Just FYI you always roll a minimum of 1 die. At 14:50 you stated that they would not be able to elude at all. Page 3 states "Conversely, regardless of all penalties, you always roll at least one die"
For some reason I have a soft spot for this game. The random elements don't bother me as much as they would in other instances, given that there are so many ways to mitigate these elements through character ability and expansions. Having someone play the necromancer makes for a tense game!
They do very little reselling to other retailers. Turnaround time is about 2 weeks since they don't keep games in stock and they are a Print on Demand company.
I haven't yet. Too many other games to play and purchase. Hopefully someday. Darkest Night is available from both the publisher Victory Point Games as well as Cardhaus.
I really like your videos, the energy and enthusiasm is great, however I think you should make notes to follow before hand as you tend to miss a lot of steps and have several corrections in your annotations. The result is that the a general understanding of the game comes across, but your strategy is always a lot different than it would actually be.
***** He receives a LOT of games and does his best to relay the essentials to his viewers. I never use his run-throughs as absolute mirrors of the rulebook. I use him for creating an essence of a game, helping me decide if it'd work for me. I think you're technically right about being proper with the rulebook, but in the case of Rahdo, he's more of an elaborate "salesman" of a game than a staunch representative. :) Hell, he runsthrough games he would normally avoid just to do right by us. I think he deserves credit for what he provides.
I never thought I'd say this, but you really need to take these down and do a whole new series. That is an uber-critical mistake that basically makes the video useless to either figure out how to play or how good the game is. Glad that this is a one-time catastrophic error. Was really looking forward to this, but man, this is bad.
i'm not sure it's that bad. It shows the game being challenging, but the rules specifically recommend ramping the difficulty up to a level even higher than what I'm demonstrating (starting with 2 blights everywhere in the world, and the countdown at 5 instead of 1, makes the game much more challening than the goof I made, which proved to be an annoyance to the heroes and not much else). And I just issued my first 'corrections' video that all my subscribers see, specifically to address this. I *genuinely* don't feel that this goof changes the way the game feels to play... the hero actions are still the same, the necromancer still functions the same, the quests work the same, the overall game structure doesn't change, the end goals are still the same, etc. I just overstated the power of a few of the blights that appeared in a couple of rounds. For half of the video, half of the adventurers didn't face blights at all, so they weren't even effected the tiniest bit by my gaff. Plus, there's the fact that I literally don't have the game anymore (sent away via post today, which is why I had to get the vid up yesterday). So that's an extra complication...
***** I ordered this game because of your video run-through. I think a person who plays lots of these types of games can get the gist of the game play through your videos. I'm not sure why anyone would be critical of your videos unless Scott is sponsoring you in some way. Otherwise, great job and keep up the good work and best of luck on the last week of funding for your KS.
Paul Graf I wish I could sponsor his KS as I love his channel so much. That's why him making such a critical error that affected his entire strategy, thus making the entire play-through a waste of time imho. There are much better play-throughs of this game on the internet, which is really rarely the case with his excellent ones. That's why I posted the comment because I love his channel so much. The other ones that make really egregious errors like this I don't watch anymore. My first Undead Viking video was Descent 2.0, and he had no clue how the armor dice worked. That was my first and last of his I watched. The Lonesome Gamer ruined The Lost Legion Mage Knight expansion to the point that anyone watching that would never buy it, but when I pointed out where he made the error that led to the rant, he basically told me "well, I'm not going to fix it or address it." so he's out too.
Scott Smart I totally understand. However, regardless of the error, I jumped online and purchased the game right after watching his three vids on it. So, to me, no harm, no foul. As for the other game reviewers, I watch the ones that I feel are doing an overall great job, including rahdo and ricky royal. Thanks for your comment.

Love the runthroughs, but darn you play some hard to find games.

***** Cool. Ok I'll check out the company's website instead. Thank you.
Same coast different country, but good to know it's still available.
kevin3003 Did you ever end up getting this for yourself? It's been a year and I'm curious if you found a copy.

What happends when in the same place are 2 identical blights? The powers ad up or only one effect is taken in to account?
who's watching in 2020
24:18 - Monk's turn. I think you skipped his 'Event' card at the beginning of his turn.
thanks, note added

***** if i made and followed notes, i wouldn't be having much fun,a nd the energy & enthusiasm would wane to be sure :)
Well then maybe make you should try to know the game better before you do a video to help with presentation.
***** i do the best i can :)

I'm sorry, just a quick clarification please. To what great mistake are you referring?
