    8. Build a knowledge database (to document your progress and info)
    9. Build strong foundation (review your basics regularly )
    10. Don't hesitate to go long term ( always find harder and new topics to learn, be progressive )
    11. Be skeptical ( question about the info you received to ensure accuracy of info)

Here's something I found really helpful not only for self directed learning, but for habit consistency in general.
Sometimes you run out of motivation and you don't want to learn anything. You need to prepare for those times. Find a topic or a task that's so easy (either because it's fun or effortless) that you can do for the time you don't feel like it so that you don't break your streak.
I found that one from the writer of Atomic Habits (can't remember his name).
Anyway, solid tips. Thank you for the video!

I'm a highschool dropout but recently i really want to study history and politics, so i'm going back to basics and it's really fun. I'm 30 and i'm not surprised i decided to quite school, the way they teach kids is definitely not adapted for me... Looking at the program, i know the subjects are super interesting but they make it so boring and complicated it's oh so frustrating ! So i have to make everything from scratch, as you said in the video it makes you 100% active in learning, and I make my own lessons with many different sources (but always based on the national programme - and btw in 15 years words have changed A LOT) so it is more fun simple logic and digest ! I think i really missed my vocation XD Thanks for the tips !

If you are going to college go for a degree that you are interested in. How would you know you are interested? It's like a mystery that you just can't shake until you solve it all the way. Usually this question is simple...."why?"
    Why what? You tell me.
    Have a goal
    Draw a path
    Walk that path

Parents have a tendency to view life from a lens of “practicality”, which often just means from their own experiences of not following through on their childhood /early adulthood dreams. With RUclips, the internet, and the library you can learn a lot even without their support! Also, you may even be able to get into your local university’s law school library even if you aren’t a student.

Betsyy put in your work and show them you care about it and are willing to do everything in your power to do it. Parents want what's best for their children and want to make sure that the path you choose is certain and hurdle free. But they do this out of love so since you're young you have more time which can be utilised to show them that it makes you happy and it's your purpose. They will surely come around it and support you sooner or later. Never be discouraged and believe in yourself. You become what you believe in.

Learning by watching isn't necessarily the best way. It's close. Learning by watching and then putting the takeaways you learned down in your own words and into action in your life. :)

Obrigada!

Ohhh I just saw a piece of Brazil's Civil Code and now I'm curious: are you studying about Brazilian topics or it's just a way to illustrate the video? 😊

But what if I have no purpose or goal? Like I wanna learn german but I have absolutely no reason to learn german at all except that I think it sounds good

That is your purpose/enjoyment then. You want to learn German because you think it’s a beautiful language that is fun to learn

Every time i say to myself: just 1 day, i will ONLY read/watch materials i need to learn! No random youtube videos!
That day, especially that day: i spend ZERO minutes actualy watching/reading useful things!
