Swampert can literally solo the entire game. Who cares about type matchups when you can just spam Surf and Earthquake to obliterate everything and everyone😂
Looking back when I was kid. All I did was level my starter so much, that it was 30 levels ahead of its opponent. My team was my starter and my zigzagoon as my HM slave and from time to time picks up rare candies.
Not according with the first position. The best Pokémon in Emerald is Linoone! That monster is one of the two Pokémon which learn bellydrum by leveling up, and it's a normal type Pokémon so if you teach it bellydrum, substitute, shadowball and return it can wipe away all of the elite four by itself starting from level 55. It's a true monster with a good moveset
Emerald doesn't have Zangoose because it's even easier to play - just start off every battle with Swords Dance, and then you can have Slash/Return, Shadow Ball and Detect.
Guardivoir is op. Teach it psychic, thunderbolt, shadow ball, and calm mind and you’ve got a beast of a sweeper. Other op option is the dream eater hypnosis build. Swampart with ice beam, surf, earthquake, rockslide or brickbreak whatever you want for that fourth slot is also op. Salamence next, teach it flamethrower, dragonclaw, crunch, then earthquake. I use raichu because I love pika but magneton is strong too, electric is really useful for elite four. With those four you’ll pound the elite four. You can add in like skarmory/swellow, aggrons decent, breloom with giga drain, bulk up, sky uppercut, etc is good. After elite four which should be a piece of cake you can get metagross to add, as well as latios/latias which is a good fast sweeper. All of those are absolute units and I’ve beaten the game over and over with them.
as nice as cradily's typing is, it doesn't really do as well as you'd hope realistically. You're stuck with rock tomb + bullet seed as your stab moves til it reaches level 48 and gets ancientpower...which only has 5 pp. Even just holding off on those two TMs until you get lileep can be really hampering to your team in the earlygame. Bullet Seed is the only viable offensive grass option you have against Roxanne if you didn't get Treecko unless you grab a Shroomish and level it up to 16 so it can learn mega drain. The only other damaging grass-type moves cradily can learn are via TM, giga drain (which also has 5 pp) and solarbeam. It's just not as good functionally as its typing would suggest. Frankly there really aren't many good grass types in hoenn because of the lack of good grass type moves. You've got the cacnea line with needle arm, the treecko line gets leaf blade, and the only other really viable offensive grass type move in-game is magical leaf which is learned by roselia and tropius. Almost makes me want to give tropius a shot since it can also learn fly but its stats are just so bad lol
Last several times I emulated RSE, I only trained Everstone Marshtomp and EXP share Gyarados. Overleveled them and walked through the game no problem. In RS you can abuse pickup and run around with 4-5 zigzagoon at all times, farming as many rare candies as possible.
...I think you need to reconsider a bunch of this. Movepools are *crucial* and cradily takes for ever to evolve and *struggles* to learn anything useful. Im using it in an emerald playthrough and it doesnt learn ancient power until level 46, which is victory road territory. It does a really good job stalling opponents with confuse ray, ingrain, and amnesia, but there isnt many moves worth teaching. Sludge bomb is the only damaging move I am using and it isnt stab (granted giga drain TM is available so you could teach it that) but just generally speaking, cradily takes way too long to train and evolve to be of any practical use in hoenn despite it's typing.
This was my team on my original Emerald playthrough in 2005 Swampert Swellow Manectric Torkoal Seviper Grumpig You can catch wild Magneton & Electrode in New Mauville. Two Pokemon that many people forget that are excellent for the Elite Four are Linoone & Mightyena as both can solo Phoebe and due to its Normal typing Linoone is immune to Banette & Dusclops just teach Shadow Ball to Linoone. Salamence & Flygon are excellent Pokemon to use against Drake. Seviper won me the Pokemon League as it took down Wallace's Ludicolo & Milotic and the rest of his Pokemon were taken down by Manectric and I used Swellow against Whiscash. I defeated Glacia with Torkoal and Manectric.
That is a Suicune. Most of the footage was taken from my Emerald file that I used for a Really Randomized Nuzlocke in 2017. Suicune was Fire/Grass i think? I don't really remember as it was 5 1/2 years ago.
I've got a Beauty themed team right now consisting of Blaziken, Guardevoir, Flygon, Altaria, Milotic (yes I was insane enough to catch one during the playthrough), and a shiny Ludicolo, which was originally supposed to be a Ninetales, but I cant pass up a playthrough with a shiny :3
Much better off getting a Manetric modest, it learns bite that's dark special attack, easily one of the fastest mons with stab electric, electrode is horrible lol
Ok w8 so the list goes +3 trainer wise...... I meam u listen electricity types against waalace who has whiscash and a freaking earthquake weak pokemon on tate and liza. These trainers had their teams upgraded for emerald so it was an actual game so no I really don't think somehow that these got through. Also u said your not taking moves into considerarion. You will never defeated drake without ice beam and only one of your top 10 had that. U need to consider to coverage if your gonna do anything. Also Swampert is the best. It kills roxxane, Watson, flannery, fiona (ice beam), tate and liza (ice beam and surf), team magma and on Drake (ice beam). As long as I cover water types with a grass type and fighting type its over swampert can take almost anything easily. Not even on the top 20 my eye. Pellipper will get one shot by everyone. It's defences and attacks are pathetic. Flannery has rock type moves on many pokemon.
You want me to be honest? I agree. It's a shit scoring system. I didn't think at the time of recordin the scores since it was entirely based on STAB matchups without taking anythin else in account.

i’m playing emerald for the first time and that’s exactly what i’ve been doing.. 😭 i guess i should switch it up then

I used a Walrein when I first played through XD Gale of Darkness. Yes, it was hard to raise, but it was well worth the effort
Its possible to get Walrein before Citadrak Isle just equip the EXP Share on it and level it up by training on Mount Battle.
