Here's something I found really helpful not only for self directed learning, but for habit consistency in general. Sometimes you run out of motivation and you don't want to learn anything. You need to prepare for those times. figuring out your learning style is probably the most underrated skillset we overlooked. took me decades to finally realize what my learning style is and now I am able to retain information alot more and excel at my career in ways i never thought would be possible. not everyone can be textbook learners. keep experiment even if it takes you decades. your brain will thank you down the road.

I love this. It’s 100% true. We have the ability to learn anything we want. We have so much potential and the human mind is amazing. I’m building out a van to live in and I had never used a saw or power drill just a couple months ago. And now I’m building my walls and installing a shower in my van floor. If you haven't already, find a few books or corse outlines and look at the topics covered (contents page, prospectus etc) it should give you a general guideline of what you need to cover, cross reference a few so you know you're getting the most topics as possible to choose from.

I'm still not perfect but I know enough to be able to watch anime without subtitles. so there's this app called DUOLIINGO where we first have to do a little self quiz and then it makes a practice plan for us. I bought some Japanese Learning books, watched random vids on YT(about the topics which I was learning at duo lingo) and I have some students in my school who had their 3rd language as Japanese(unfortunately my parents enrolled me in sanskrit) so I asked the Japanese Language teacher and the students to interact with me in Japanese and ofc watched a lot of japanese shows and movies and anime

My goal for Latin is to be able to write/translate a chapter or segment of my fantasy world’s religious text by the summer. The fantasy race’s original language is Latin so it’s a big aspect of the story and I want to learn it!

I have a degree in English and Psychology with a minor in Gender studies and leadership and I still don't know what I want to do with it either and I live in a small town/city where jobs are mostly in health care. I'm trying to stay motivated in order to organize myself and continue and hopefully find something that suited me career wise.
I'm a highschool dropout but recently i really want to study history and politics, so i'm going back to basics and it's really fun. I'm 30 and i'm not surprised i decided to quite school, the way they teach kids is definitely not adapted for me... Looking at the program, i know the subjects are super interesting but they make it so boring and complicated it's oh so frustrating ! So i have to make everything from scratch, as you said in the video it makes you 100% active in learning, and I make my own lessons with many different sources (but always based on the national programme - and btw in 15 years words have changed A LOT) so it is more fun simple logic and digest ! College stresses me out too much, so I am going to teach myself so I don't have to worry about grades or due dates. I can do things when I have time, and if life interrupts me then I will be okay.

Depending on someone, whether he or she is a family member, friend, coworker, neighbor, or total stranger, is going to leave you miserable and regretful.
Parents have a tendency to view life from a lens of “practicality”, which often just means from their own experiences of not following through on their childhood /early adulthood dreams. With RUclips, the internet, and the library you can learn a lot even without their support! Also, you may even be able to get into your local university’s law school library even if you aren’t a student.
Betsyy put in your work and show them you care about it and are willing to do everything in your power to do it. Parents want what's best for their children and want to make sure that the path you choose is certain and hurdle free. But they do this out of love so since you're young you have more time which can be utilised to show them that it makes you happy and it's your purpose. I've been self learning web development. It's hard because I don't know what to learn and where to start, but I'm getting there

Having a system like a calendar is quite useful to keep you organized. I recommend it to add time blocking, due dates, and tasks
