Note: the arrow for the bayonet in the IRL stats section was intended to be pointing towards the end of the barrel (though it looks like it's pointing at the cleaning rod) unlike the M91 in BF1, the actual bayonet used was spiked (not serrated) and was mounted by twisting it onto the guns muzzle.
Another interesting fact is that the m91's rear leaf sight was in arshini not in meters. 1 arshin being 28 inches, the numbers on the side representing how many hundred arshini.
Thats called a socket mount bayonet. Also the sling mounts in game are wrong if they are saying it's a russian rifle. Those slingmounts used are thoses that are found on Finnish M91s not russian variant. Also the only Mosins to have a blade bayonet was the Finish M27s and M29s which were a decade after the war. Just a little bit of info. I like to collect historic rifles and handguns. I own a few guns that can be found in this game.
I'm kinda a gun but so this bothered me a bit, it's a common mistake but the "R" in 7.62x54R stands for "Rimmed" as the casing has a rim at the base, it does not "Russian."
Comrade Snipes - I think this make the Martini Henry more fun to use, even been so slow, is because I never have to be concerned about reloading the gun. Similar to the Tank Hunter
Interesting fact: the gun in the game is modelled on the Finnish M24, which was based on the M91. It was actually produced after the first World War! You can tell its an M24 because the sling attachments are the "hangar" type and that the barrel has a step towards the muzzle. Source: I own an M24.
Don't you get it... THE 1895 have the SAME STATS. They have the same sweetspot. Look symthic.com/bf1-compare?Mosin-Nagant_M91_Marksman_vs_Russian_1895_Sniper It's fucking disgusting to me... they fucking copy pasted a gun in game... and re-skinned it... fucking god damnit dice..
I use the Russian 1895 and I was frustrated that I only had short range infantry and super long range sniper variants. The Mosin's Marksman variant is the perfect in-between gun, which fully fleshes out the mid range sweet spot weapons!
Also Simo Häyhä aka "The White Death" who participated in the Finland-Soviet Russia Winter War got 500 kills from the Mosin Nagant and 200 more on the machine gun.
Calvin Macatangay was a Finnish M28-30 with a quarter of the barrel cut off. Used only iron sights not because of the snow but liked to keep as little of his head open.
....I don't think you're familiar with the Mosin from what you just said. It doesn't matter how much you clean it, the bolt is under high pressure when shot making it difficult to bolt. Doesn't matter if you clean it or not, I completely stripped my rifle and bolt to its parts and stock to clean the cosmoline on it, it's just a manly rifle.
If you go by the stats provided by symthic the mosin-nagant and the russian 1895 are not just similar but identical in every respect except re-load times (and in the case of the scoped variants having the option of marksman scope or sniper.)
That thing has a pistol grip a folding stock a custom scope a linear bolt action mechanism and a conversion to fire tranquilizer rounds its a fucking beast
When I use the mosin or the obrez pistol it feels a lot slower then in a video featuring the gun. The obrez has 200 rpm I believe (which is the same as the Mars) yet when I rechamber a shot it feels like reloading a revolver excluding auto and #3
only thing that annoys me about this gun is the scope is (allegedly) Canadian and made for the Canadian Ross MKIII but is used on multiple different guns instead of the typical and famous (or infamous depending on what your stand on what is) PU scope
Holy crap, this video was made very well! You really done your research and the way you show its statistics is beyond, I hope your channel grows to be succesfull 😊.
+Big Boss Yeah, my diagram is a bit misleading (I thought that after posting, but it was a bit too late then) was supposed to be pointing at the muzzle, but it looks like the arrows pointing at the cleaning rod
The Vetterli is the new king. 20-50 meter sweet spot, 4 round mag, best iron sights in the game? Only the G95 infantry and Russian Trench even come close to that cqc scout potential. 1903 Experimental is good for cqc, but has no versatility.
Um Ahmed check symthic. It has a 100 damage sweet spot from 20-50m but has a slow reload and lowest fire rate of the bolt action rifles and the lowest muzzle velocity with the martini because it's a black powder rifle.
That Shooting Guy it's funny, because hardly anyone likes the Vetterli, but when I suggested that the Berthier be added with TSNP, as a cqc scout rifle, 20-40 meter sweet spot, 3 round clips, a damage dropoff, and a 50 rpm fire rate, everyone lost their minds over how "overpowered" that would be. Now there's a rifle with a 20-50m sweet spot, 4 round clips, and a mere 3 rpm slower at 47, with no damage dropoff, and no one uses it.
You forgot to mention, that russians stole the ideas while "taking the best from both Mosin and Nagant rifles" There was a big lawsuit and International anger, but russians being russians did not give a f and kept the stolen project not giving any credit to its creator saying the didnt like his design. The exact same thing happend with the T26 tank. They ordered some vickers tankettes, reverse engineered them and sent them back saying they didnt like it, even tho they started production of modified version calling it T26.
On the Sniper i always have a loadout open called "Simo Häyhä" that has this rifle. I love this thing, its such a cool gun and the feeling of it is top notch
Just want to point out that the Mosin Nagant was named after both gunsmiths because one stole an idea for the bolt action from the other and so it was called the Mosin Nagant.
Ikr, I hate how some people say they are un-reliable. Ive only seen one break ever, and that was when a custom cartridge was loaded with some gunpowder that was for magnum revolvers... ruclips.net/video/gfiXFyIbOZw/видео.html
Jesse Simmons I currently own an original one and it feels fine, although I’m sure a modded one would be better. I kinda wanna fix the trigger pull, but it still does not make it un reliable. Would love to get a modded one but currently I’m saving for an sks
Hey Kris, any chance you could review the Model 1900 next because I do not understand the benefits of double barrel firing mode over single shot firing. I would've though it doubled the range, but no, it doesn't
Induced Rhino438 you basically get double the pellets if you fire bith, so it will do double the damage then if you would single fire it, this makes for a technically longer range slug, as it does double the damage, also the regular version will be a bit more lenient for it's one shot potential, as you can miss more pellets. One last thing to note is that the reload for 2 bullets is quicker than the single bullet reload so that can also be helpful
Smitty Jjensin tell that to the almost three thousand people I've killed with revolvers. Muh ttk. Slow reload doesn't matter if you're accurate and reload under cover. The reload has only killed me maybe a handful of times.
Halofan103 the Nagant has the slowest reload of anything in the game if you reload after firing 6 rounds. Even the empty reload is slow. That's not the worst thing about the Nagant Revolver though. The worst thing about it is its a 3 shot kill point blank with a 200 rpm rate of fire. Essentially, all it's good for is finishing wounded players, whereas you can main the other revolvers as primary weapons and go top of the board because of the ttk.
it is, its worth the $100 you pay for it, but you could spend a little more and buy an smle, or, really any other rifle. In quality, its pieces are prone to malfunction (at least with every real rifle i've seen, but these are all ww2, not ww1)
Having owned a Mosin and Mauser, its very obvious which is superior in every way... I will never understand why people on the internet/video gamers obsess over the Mosin so much. Even the 8mm Mauser round is better.
To be fair, the Mosin is pretty interesting mechanically, and the histroy surrounding it is pretty cool, not to mention they're pretty affordable since they're so many. But yeah, the Mosin is not that great at all compared to a lot of rifles to the period. I'd take a Mosin over a Lebel possibly, but I'd much rather have the Winchester M1915, though the Mosin is aurguably better then the lever gun irl.
I own two mosin nagants (m91/30’s) and I love them I have bayonets for them both and they where made in 1926 and 1928, I love shooting them and I love the history
Nice video! But in russian Mosin-Nagant rifle calls Mosin rifle. I dont know why others call it Mosin-Nagant because 90% of rifle parts created by Mosin.
I wouldn't call the Mosin "Popular" by any means, not in the wars people fought with them in at least. Russian troops would consistently straight up abandon their rifles if it meant they could get a Winchester 1895. It didnt do well with the mud. But, its not the worst option if i was forced to use it.
I was always taught the marking on the back of the firing pin needs to line up with the back of the bolt. Why no PU scope or sniper bolt? was it just a lack of effort? I love the reloads but I can just barely get stripper clips to feed properly, most of the time they just suck, maybe my mosins a bit beat up though.... all in all i love you vid but I feel like EA cut corners, or maybe I don't know enough
PU scopes came after the war, during the twentys or thirtys. And sniper bolts also came much later, which are made to clear the scope that would be mounted directly above the bolt. But sense the marksman scope doesn't directly block the bolts path, there isn't a need to turn the bolt down.
And everyone feels you on the stripper clips. Loading mosins in general is often a guessing game of if you got a decent one or a bad one, with the bad ones being more prevelent.
For whatever reason I get far less one shots than the Lebel even though they are almost the same but whatever. The 1895 infantry has abominable sights for sniping so this makes up for it, but too bad they locked away the Carbine version. Would have been cool if that one wasn't so fucked in accuracy when you try to shoot and move but maybe broken.
I own one of these there a absolute beast I real life. Using soft tip rounds it punched threw tires filled with sand and 4 back to back 2x6s 4 out of 5 rounds.
PUTIN'S NEIGHBOR Actually I like that way to unlock a weapon because it's hard and when you finally unlock it you are so happy and keeps entertaining me in the game.
I just want to know when you yters play, because there has been no game that I’ve played where a sniper can just stand in the open and pick players off all calmly. Lol
Thats correct, the first mosins equipped with optics were the M91/30 variants produced by the soviet union in the 1930's, the scope used on the in game rifle is american, and honestly split bridge receivers aren't the best platforms for mounting optics to begin with as there's alot more leeway in the bolt, which can affect your point of aim, aside from that the rifle featured in game is a german capture, as ot has been modified to accept a blade bayonet that hooks onto a lug underneath the barrel, i say german as the bayonet is a blade but has no ring wraping around the muzzle of the rifle, just like the G98 bayonet the germans modified it to accept, originally the mosin bayonet was a spike and socket affair that wrapped around the barrel using the front sight as a locking lug. These converted rifles were mostly given to poles and ottoman turks as material war aid during the conflict
I don't know where all of you get this name of rifle. In USSR no one called it Mosin-Nagant ... It's just Mosin . In ENG version of wikipedia this rifle is Mos.-Nag. but in russian version it's Mosin.
Why does my Mosin Nagant sometimes do 60 damage one a player full health, close range? Pretty sure I'm hit them in the chest as well and it does 60 damage.
Y34RZERO yea true, It's just a pet peeve of mine haha
I love how all the new Russian guns come with sweet new reloads, it's like the russian army spent a month just on how to look cool while reloading
It's to give a special touch to all the new guns being added, making them feel special from all the other guns in the Base game.
Gustavo Perez all that vodka makes them a bit.... Funky.
reloading it irl is a bitch and jams when done wrong
Jon Mine dont
Damn, you lucky. I'll prolly have to check the internal magazine
I love how the reload with the stripper clip shows how much of a pain in the ass it is to actually load a mosin nagant with a stripper clip
Alex Nolan gotta love them rims right?
@@Josh93B93 Its not really the fact that its rimmed, just badly designed to take said rimmed cartridges.
I own one it is pain to reload a stripper clip, the main issue you have to pull it out manually. And yes I have to load the same way haha.
If you use the Martini Henry you can prentend that the "reload" button dosent exist
Comrade Snipes - I think this make the Martini Henry more fun to use, even been so slow, is because I never have to be concerned about reloading the gun. Similar to the Tank Hunter

Oh...so you finally unlocked the extended barrel attachment for the Obrez pistol nice!
Interesting fact: the gun in the game is modelled on the Finnish M24, which was based on the M91. It was actually produced after the first World War! You can tell its an M24 because the sling attachments are the "hangar" type and that the barrel has a step towards the muzzle. Source: I own an M24.
IcedReaver but it also features a german bayonet lug and the sight gradients are in arshins, not meters
Dice/EA are just lazy, i dont necessarily think they put to much work in making sure it was correct.
In Soviet Russia... Mosin-Nagant fires you
KriticalKris good video, my new favorite rifle
KriticalKris in ww1, Soviet Union not in control
KriticalKris I
KriticalKris do the fedorov next :3
In Soviet Russia, you don't control tank, tank controls you.
I think a sniper variant wouldve suited this gun better, especially with its mid-long range sweet spot.
AceRadical But then it would be the exact same as the Russian 1895
Door Explore exactly, the russian 1895 has a sniper variant so why have one on the mosin

Holy crap, DICE actually animated the correct charging oft he rifle as well!
Exactly what I thought. I love the bolt animation, It looks so smooth... Its the reason I'm gonna unlock it (plus it's an iconic rifle).

Awesome guide! Been looking forward to the dlc videos
Wow, i havent seen these videos in years....its really nostalgic seeing this again.

Exelent point about the "three Line Rifle" thats actually how Russians call it to this day.

Honestly, I saw one video and subscribed. Your reviews are incredible and so unique because you provide a ton of history on the weapon. I love it!
I just want this weapon to be like "The End" from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
I built one with a scout scope and an akms74 folding stock

The 1895 infantry has abominable sights for sniping so this makes up for it, but too bad they locked away the Carbine version. Would have been cool if that one wasn't so fucked in accuracy when you try to shoot and move but maybe broken.
20 kills with mars automatic is certainly harder
Idk, i cant use the veterli because of the ironsights, but i LOVE the mosin nagant in close range, with the nagant revolver
Ive shot a couple of these irl theyre great guns if you aim youll hit it
I own one of these there a absolute beast I real life. Using soft tip rounds it punched threw tires filled with sand and 4 back to back 2x6s 4 out of 5 rounds.
What's your fov at? It looks low
Wait.... no glaring with the marksman Version? didn ´t know that
That should summon a lot for you. I bet you must have been confused getting killed by marksman rifles.
PUTIN'S NEIGHBOR actually not so Far 😁but now that i know i will defenitely use the mosin marksman instead 😜
M. Martini IF you can even unlock it. Them 15 tripwire kills are impossible. So far I have one only and it was pure luck.
PUTIN'S NEIGHBOR i unlocked it already. Played tdm and it took 2 evenings 👍🏻
PUTIN'S NEIGHBOR Actually I like that way to unlock a weapon because it's hard and when you finally unlock it you are so happy and keeps entertaining me in the game.
This is just a re skin of the Russian 1890 lever action gun or it used to be it had the exact same stats
I get 60 hit points with most of my hits with the mosin
Do the nagant revolver next
Ah yes the garbage rod.
I just want to know when you yters play, because there has been no game that I’ve played where a sniper can just stand in the open and pick players off all calmly. Lol
I got a 1943 Mosin Nagant, it's a great gun and a lot of fun to shoot. But For the game why wouldn't they put the actaul Nagant scope on it?
TankingThruHistory I'm pretty sure the traditional scope for the Mosin-Nagant wasn't invented until WWII. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I can't think of a name ya you're probably correct
cool mine is a 1941 M38
Joshua O'Bryan Thanks for clarifying, I don't know much about firearms haha
I don't know where all of you get this name of rifle. In USSR no one called it Mosin-Nagant ... It's just Mosin . In ENG version of wikipedia this rifle is Mos.-Nag. but in russian version it's Mosin.
Well if you want to get THAT technical, its called the Three Line Rifle.
*freakin mosin nagant*
I prefer the globe sight compared to the m91 blade sight.
Why does my Mosin Nagant sometimes do 60 damage one a player full health, close range? Pretty sure I'm hit them in the chest as well and it does 60 damage.
Can you do a general Liu And the verterli rifle review please??
Kris please do a video about the vetterli
I don't get the point of this gun, it is literally the Russian 1895 with a slower reload (Symthic.com) is there something special about it?
Sir KeK it’s history. It’s got similar stats as the ammo used is the same. Idk why else
jdc527 Gaming yeah it makes sense history wise but they need to find ways to distinguish it gameplay-wise
Its kind of hard to due to the fact that they fired the same cartage and had similar barrel lengths...
