Nice shots! I love to see wildlife in unusual places. Sometimes you don’t have to go to the parks or woods to get awesome photos. You can’t tell you’re in a parking lot! Sometimes, I shoot “urban” shots on purpose, with birds on fences, bridges, poles or rail cars. I find the contrast between wild and industrial interesting! Great work!
I’m glad I came across this video. I finally decided to purchase the 200-800. But after the comments the softness I just cancelled the order. Sticking with my ef 100-400mk2 for now.
Great video Phil… Glad to see Heather back… However, that new truck tripod looks crazy dangerous 🤣 Please be extra careful with new “heigh-tech” tripod systems… don’t want to see u in hospital again 😢😢 Great work tho ❤️
I'm about to watch this video. I use an R5 and have both the 100-500 and the 200-800. I bought the 100-500 with the R5 when upgrading from 7DmkII with 100-400 and 600 f/4. Since I got my 200-800, I've not used the 100-500. Do others have this same experience?
Phil, I don't think there is a problem with the lens on ff, on my R5 I am as happy as a pig in ****, only it may suffer with the R7, due to pixel density. I do struggle in poor light, especially bif as it hunts a lot of the time. About to post a video of kite surfers, it stuck to them like glue. Unfortunately it is Summer in the UK, so it rains every day. Keep up the good work.
Ich hatte das RF200-800 mm oft bei f9 an meiner R6 II gehabt. Es war auf jeden Fall schärfer als mein Sigma Apo 150-500mm. Ich werde versuchen, mir das Geld zusammen zu sparen, um mir das RF 200-800mm zu kaufen ☺️ liebe Grüße aus Deutschland ☺️
Phil, I’m pretty new, and have a Mac. For photos I use Lightroom. I literally just started taking short videos on my R5. What do you use to process those? Also is it possible to “pull” out a frame of the video as a photo in some format, like jpeg?
@@therehocipe Interesting. Heather and I both have the RF 100-500 and both of them are sharper than my RF 100-400 and 200-800. Maybe a repair is in order.

@@blisteringbooks2428 hopefully the focus system in the R5 Mark II will work better in low light and with the R5 Mark II.
Birds must not have taste buds 🤣 - I too have noticed that softness with the 200-800, I will try your techniques.

I dont like my RF 100-500mm 😢. I want sell it again. Why? My RF 100-400 is soooo much sharper. 😢😢😢. I dont know why. But is is so 😢😢😢.
