Thank you for sharing such valuable tips. I admire your work! P.S. I recognized T-Rex Bag immediately from other video. That's the bag I used for my nephew's birthday.
Hi Elizabeth! I want to be actively posting my work on Instagram but I heard that companies buying licensed work want to purchase art that has never been seen by the public before. How can we show our work on social media to get art directors or license buyer's attention if we also need to keep our work secret? Thank you!
Hi Audrey, I've heard others say they are worried about this same thing but honestly, you're much better off getting it out there. Our posts only go out to a small selection of our followers because of the algorithm anyhow, so until you have clients coming back to you for new art, don't keep it hidden! But also: send direct emails because IG is great but nothing beats a direct connection!
I am from India, and experienced designer but new to pattern design stuff. I use Photoshop n to some extent illustrator. How to find companies to pitch my patterns to sell? And what costing / quote, one should keep, if encounter a situation where you are asked selling price of the pattern??
Great tips, thanks!
Glad it was helpful!

I appreciate all the info. It is very confusing in the beginning to know what direction to go with your art work and how to get out there with it.

Is it not best to share spoonflower or behance portfolio having pattern design?? Just a a query came in mind @ 4:58, listening to your sentence.
So is it still worth sending work to a company with inhouse designers in your opinion?
Depends what you're going for, but yes, sometimesa company works with both in-house and freelance or licensed artists.
What do you mean by co-ordinates here??
Several patterns or elements of a collection that coordinate with each other, usually by theme and palette.
