It seems like Pokemon is returning to its roots, when the games were named after colours. The last games that were named after colours came out a decade ago (B2W2) so imo its a nice change of pace

I've still not done that sudowoodo mission, I just look at him every time I pass by
The whole ingo and emmet thing actually breaks my heart, like when that comic came on screen I knew exactly what it was and I felt my heart shatter.
Think about it, you spend almost every single day with your twin sibling to the point where you work together in the same exact thing and are near inseparable, then one day your twin goes missing without a trace and a body is never found. They're never seen elsewhere in the world and all they can assume is that they died for unknown causes somehow and you're expected to live and cope with this unexpected loss. Every single day you tire just from trying to pull yourself up out of bed, the job you two worked at together feeling less like a fun activity to do with your sibling and more like a grueling chore that only reminds you of them. Not to mention that you're stuck with the pokemon they left behind, some of them maybe not even fully grasping that their trainer is considered dead and won't come back, and *cant* come back. Every time you look at them you're reminded of the thing you lost, and while you aren't bitter towards them and still treat them as your own, it hurts. It's like a shooting pain through your chest, like a dagger digging deeper and deeper until you cease to feel it anymore.

15:00 - It's said in game that Volo was abandoned as a child (or heavily implied through his comments about Giratina), so Cogita must be his grandmother, aunt, or just the Matriarch of the entire family.
It's entirely possible they have no relation to each other and their bloodlines merge later on down the line and leads to Cynthia.

Decidueye is only seemingly humanoid because of the type of owl it's based on. It's still built like an owl but you can see the full length of its legs which you can't always see on owls in real life.

As someone with a twin brother that I'm really close with I don't even want to think about how Emmet felt when Ingo disappeared that comic made me so sad
Arceus almighty I'm trying my best to not tear up after seeing that comic! Seeing that comic is just so heartbreaking! It's just a STAB to the heart (WHY DID I HAVE TO MAKE THAT PUN?!?! I'M TRYING NOT TO CRY AND NOW I'M SAD _AND_ MAD!!!), it feels just like whenever I see the fanart of Ahsoka Tano in regards to Anakin's turn to the dark side (one of the fan comics has her meeting Luke, saying that she wishes he could've met Anakin and not Vader, but then breaks down crying when Luke tells her that he came back to the light and that he _did_ get to meet him. The other is an image depicting her during Star Wars Rebels hugging Vader as she cries, with words in the top right corner saying "I won't leave, not this time." It breaks my heart every time I end up seeing those).
ARRRRGGGGGGGGHHHH!!!! Now I'll never see that moment in the game in the cave with Ingo the same again!! When (not if, I do plan on obtaining a Palkia in an Origin Ball as well) I play the story again and get to that point I might _actually_ starting crying!! And the worst part is that I don't think we can really blame Volo for it too! From the sounds of it Ingo had already been there for enough time that he likely would've had to take some kind of tests with the Pearl Clan to become a Warden, tests that would have required being there _much_ longer than we had been! *ARCEUS DAMN IT!!!!! I'M GONNA MURDER WHATEVER ULTRA BEAST OR OTHER ENTITY FOR DOING THAT TO POOR EMMET!!!!!!*
Just saying, if Ingo makes it back to roughly the same time as he left, there's a good shot Emmet would never know he was gone without being told
@@skylergarza8371 I suppose that would be the "good" ending (if you ignore the new age difference between the two...depending on how long Ingo has been there before returning). But it's just too easy to think about the bad ending. I could even see Emmet going into full on depression and starting doing some of the things like resorting to trying to drink his sorrow away, tiredly searching for his brother until his demise, pushing away anyone else he's close to due to despair, or (and Arceus forbid this one happen) possibly take his own life (just _thinking_ that made me want to cry, and _writing_ it just broke the dam).
If time flows in parallel then the bad ending is a guarantee...and I don't like the bad ending at all, it's just too depressing (Arceus almighty! This game just keeps giving more and more reasons for why it is the most mature Pokémon game! Death, overbearing skepticism, Pokédex entries like Snorlax and Basculegion, Volo's insanity, powerful animals attacking you, and then you add in this deeper theory that isn't hard to start thinking about and it really proves just how much more mature of an audience this game seems to be made for)

Decidueye isn’t really “human”, it’s just a big Owl. That’s literally just what Owls look like normally 🤣
The only thing human-like about it is its emo haircut (which do approve. Gives it just the right amount of attitude, without making it humanoid)
And Primarina is part sea lion(I think?) and part mermaid. Mermaids are half human so it’s kinda justified
@@w1nterdays Primarina is the only "humanoid" starter that I can accept, because its based off of sirens/mermaids which use their human like appearance and majestic voice to bewitch sailors. So by making primarina look somewhat like a human it makes her into an extremely cool siren.

I'm really hoping that Sprigatito's final evolution would be a Grass/Steel cat like Puss In Boots, so I'm glad that I'm not the only one that thought that.
I'm personally hoping for a Grass/Fairy to represent all of the beautiful flowers of the Iberian Peninsula. But a Puss In Boots-like evolution could be cool too.

Agreed. If Quaxly turns into a pirate duck, it makes sense given the design for the first form. Currently, I'm skeptical Sprigatito (my personal favorite but they're all good) or Fuecoco have a reason to.

A friend and I had talked about how it felt like Gen 9 was coming too soon because Gen 8 still felt sorta new. You really put the whole yearly release schedule thing into perspective.

I think I have an answer to the meaning of "expanding the sky." You could do it by pushing back the ozone layer further into the atmosphere with the power of Rayquaza. With pokemon logic/video game logic, this could increase the size of the troposphere (where most airplanes and most birds fly in). It would give flying type pokemon more space to fly in. It also might be able to push the stratosphere (where supersonic jets fly and some birds can fly in) into the atmosphere which would also increase the overall size the world's atmosphere. This idea could also increase the size of Rayquaza's domain! Long live Team Sky!

Imo, the Emboar line is the worst starter line ever. Not a single evolution stage whose looks I don't hate.

9:00 You're discounting the possibility that Fuecoco pulls a Snivy and his arms and legs fall off.
Badger isn't on the zodiac. If the first evolution doesn't fit makes the zodiac theory wrong, Fuecoco proves it wrong. If the final form of Fuecoco can prove it right if it becomes a snake, then Typhlosion ended it back in Gen 2. Fox as dog is a stretch, but badger being the rat is ridiculous.

For the last thing; that little thing is meant to portray the dynamax band as well. So the starlike shape we have seen now should in some form relate to a new gimmick, but it feels near impossible to guess what it'd be

I have two hopes for a possible new gimmick:
1. Don’t be as dumb as dynamaxing turned out to be.
2. Don’t be as broken as mega evolutions. If it’s something similar to megas, don’t just buff the Pokémon that don’t need them! Give love to some of the Pokémon not used as much or are considered “not good”.
Dynamaxing actually isn't really that dumb as a feature, people just don't think it's creative because "haha pokemon get big"

There is also Gigantamax.
Also, Dynamax is horribly unbalanced in Singles, but it makes for a very interesting dynamic in Doubles.

Considering the fact that Snivy's final evolution loses its limbs and becomes a snake, it wouldn't surprise me if Fuecoco would end up the same, and thus becoming a snake and reviving the fire type zodiac theory again.
Having said that, I pray that I am wrong and it does become a crocodile. I've currently got my eyes on Sprigatito right now, but as Mikey said, my opinion won't be final until I see the final starter evolutions.
Here's something that blew a lot of people's minds: Serperior still has arms. I'd definitely choose the water starter of gen 9, but we should really wait for the final forms in order to actually choose one.

While there are similarities dragons aren't reptiles. Even in classic legends the reference to dragons being cold blooded was about their temperament not their biology. Not trying to be critical here just spreading lore trivia.

I figured it would be announced because they would want to build off the hype of Pokemon Legends Arceus
Remember how Gen 3 lasted for 4 full years before Gen 4 happened? Or how we actually got to spend a lot of time with Munchlax during Gen 3 with May catching 1? You have to wonder why Pokemon doesn't do that anymore?
The proper time is whenever they decide to release it.
I once saw a comic about Ingo when he arrived to Hisui, he was given the pearl clan's outfit and tossed away his damaged shirt, but when it came time to toss his jacket and hat, he couldn't and instead put them back on, like he lost his memory, but for some reason his subway leader outfit holds some sentimental value he can't describe nor remember where it came from.
Now I don't fully believe the zodiac fire starter theory but we haven't seen fuecoco's final evo yet and if Litten can go from a cat to a wrestler or Sobble to a sniper spy thing I am pretty sure anything is possible.
Yeah, exactly what I was thinking. The zodiac theory is _unlikely,_ sure, but we probably shouldn't say it's completely disproven because what if Fuecoco's final form is some snake/crocodile hybrid or something?

I do think there are other Zodiacs. Fenneken is to me a start of a different zodiac. So it is technically still a Zodiac thing. Like for Grass is Prehistoric creatures. Water has weapon traits

Assuming the zodiac theory _is_ correct, we've had (in generation order) the dragon, rat, rooster, monkey, pig, dog, tiger and rabbit, meaning the ones we still need are ox, goat, horse and snake. If Fuecoco's evolution is going to fit the pattern, it would need to be one of those.
Fuecoco MIGHT still fit, depending on how serpentine the other forms are. After all, Cyndaquil isn't exactly a rat, but it gets counted.
Just as Litten isn't as much of a tiger as Incineroar is, and Charmander isn't anywhere as dragon-y as Charizard.

I still dont get how it works. Like.... People do know that Fenniken is a fox, right? Like its called the fox type pokemon and it looks NOTHING like a dog. Why are people saying gen 9 os when they break the cycle.
@@aldercyng7287 I guess it’s cuz foxes are still canines, would be the same if they did a fire donkey or zebra starter instead of a horse. They give themselves some creative liberty but still stick close enough to the original Chinese zodiac animal, but if Fuecoco isn’t serpentine at all when it evolves then the theory is disproven.
Right? I still think it will evolve in something that resembles the Mayan/Aztec god Quetzalcoatl, a feathered serpent with a crocodilian like head and fused with the hot pepper theme. Fuecoco has some yellow feathery things in his head already. Maybe it will be Fire/Flying in the final stage.

So, there is the theory that Fuecoco will either evolve into a snake, or represents the ox based on what a male crocodile is called. But this entire theory became a stretch when Fennekin came around.
Foxes are also from the Canidae family.
In Japan, crocodiles are considered bigger, more bitey water snakes. Foxes are basically considered sneaky dogs.

@@MrKlausbaudelaire But the Zodiac animal is the _domestic_ dog, specifically, which is descended from wolves and not foxes; so Fennekin still breaks the theory since it's not based on a domestic dog.
@@Worldpeacekid Still, its not like they have the obligation to deliver us the EXACT animals of the Zodiac when they could be just lightly referencing them. Pokemons is all about refeences, sometimes sublte, sometimes corny, and sometimes blatant.

I think it's in the snake Category, because Charizard is a Dragon and Delphox is categorized as a Dog. It's not literal but it's as close as it can be.

The Hog Rider card is unlocked from the Spell Valley (Arena 5). He is a quick building-targeting, melee troop with moderately high hitpoints and damage. He appears just like his Clash of Clans counterpart; a man with brown eyebrows, a beard, a mohawk, and a golden body piercing in his left ear who is riding a hog. A Hog Rider card costs 4 Elixir to deploy.
Strategy
His fast move speed can boost forward mini tanks like an Ice Golem in a push. At the same time, he can also function as a tank for lower hitpoint troops such as Goblins as he still has a fair amount of health. Most cheap swarms complement the Hog Rider well, as they are nearly as fast as him and usually force more than one card out of the opponent's hand.
The Hog Rider struggles with swarms, as they can damage him down and defeat him quickly while obstructing his path. Barbarians in particular can fully counter him without very strict timing on the defender's part, though be wary of spells.
A Hunter can kill the Hog Rider in 2 hits if placed right on top of it. However, if you place something in front of the Hog Rider, the Hunter's splash will damage the Hog Rider and hit the card in front of it more.
The Hog Rider in conjunction with the Freeze can surprise the opponent and allow the Hog Rider to deal much more damage than anticipated, especially if the opponent's go-to counter is a swarm, or swarms are their only effective counter to him. Skeletons and Bats will immediately be defeated by the spell, while Spear Goblins, Goblins, and Minions will be at low enough health to be defeated by a follow up Zap or Giant Snowball.
However, this strategy isn't very effective against buildings as the Hog Rider will take a while to destroy the building, giving the opponent ample time to articulate another counter.
Against non-swarm troops, it can deal a lot of damage during the freeze time, but this can allow the opponent to set up a massive counterpush. For this reason, players should either only go for a Hog Rider + Freeze when they have other units backing it up from a counterattack, or if the match is about to end and they need to deal as much damage as possible.
It is not a good idea to send in a Hog Rider simply to destroy a building, especially if it is the only building targeting unit available, as defeating Crown Towers becomes substantially more difficult. Spells or simply waiting out the lifetime of the building are more effective. The exception to this is an Elixir Collector placed in front of the King's Tower. If a Hog Rider placed at the bridge, he can destroy the Collector for a positive Elixir trade, though the damage from both Princess Towers will usually mean he does not survive to deal any damage to them. However, if the opponent sends in defending troops, it can be an opportunity to gain spell damage value.
In a deck with several low-cost cards, it might be worth it to simply send the Hog Rider against one building. These decks shuffle their card rotation quick enough, that they will arrive to their next Hog Rider before the next building arrives in the opponent's card rotation.
Long-ranged troops like Musketeer and Flying Machine can snipe those buildings, preserving some of the Hog Rider's health, possibly allowing it to get some Tower damage.
When there are buildings placed in the middle to counter the Hog Rider, understanding the placement of the Hog Rider and the type of building placed can help the Hog Rider to bypass certain buildings.
Passive buildings such as spawners and Elixir Collector have a larger hitbox than defensive buildings; which means that if a passive building was placed 3 tiles away from the river in the middle of the opponent's side, then it is impossible for the Hog Rider to bypass that placement as the Hog Rider will get pulled to that building.
Defensive buildings have a smaller hitbox than a passive building, which means if that if a defensive building was placed three tiles away from the river in the middle of the opponent's side, a Hog Rider placed at the very left or right side of the Arena may be able to bypass it due to its smaller hitbox.
If the player has a building already placed down in the center of the arena, and the opponent tries to bypass it with a Hog Rider at the edge of the arena, they can use certain air troops to push the Hog Rider towards the building as it jumps over the river, effectively denying the bypass attempt. They must be already hovering over the correct placement, as very quick reflexes are required to correctly perform this technique.
For Bats, Skeleton Dragons, and Minion Horde, they should be placed right in front of the Hog Rider as soon as it is deployed.
For Minions, Skeleton Barrel, Mega Minion, Flying Machine, Electro Dragon, Baby Dragon, Inferno Dragon, Balloon, and Lava Hound, stagger the above placement one tile to the right if the Hog Rider is placed on the left side of the arena, and vice versa.
They can also use ground troops to achieve the same result. Something like an Ice Golem deployed at the Hog Rider’s landing spot will obstruct his path and force him to go around the unit, which causes him to be closer to the building instead of the Crown Tower.
The Hog Rider can kite Very Fast non-building targeting troops due to his own Very Fast speed and building only targeting if he is placed on the fourth tile from the bridge, slightly into the opposite lane. He can also stall grounded units when placed right at the bridge. He will pull them towards him while deploying, and then be untargetable by them when he jumps over the bridge. After landing, he will pull them back. This can be useful when the player needs to deal damage in the same lane they are defending. It will also help separate troops behind a tank in a large push.
A Tornado placed on the second tile front of the player's King's Tower and staggered two tiles towards the Princess Tower will activate it without any damage dealt to the Princess Tower, helping them in defending future pushes. This can also be a method of mitigating all damage dealt to a Princess Tower, but doing this more than three times may result in the King's Tower's health being low enough to be targeted directly, opening up the possible threat of a back door three crown. A better alternative is to pull the Hog away from the Princess Tower into the attacking range of all three Crown Towers, which will negate all damage as long as none of them are already distracted
A very powerful combo is the Hog Rider, the Musketeer, and the Valkyrie, typically referred to as the Trifecta. The Musketeer will defend against most troops, while the Valkyrie can protect her and the Hog Rider from swarms or high damage units. The Hog Rider is used to deal damage to the tower.
This can be effectively countered by Lightning, one-shotting the Musketeer and severely damaging both the Valkyrie and Hog Rider. The Minion Horde is also effective, but the enemy can Zap them and the Musketeer will one-shot them all. Even if the Musketeer is defeated, the Hog Rider and Valkyrie will have enough time to severely damage the Tower.
The Hog Rider should be placed behind the Valkyrie to give it a boost so that it stays in front of the Hog Rider, protecting it.
A Hog Rider combined with a Goblin Barrel can be awkward for the opponent to defend against. Timing it so that the Hog Rider is tanking the tower shots for the Goblins is the most effective way to deal damage. However, a Barbarian Barrel can shut this down with minimal Tower damage for a positive Elixir trade, as long as the Goblin Barrel was placed directly on the Tower.
Pairing the Hog Rider with the Balloon can deal devastating damage. If executed properly, the Hog Rider will act as a tank while the Balloon threatens to deal massive damage. The Hog Rider can also destroy any buildings attempting to slow down the combo. However, this combo is very vulnerable to swarms and anti-air cards as neither of the troops target anything but buildings. Additionally, they are easy to separate, due to the disparity in move speeds. Alternatively, the Hog Rider and the Balloon can be played in different lanes to spread the opponent's defenses thin. However, a building or Tornado can bring them back together for an easier defense.
The Hog Rider can be paired with the Lumberjack as both a swarm bait and damage combo. It is a very fast combo with an extremely high damage output potential, so the enemy will likely try to counter it with a swarm. If this happens, use a spell like Arrows to render the opponent defenseless. If they manage to defeat the Lumberjack, the dropped Rage will make the Hog Rider even more dangerous than it normally is.
A fast and deadly combination is the Hog Rider and Mini P.E.K.K.A. combo. Both units are fast but the Mini P.E.K.K.A. does much more damage and does not attack only buildings so the Mini P.E.K.K.A. can deal with troops like the Executioner and Musketeer. However, this combo can be defeated with swarms like Skeleton Army, which will defeat both of them since neither of them can deal area damage. They are also unable to target air troops, so the Minion Horde can stop this easily.
A risky play is to deploy the Hog Rider at the bridge as soon as the match starts. If the opponent does not react fast enough, the Hog Rider will deal a significant amount of damage to the Princess Tower. This can also allow the player to quickly scout the opponent's deck if they happen to react to him fast enough.

Samuel Oak, in the manga (and hinted in the games), used to be Indigo League's Grand Champion back in his prime, and now he's a professor handing over starters and helping new trainers.
So what if every Pokemon League Champion was the primary professor of thier own region. To be more precise, Michael should *give them a field/theme speciality* - like Oak's speciality are relationships between humans and Pokemon, and Rowan's are Pokemon evolutions
He did the reverse with every professor being champion and gave them full teams online with their research themes already.

One thing I will say, Japan actually really likes humanoid animals from what I've heard. I think this is why so many of the starters are so humanoid
I missed with a 90% accuracy move 9 times in a row, resulting in me losing the Garchomp path of Solitude in Legends Arceus over and over. Trying to use stone edge is pain.

this is especially bad when you're doing massive mass outbreaks. I got into a multi battle with 3 alpha arcanines, missed one move, and they proceeded to knock out half my team before i even got a chance to move again
