I have had my dreads for 7 months now and they are super loced up and I decided to brush some out. If your looking for a metal comb I got a lice comb from my local dollar store for $2. I don't know if you have one in your city but figured I'd let you know 😁

Are you happy with your decision to brush some out? Did you lose a lot of length from bleaching and improperly using the crochet hook in the beginning? Have you found it to be easy caring for two different types of hair at the same time? ( I think it's super easy)
I think you look AMAZING!! Hugs xoxoxoxo

Bottletree Farm why thank you kindly! Actually the maintenance is slightly harder, i am still adjusting. I do love the partial feel and look! I shall save these questions for an upcoming video about partial dreads and FAQ 😉.

Well here's how I do it. Every time I wash my hair I was my entire head... dreads and loose hair with a no residue shampoo. Because my part is very distinct separating the two... I pull away my loose hair and condition it... rinse it out and put my hair in a towel.
If my head doesn't need washing but I look a little oily I just rinse around my forehead and ears will all my hair in a bun.

Bottletree Farm thank you bunches for the tips. I shall experiment a bit with those remedies. I have found thus far that using my homemade spray on my brushed out hair has worked wonders! I then braid the hair after spraying/brushing, then I leave the braids in for a bit to allow the oils and water to work its magic. About an hout or 2 later, I take the braids out and vwala!.. Shinny, soft and clean ☺. Having dreads has taught me how unhealthy store bought shampoos can be...to the point that i dont even want too us shampoos on my undreaded hair unless it is all natural or homemade (hint: a future video to come). 😍

I really look forward to your shampoo recipe. I make all our soap, deodorant, toothpaste, mouthwash, etcetera.... BUT!! I've tried at least forty different shampoo recipes and have never found one that leaves my hair feeling clean without residue. I hope yours is the trick I've been looking for, for twenty years :-)

R.I.P. beautiful dreads😢.... Why did you decide to brush them out? I couldn't find a metal comb either when installing mine, I looked down the pet isle and found a metal flea comb though lol... That worked great.

@@HippieHousewife I brushed the top layer out just for some more natural looking bangs and 10 of them took 7 hours 😂 which isn't terrible but I'm definitely not wanting to do it again

I'm in the process of combing out my 7yo dreads it's not going great, here for a morale boost.

Oh goodness me, yes that can be a challenge in itself. My dreadlocks are also 7 years old and I used to have a full set and am now slightly "partial." I will tell you this...it takes OODLES of patience and time put in to combing them out. I recommend using a fine comb, some sort of "lube" such as oils (olive. almond, grapeseed etc) and understanding that it is indeed going to take time to slowly pick them out, comb through and while using the oils to help soften the "knots" if you will. I hope this information was helpful and if you need additional tips or help, please feel free to reach out. Good luck to you!
