"...Diane Bish go all medieval on her organ..." Now, that was priceless.
This is the first I've heard of this brand. They appear to be pretty good. I may give them a try sometime. It is good to know they don't have issues with holes in the bottom of the speakers (crickets).
P.S. Helmholtz back in its element. Making the calls as it sees them.

That’s a really well designed speaker with the exception of the slightly elevated treble in room which could easily be EQ’d. This makes me happy because I’m using that Seas tweeter in a build now.

  • @PeterMMMMM
    @PeterMMMMM 5 месяцев назад +2

This speaker has some really high quality components in them. Just 2 tweeter, and 2 woofers come up to $500 usd before shipping. You still need to build a cabinet, design a crossover and purchase the parts for the crossover. It's a high value $2000 speaker. A lot of bang for your buck, even if it's $2000. Amazing.
Also, the very close distance between the tweeter and woofer is also proof that they know what they are doing. You don't see that very often.

There's a lawyer here who has some kind of deep hang up/obsession with losing business because of people spelling his name wrong. He comes on with his TV commercials and keeps saying "That's Bagin with only ONE G. He even visually counts it out on his fingers, B is thumb, A is forefinger ........etc., N is pinky finger. He has some kind of horrid fear that potential clients are spelling his name wrong with 2 G's when they look him up to contact him to take their case; and they can't find his number. It's Bagin with one G; not Bilbo Baggins like the character in the book Lord Of The Rings. I altered his real name on here slightly, so as to avoid any potential trouble.
Quote Of The Day in keeping with the subject of shame. It is by Mark Twain:

On another opportunity for a lawsuit front, maybe get the new Epos ES7N bookshelf speakers in for a review. @@scientificaudiophile Thank you kindly. Now, how long until the review for the FiiO Q15? I can note down some things that I've noticed while using them for the past (almost) 6 months.
1: When paired with brand new IEMs, using the slow mode is preferrable, as otherwise it sounds kind of artificially analytical.
2: There is some software issue that makes it so that when the MQA mode being turned ON, audio is delayed by almost half a second. This issue has occurred for me one time while using PEQ Bypass mode, but then it worked without issue on MQA mode, as well as on any of the other PEQ modes.
3: It works well for things like retro gaming, where you split audio from the HDMI cable into a Coax cable, and use the Q15 rather than the monitor or TV for converting the digital signal into analogue that can then be sent out into some desktop speakers (note that the speakers have to be active speakers and have a headphone jack, as otherwise the audio is way too quiet - though I only tested with max audio being limited to 50 rather than the default 120 on the Q15)
4: One of the cables that come with the Q15 are a bit too short for my tastes, as depending on the laptop you use the Q15 with, you'll want a longer cable to avoid having the laptop spew all its hot air onto the DAC.
5: Either the Q15 colours the audio, or budget entry-level active speakers do not mesh well with the crisp audio that these output, as I noticed my Creative Gigaworks T-40 II speakers becoming muffled when playing "Kitsune^2 - SKUGGIN' AROUND" using the Q15 connected to my laptop - this issue did not happen when I played the song directly from my phone into the speakers. As you can infer from my prior comment, I'm looking into better speakers so that I can verify if the Q15 colours the audio or not.
Closing thoughts: I'm currently waiting on the Verum 2s that I pre-ordered yesterday, so that I can test the Q15 on headphones as well. All in all, I've been really happy with the Q15, as it noticeably improved the audio on my entry-level IEMs (7Hz x Criancle Zero: 2) compared to using my laptop headphone jack. (also, I really enjoy Eletech's Baroque eartips, they both sound great, and are so much easier to fit onto the nozzle of the zero 2's compared to the DUNU Velvet and Spinfit W1)

quality drivers are the key, that's what built JBL from nothing , back when Lansing hired local seamstress to edge wind his flat copper wire coils , because they were used to precision work sewing in the garment factory down the street. He also invented the coffee break, as a relief from the tedium . Completely different company today.
The SEAS company was started by a doctor doing hearing research, who was unable to find the accuracy he needed for his research, so built his own drivers, which spawned the company. " Medical grade" custom drivers are hard to beat.

What !!...No holes in the bottom of the speaker. How will people wiith no chairs in the house, who listen lying down on the floor, be able to mount them on the wall, with the drivers pointing downward? Not as comfortable lying on a hard floor, but you meet a lot of nice spiders. Also what about people in apartments with a noise complaining neighbor living above them? If they are not able to mount their speakers on the wall from the speaker's bottom, so the sound points downward, they could get kicked out of their apartment! Inexcusable in my opinion.
Some people can only play their speakers with the drivers facing forward instead of downward, once or twice a year, when their upstairs neighbor goes on vacation. I used to have an extremely obese woman living above me. You could hear her every footstep when she walked around, and she had the nerve to complain about noise?
Did you ever notice how long it takes extremely obese people to get out of their car? They open the car door and then just sit there awhile. Like they have to really psyche themselves up for a while, before making such a monumental effort. They always open the car door for a while first, before climbing out in 10 or 15 minutes. This obese lady from upstairs started taking 25 minutes before getting out of her parked car in the parking lot. I got out my high power astronomical telescope, put in the image inverter for land viewing, to see what was going on, and I discovered what was taking her so long to get out of her car. She was wolfing down hamburgers, from a fast food place! ... She knew the parking lot side was out of view from the windows in her apartment. If she would have brought the hamburgers into her apartment, she would have had to buy some for her husband.

Very few people know that Leo Tolstoy was paid by the word for writing the novel War And Peace. It has long been known as one of the longest books ever written. Leo knew what he was doing, and the book showed what a shrewd businessman he was. I am seriously considering writing an even longer novel than that. It would have to be over 560,000 words. Unless I learned how to write in Russian. Then I would only have to exceed 460,000 words, as that is how many words the original Russian version had, before it was translated to English. They must be more efficient over there in Europe. As a punishment my parents once made me spend my entire summer vacation from grade school reading War And Peace. I remember I finally finished the last page on August the 18th, so I could have about a week left to go out and play, before school started again. Of course my friends figured I had abandoned them by that time, and when my pale skinned self finally re-entered the world of fresh air and sunlight, they all thumbed me. from the nose. The old Flying Fingers. But what did I care! I was wordly now, from reading Wat And Peace. The whole thing; the whole enchilada

name of a sh*t town in the UK and
there is a Bank also called the Halifax
which started in Halifax in 1852. If
Audio Craftsman knew that they may
well have skipped that name straight
    away.

It appears they named their speakers after cities in Canada. The Kingston made me think of a town in New York that was burned by the British. I'm assuming that the Canadian city didn't have such a bad outcome.

Tekton speakers have the same color orange as for buying direct from manufacturer you lose money cause it's a no name brand when you go to resale it I learned the hard way when I bought Tekton speakers I was disappointed

True, but if you sell the speakers as being custom Scientific Audiophile Orange, you will triple your investment.
