Ahh the red tip! I just picked 1 of those up after moose hunting for $10 about a week ago. With a Kai blade It shaved off a week of growth in 1 pass and gave me a bbs shave! People have trouble lathering the newer formula from williams. I have the old formula like you. It was my granddads too. It's even in his old spice mug! The old formula lathers great.

That’s incredible, where do you go moose hunting? My wife and I are wanting to plan a trip out west to go moose, elk and caribou hunting. Open season doesn’t start here on white tails till the end of November sadly.
I don’t know if I just forget about the red tip or if I just underrate it’s performance. It is and exceptionally smooth and efficient shaver with feathers and the Kai blades for sure. That’s also pretty awesome that we have a similar situation with the Williams soap, I was just astonished at the lather ability of vintage soap, and as you know the old spice does great too! It is always great talking to you, thank you!

@@mmobley011889 I live in sault ste. Marie, Ontario. White tail rifle season starts first Monday of November. We have 1 week of rifle for Moose halfway through October. I went 8 hrs north to nipigon, Ontario. We filled my cow tag in the last 15mins of legal shooting light on day 1! Didn't see anything the rest of the week. But that's ok, there's meat in the freezer!

That’s pretty awesome! How much meat do you get from a moose? It has to be several hundred pounds. How are the hunting/ gun laws there? I know Trudeau (that might be spelled wrong) has not been kind to Canadian gun owners, hopefully pierre poilievre will help turn some of that around. I will definitely check out some of the Yaqui razors, I haven’t seen much on them but I’d they are budget minded that sounds right up my alley! Thank you again, and I’ll talk to you soon!

    Nice comparisons!
    I love ATT razors!
In my latest soap batch, I increased glycerine by a lot but damn, to appear as the first ingredient is pretty crazy!

Above the tie razors are top notch specimens and it’s sad that they are gone. I was astonished at seeing glycerin at the top of the ingredient list as well, I wouldn’t think about doing that, but there were a ton of non-whole ingredient listings on the label (like tallow, coconut oil ect). It’s always nice to read your comments, we will have to trade soap samples one day, I’m interested in trying your formula! Thank you again!

I'm commenting as I'm listening, I'm at the part where you're talking about maybe trying new razors. I must recommend any of the Yaqi adjustables. I have them in chrome(zink), brass, AND stainless steel. Great razors at competitive prices.

Sorry I replied on the wrong comment about the yaqi razors. I just looked them up and they are some good looking razors at very reasonable prices. Is there one that you like more than others? Thank you!

@@mmobley011889 oh no worries! It's hard to pick a favorite to be honest. They are all similar in shave quality. Grip is best on the stainless steel, price is best on the chrome, and the brass has a longer handle. It depends! 😆 can't help but lean toward the brass or stainless steel because they are heirloom quality, solid metal, cnc machined.

I dug this comparison/contrast episode. While watching, I was astounded that you were loading the Thater while reading the ingredients on the bottom of the Clusterfig! Amazing dexterity, coupled with multitasking. If I were to venture a guess, I believe that the better performance of the B&M was due to glycerin being the primary ingredient, as opposed to the primary soap based formulation of Williams. All things considered, the razor, and blade parings were great examples of past and present. I may send you the many tucks of Astra that I own. I know that this claim is superficial, but Astra has never imparted a comfortable shave for me. Nevertheless, I walk away from your demonstration with a lesson on scrutinizing ingredients closely. I do prefer a soap with superior slickness, and protection. Then again, I must fall back on the axiom; there's no school like the old school. I enjoyed it. Stay save Matt. Please extend those wishes to your family as well.

Alex, I gave everyone your well wishes. I really enjoyed the shave as well. The comparison between the razors and soaps were interesting. I was going to assume that the old soap would be less dense and foamy and the razor to struggle a little bit in comparison to the above the toe razor, but in all fairness I truly enjoyed both experiences. I think it would be cool to do some deep dives on soap bases in the future, and compare different brands try to come to a conclusion about how they will perform and write it down and compare that to my prediction. Or even more interesting maybe make separate bases myself and change the level of a single ingredient up and down and see how that effects the lather. Thank you Alex, as always!

Awesome Shave there, Matt yeah you can’t tell nobody to like subscribe and all that because they have to see if they like it. It’s like you’re telling them to like your video and comment and all that like you bossing them around you can’t do that.

Mikey, I agree. The only reason that I brought it is was because I have been watching a few other channels and they were asking for that and I was thinking to myself that’s odd, tacky, and I didn’t like it. I wanted to know if I was I. The minority with that. Thank you for your insight!
