mean anything either his daughters in the game and he's the father no laws are being broken.
Technically he can't do a thing, but he will make a big show of having him removed, again bragging rights of removing the grandson of a celebrity.
What does the principal have to hide? He must be worried about something, I think someone needs to rattle his cage and see what falls into the open!
I think Will Rogers was talking about Congress when he said " Every time they make a Law it becomes a Joke, Every time they make a Joke it becomes a Law "...Jokers like these seem to make up the law as they go along...
“I am not a member of any organized political party. I am a Democrat.” -Will Rogers
He also asked... "If stupidity got us into this, then why can't it get us out?"
Will was a humorist and hardly a boffin. Congress was not the subject of this video, nor was anything other than a principal and a police chief. Play your political calliope at the carnival.
I think this Principle has a chip on his shoulder for some reason. I think it’s more about his name here and who he’s connected to and, it could be the principal and board members were told to start targeting him for some reason. Sounds like they have a jealousy issue and, are trying to figure if they get him booted out, they can control him somehow, in other words maybe they want a lawsuit filed against them and, thinking they can win. Sad, that people will do things to others like that. But, at what cost, now, the man has to miss out on his daughter’s last few basketball games and, whatever comes up before her school graduation. That’s something nor he or his daughter can never get back. There has to be something said, if this is a pattern with the principle and superintendent, there needs to be a board meeting and action needs to be taken. Hope he wins, his case and, more in depth action is taken after this happens. Because, no amount of money can ever bring back memories you weren’t able to have because, we never get these kind of live do overs.
Hi Sonya hope you're okay?
Just a little man, with a little mind, and a little power. Someone needs to educate his ass.
Hope he sues and wins!!!
Hi Laura hope you're okay?
The principle should have been fired and banned from ANY school until he realizes he lives in America and is an employee of the citizens of the town. The school belongs to the taxpayers, not the principle, the school board or the moronic union.
That’s hitting the nail right on the head 👍
@@jetstream6389 Sorry, the spelling contest has been cancelled because no one gives a b.r.a. and most people can understand what was being said without being critical.
How can a school Principal make such stupid decisions? That is in no way enforceable. He can be arbitrary if he wants, but he’d lose in court (unless it’s the ole boy network there). That lets me know he’s not fit to be in that capacity. The sheriff needs to resign. This is wrong on soooo many levels. Makes me wonder what type of abuse the students themselves endure at the hands of these cretins.

@@ERLJR82 Make sure his "new job" gets wind of his actions from his "old job". Don't let that monster hurt anyone else.

That bad principal needs to hear Loretta Lynn's famous song "Fist City"----- "You better close your face and stay outa my way, If you don't want to go to Fist City".
i love that song
For a second, I thought you were referencing her song about the “Pill”….
I was thinking this should be interesting to say the least!! 😂
Have good evening Sir..
The Principal must be nuts.
No, just a petty tyrant.
The Principle doesn't want his photo taken, since someone will match it with the State Sex Offender photo.
Thinking the same thing.
Ha! Ha! You’re bad, man. Bad. Love it.
God speed, all started with Dewey insisting the educating of our children should not be left to untrained parents who should not have a voice in public education. We let it happen and now look at who is molding our children's minds with the help of the state through law enforcement every day!
The police??? Wow Director of School should be fired for literally pushing his weight around thinking he is all that and a bag of chips....hell no! Goodbye director
Hi Dorthy hope you're okay?
What a crock. Parents all over the nation take pictures at games I believe he was just cornered of because who he was Loretta Lynn's grandson which is stupid and every sense of the word. You think the man would be happy to get his picture taken unless he's hiding something and he has the sheriff backing him that is wrong and on so many levels
New school superintendent elected, Principle Andrew Daniels demoted to high school history teacher before leaving county for another job.
Maybe we don't know the whole story
I’m with you man! I too am a photographer and am frequently taken to task by ignorant people who do not know the law. And apparently the COPS don’t know the law either. They always side with the person doing the complaining. I carry handout copies of the statutes to give to the uneducated. Basically, if you are in public, you’re fair game.
I would love to see someone tell me I wasn't allowed at my kids school. That is a battle they would not win!
I really believe he is doing something wrong and is afraid of having a picture taken of him doing it. You don't mess around with country folk when it comes to their kids.
This is stupid. IF he didn't want his picture taken he shouldn't have been in a public place. Lynn is a parent and should be able to take pictures if he wishes,
New school superintendent elected, Principle Andrew Daniels demoted to high school history teacher before leaving county for another job.
Being that he was the principal he probably had to be there. Why would you film the principal at the game, rather than your kid, anyway?
Ol’ grandpa Lynn would’ve handled that situation completely differently!
Actually, that principle never would of acted that way sixties plus years ago when juniors parents were children placing his grandpa in his position!!
This is ridiculous! Taking pictures???
In the whole story, it was stated that the Sheriff "ASKED" him to stay away. He was not ordered to. Show up and see what they do.
JS
Sheriffs were stationed at doors looking for me. I spoke with them. My kid was not going to have crowd see her dad handcuffed or make a scene.
Good Ol’ Boy politics at its finest.
Both the principal and sheriff need reprimanded! I will be spreading the word about both!
This is the problem. We have allowed public servants to become demi gods...somebody needs to yank the leash!
He should file a lawsuit immediately!
Your basic right is actually pretty simple: if 're in a place and see it, shoot it. This means as long as 're in a location legally
New school superintendent elected, Principle Andrew Daniels demoted to high school history teacher before leaving county for another job.
That is absolutely ridiculous!!! I hope he wins his lawsuit!!!
what parent doesn't take photo's at their kid's games????? was it because he wasn't using a cellphone, but a real DLSR camera. OH PLEASE
Miss Loretta Lynn get your grandson! Lol 😂 🇺🇸💃🏻🕺🏼
100% agree he should seek legal action he was within his right.
Fire the principal and sue them!!!
Just cause he doesn’t photograph well doesn’t mean he has to ruin it for everyone. Hehehehe Looks like he’d be glad a parent wants to participate in their child’s life when so many of them don’t. Sounds like he has control issues and small town politics with that Sheriff.
Flood the school district with complaints on this principal and the state attorney's office on this corrupt Sheriff's Office
I was all for this guy but mentioning his "$4000 camera" when he could've simply said "my camera" shows what his mentality is like and how his attitude and way of thinking are. A privileged bragger.
They took like 15 recordings and chose the most assholish one of me. He's gone and I have moved on.
He should sue that school.
He's a Lynn alright. He looks jus like his grandma Loretta. Even sounds like her. 👍
If he's anything like his grandpa Doolittle, watch out
Very sad schools are run by people like that principal.
First amendment covers his right to photograph. They are stomping on his civil rights.
If the principal does not want his photo taken at school functions he should stay home.
I wonder how the principal feels about his picture now being all over the news!

So what was the significance of letting the public know about his grandmother?
I genuinely want to know.
The only way it would have made news, I understand that and after filing grievances and being given the run around. It is what it is, I don't sing or dance, I repair computers.
Its good that her grandson finally was able to get into a band, im sure he likes music two.

The mayor of that town needs to replace that Sheriff if he’s going to be someone’s personal bodyguard instead of representing the people that elected him to position he needs to go

" I am the government and you're not." I am tired of this entitled attitude by government employees.
When are people going to realize when you're out in public anyone has the right to flim and or take your picture
ABSOLUTELY!!! Sue the scumbag!!!! We should take every opportunity to sue any employee and/or any representative of any public school for any reason whatsoever.
Wonder why he didn't want his pic took in the first place. It should of been handled with more of the principal telling him why. I would like to know more about this story. interesting...
Maybe the principal is in hiding, lol.
Good for Mr. Lynn, standing up to the petty dictators who think they run the world.
School board mafia🤔
This sheriff has zero right to have this man away from his daughter school. That’s so outrageous!
They thought he was just a normal guy,,,,bit different pushing someone around that has money. Tell the principle to get back to work, he has a car, house and wife to pay for, ..lol
I have all the same bills you just listed and then some. I work for myself, pay my own bills.
There is no law that was broken. If it's done in a public venue, then photos are usually per the norm. I wonder what the principal has to hide. Just a thought.
I bet the principal and sheriff both get fired over this. Good luck dude ❤️
Hi Tanya hope you're okay?
A school is not a public place. The principal, as the Board's agent, has the responsibility to regulate who comes into the building.
Most schools prohibit the photographing of students without their parents' permission, so Lynn may not take pictures of any student other than his own child.
The police are merely enforcing the trespass to property prohibition issued by the principal.
If someone doesn't want their picture taken, don't take it! Respect their request. Legality isn't the issue as much as morality and being polite.
@@jeffreydweeks Maybe they wouldn't have if Mr. Lynn had been more polite about it.
We weren't there, so we cannot really tell whether it was justified. Mr. Lynn seems very self-rightous and arrogant in the interview, honestly.
Total BS if he wasn’t breaking the law . The principal thinks he’s a dictator
Now this SOB at the school can stand there and leer at the girl now that her protector father has been removed from the situation. Dangerous. Very dangerous!
People do have to able to take pics of his daughter playing basketball.
I get both their sides but if someone ask your NOT to film 🎞/ 📸 photograph them regardless of how you feel you should respect that as far as suing they both cousin sue he could counter sue saying he felt violated ... I say such agree to disagree don’t do it no more (taking his picture) let the man see his kid 🧒 let it go too old for elementary drama anyhow ...
New school superintendent elected, Principle Andrew Daniels demoted to high school history teacher before leaving county for another job.
It's a humans right not NOT to have their picture taken. You have no RIGHT to take a picture of another human if they say NO!
Of course you have the right to take pictures. You also have the right to ask someone not to take your picture. What you don't have is the power to enforce either one. I don't like having my picture taken, but I have no authority to prevent it. You can politely ask, but you cannot expect the result you want if you are rude and domineering. That just makes you a bigger target.
@@robinmills8675 oh you most certainly do have the right to enforce it. I broke a guy's phone a few years back. He called the cops. I was not arrested or ticketed. He was told no and he proceeded. Looked like a nice phone. Hard to tell with it all shattered and the Sim card in my pocket.
