This opening is one of my favourite's in all One piece. It's so uplifting and positive. Which is fitting for the Punk hazard arc. Considering how hopeless it is at first and everyone is at Caesar's mercy. They don't give up though, everyone comes together and pushed through. Overwhelming the odds to see a new tomorrow
Definitely done on purpose, I noticed the same. The arc is pretty heavy, the villains are the most disturbing and cruel, the moral topics are important, and yet the opening is so happy go lucky, positive to tell the viewer that there is always a better tomorrow beyond the difficulties.
I tried to avoid spoilers on the openings but my son ended up playing it before I had gotten to the Punk Hazard arc and it was an instant favorite. I'm still very partial to We Are, We Go, and Brand New World, though.

Punk Hazard is an underrated arc. I found it being an improvement from Fishman arc.
