      I've tried a few, and while I love those products (n914, diy) I was always worried about being pigeon holed to working a single panel at a time. Especially since I dont always have access to work in a controlled environment. I am by no means a professional. I just obsessed with keeping my personal coated cars clean and the experience that comes with doing so..
      And then....When a Hero comes along...
      My whole experience has me rethinking my maintenance approach.
      Depending on how dirty my vehicle/s are ( soft Japanese paint) i'll pretreat with apc, then foam with shampoo (currently phoenix EOD apex auto wash v2, i'll have to try ADS Shampoo+)... rinse.
      This is where I might change my approach. As I have in the past used a bucket wash with my foaming shampoo, i always worried about micro marring. I might just from here on out use hero as rinseless wash as my contact wash. The release of dirt and road film from my wash media as beyond anything i've ever experienced while doing contact with foaming shampoo with multiple mitts. Hero's ability to clean and be lubricious surpasses my experience with a bucket wash. Added plus is i dont have to rinse after contact wash and can do whole vehicle at once. Just follow up with drying towel (maybe drying aid).
      I think my mind will be eased with this approach especially when it comes to micro marring and product drying on paint and potential staining.What are your thoughts Pan? Am I crazy and overthinking?
      All I know is Hero is a game changer.

      I'm an apartment dweller too, and where I struggle with the concept of rinseless products, is that ultimately, you still need a bucket full of water. In theory I could fill a bucket at my home, then walk 10 minutes to where my car is parked but...using a diy car wash bay for water, bringing my own products to use pre wash, and then finish after I leave the bay is still my go-to in between when I can get to a driveway with hose nearby.

    I recently discovered you can put rinseless in a foam cannon. It works amazingly as a pretreatment. I like Absolute.

    • @jeffc6832
      @jeffc6832 7 месяцев назад +3

      Yep, most don't foam but its a great way to apply presoak quickly. When my cars are really dirty, I do a prewash with an alkaline soap in a foam cannon (Oberk APS, KCx Active Foam, Bilt Hamber Touch-Less), pressure wash it off, then swap my foam cannon bottles and apply rinseless. I have hard water, so this displaces the hard water and prevents water spots in case it dries before I get the entire car clean. Then I just pull my car back into the garage to do the contact wash in order to get rid of that remaining film that the prewash can't remove.

    • @mastershake2782
      @mastershake2782 7 месяцев назад +2

      @@jeffc6832 Yeah you're right, but DIY foams up a bit. I just meant using a foam cannon in lue of a sprayer. I mostly like that it applies way faster. I too had really good result with snow foam, rinse, and then rinseless. I like P&S Products. Frostbite, Absolute, and Bead Maker are a killer combo.

    • @mastershake2782
      @mastershake2782 7 месяцев назад +1

      If anyone else wants to try this I suggest upping the dilution and then turning the cannon down to find the right mix for you. I tried putting 1:256 in my cannon and it wasn't enough turned up all the way.

    • @jeffc6832
      @jeffc6832 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@mastershake2782 you effectively have to do a PIR calculation. Fill your foam cannon with water, set the dial to max and dispense it into a bucket until the foam cannon is empty. Measure the amount of water dispensed and then do some math. For my 2 gpm pressure washer and MTM foam cannon, it's about 2 ounces of rinseless, then fill with water to achieve 256:1 ratio.

    Let's give Eddie Colon a big shout out for influencing ADS in making a rinseless wash. I cannot believe it took me three years to use up my gallon of ONR but it finally happened recently and wasn't exactly sure now if it was version 3 or 4 either. As I mentioned on your IG earlier, my order of Hero should be here in a few days and I cannot wait to try it out! I've also had a bottle of Absolute since they launched but haven't given it a full test yet, but I definitely can feel the slickness when used as a glass cleaner. Sometime soon I also plan on ordering DIY just to play around with because I would like to support Yvan and Nick too. Despite the advancement in technology, ONR should remain on my shelf because I really enjoyed using it inside the home as well.

    Tried every one except DIY, I’ve used many bottles of ONR still enjoy it, probably just a nostalgia thing. Absolute is pretty good, just couldn’t get over over the chunkiness. N-914 is alright just feels too much like soap and will leave waterspots in the sun, tho I haven’t tried V2. Not the biggest fan of Idrosave since it’ll leave spots that take some work to get off if you spray the whole car even out of the sun, works great as a drying aid tho. Been loving the new Koch Chemie Rapid Rinseless, seems like ONR on steroids to me, cleans super well. Got a bottle of Hero on the shelf waiting to be used this weekend.

    These are all great products and everyone will clean your car. I just bought another gallon of rinseless wash from DIY. On pretty days I enjoy cleaning my car outside working panel by panel. Hero is a nice looking product but the DIY line has the best system. Their sponge and perforated synthetic decontamination towel work so well together. The only drawback to rinseless wash is the pressure washer is so much fun to use on C6 Hydro. I have cars coming back two months later without being washed and the hydrophobic behavior is better than most coatings after being cleaned. Thank you for a very good video and a big congratulations to one million subscribers! Love your channel!

    My bottle of Hero arrives on Friday, looking forward to trying it out.
    I was a longtime user of ONR, I still use it from time to time but I haven't liked the latest revisions as much as the version I started using back in 2018. I'm not a fan of McKee's N914 at all, I have hard water and found that it did a bad job at preventing water spots when mixed with hard water (ended up needing to polish my doors), and V2 leaves a weird film (Eddie Colon also saw this). All of the other rinseless washes that were on the market before (Meguiar's D114, Wolfgang, ADG Wipeout/Fuzion, among others) never really hit the mark for me until P&S Absolute came out.
    Absolute has been my go-to rinseless since it was released, super slick, great cleaning power, does not alter coating hydrophobic/self-cleaning properties, and will not streak glass even when used at 64:1. Also makes a great drying aid if you wash with soap. It does leave some gloss and a slick feel on the paint (along with some anti-static properties) but it is non-durable as it has no mechanism to bond to the surface. Its gone by the next wash or whenever it rains. Definitely takes a bit more effort to mix up properly, but I have a few tricks I use that make it a non-issue in my opinion.
    DIY Detail Rinseless is good (amazing in a pad washer and on interiors), but in my opinion it lacks slickness when used on the paint. You also need to be very precise when measuring, as any extra concentrate will cause streaking on glass. Looking forward to the new version and seeing how that compares. I hope Yvan changes the scent, as I'm not a fan of the current apple smell that reminds me of dish soap.
    Idrosave is good, but leaves too much durable protection for my personal cars (I no longer use toppers except the one designed for the coating and only when needed). Great option for detailers who offer a wash/clay/seal package and for maintenance clients that they see regularly. Have to be careful though and not let it dry on the surface.
    I also just picked up the new Koch Chemie Rapid Rinseless Wash. It does have some very very light protection, but I'm testing it on one half of my car currently to see how it interacts with my coating. So far, no negative effects. Very easy to use, strong cleaning power, slick and dries easily with no streaking at all. Its definitely a different formulation than the rest of the rinseless washes on the market, as the concentrate has a pH of 4.0 (becomes pH neutral when mixed with water).
    Its definitely a great time to be a rinseless wash user, its great to have so many good choices on the market that each provide their own unique approach.

    For myself, after trying a few different rinseless washes I find myself coming back to ONR (most recently V5). Main reason is it simply works with NO quirks. It completely dilutes in the water, does NOT water spot at all even with my tap water with brutally high mineral content. It works on all surfaces equally well, don’t even use interior detailers anymore. It leaves less solution on the surface and dries extremely easy with no streaks. The “lacking slickness” does not matter to me because I always use a drying aid on the exterior anyways. This is a personal preference but I like that the bucket stays much cleaner with ONR as I do not want to be depositing “dirty” wash solution onto the surface. Have never had an issue with the wash sponge releasing the picked up dirt.

    I like to rinse the car after the presoak. Then pre spray again and wash. I find the rinse gets rid of most of the dirt that would otherwise need to be cleaned off with the sponge. Doing it this way, I get very little dirt on the sponge or the bottom of the wash bucket.

    I have tried using an SiO2 based detailer while drying with the Gauntlet towel and eventually the towel would just be pushing water instead of picking it up, even after soaking it in Rags to Riches and washing. Had to get a new towel and won't be doing that again! I would rather go back over it at the end as a last step.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  7 месяцев назад +1

      Unfortunately, that's the price to pay to use drying aids with protection in them. You will inevitably coat the fibers over time, and make the towel less absorbant.
      Certainly regular washing with Rags to Riches helps. I wash my towels after each use. I don't take chances letting sealants to cure on the fibers. But even with proper care, over time, the fibers will get coated and become useless, at which point you have to bite the bullet and get a new drying towel. It is what it is.
      Another trick is to blow dry your car first, that way you have much less spraying and towel drying to do at the end. :)

    Over past year of discovering and using rinseless washes, I've used ONR v5, Absolute, and more recently DIY Detail. ONR slickness just isn't there for me. I tested this beyond just car washing by diluting all 3 RW into bottles to clean windows + mirrors around my place, and the MF towel just does not glide the same when using ONR, it "grips" on the glass more. My wife (Blind to the products) came to same conclusion.
    DIY Detail does have more cleaning power with the surfactants, and smells amazing, but I have noticed the odd residue streak from a crevice/mirror that must've dripped water and dried once I finished the car and came back to it to drive. Absolute is still best bang for the buck I think (however, when buying the gallon of product, DIY and Absolute are priced the same). I'll have to try ADS once my DIY and Abs is finished...or maybe DIY RW v2 will be out by then!
    3 gallons per wash sounds about right as well. I do both my car and wife's SUV at same time and load up on about 5-6 gallons total across bucket and IK Multi 12+ as I use a liberal pre-spray/soak given I don't have a hose. So ya, both cars with ADS would come in at about $5 CAD, Absolute comes in around $2.50 CAD

      @@PanTheOrganizer I did have a moment when I saw the price of ADS; essentially double all other RW. But, if it is as premium as it's acclaimed to be; truly being best of both cleaning and lubrication... I guess it's worth it. Washing every week or every other week is gonna be about an extra $60-130 per year, which, agreeably, isn't a lot in grand scheme. Not sure how much pro detailers use rinseless washes for client maintenance washes (but buying ADS in gallon would net some serious saving). Also likely not even that much for me...given with family I'm closer to washing every 2 weeks.

    Love the microfiber towels. Are they available in the UK?
    I would like to try Hero in the UK when it's available. Although a bigger bottle is preferential but the same price bracket compared to Absolute, N-914, ONS.
    It's not great value for money despite its claims. I think ADS needs to give value for money to retain a customer base for years and not until the next greatest brand hit the scene.
    I was speaking to Gtechiq a couple of weeks ago and they are looking into making a rinseless wash, we all know how scientific this brand gets so it'll be interesting if they decide to press the green light and actually make a rinseless wash and where it sits in the market.

    I'm use to using carpro/diy detail/ armour supply/ gyeon items - what's my ideal wash steps to get rid of the semi serious fallout on a car?
    *for reference, I attempted to rinse it off at a self service station and that did nothing even with some of the wtv soap they have in their system sitting for 5 minutes dwell time, also easy to see all of the fallout as my cars are white*

    That's the next one on my list to try out! Along with Labo' and Koch's new ones! Rinseless is my favorite way of washing at the moment. Quick, efficient, and does an excellent job if you just use common sense and use good wash techniques and tools (i.e. sponge designed for rinseless washes and a bucket with a grit guard. There are so many rinseless washes out now, it's MIND BOGGLING! And new ones are coming out everyday. If a company isn't on the rinseless wash bandwagon, they are missing out. No, they are being left behind standing there in the dust! Even the boys over at Armour Detail Supply made one after they swore they would never make one. But these boys listened to a detailer who does rinseless washes daily. They took all the requests for a great rinseless and they tried to incorporate those requests into a useful rinseless wash. To be sure not all rinseless washes are the same. Nor are they all a good rinseless wash. Some of them are ZONKS for sure but for the most part, it's not hard to figure out what the good ones are. Then stick with that good one you like using. Some detailers and enthusiasts will only use a rinseless that cleans well but nothing else, no protection, nothing left behind, etc. Some enjoy using the infused formula's with Si02 or some sort of protection component to the formula. Some of them foam, most do not. I like the foaming rinseless products for the heavier accumulation of dirt (not bad enough for a bucket/soap wash) and also for wheels! FUZION is my go to surfactant based, foaming rinseless at the moment. I am not a fan of those flipper cloths. I always lose track of what side I am on! LOL. I do like using the rinseless sponges lately, although in my opinion, with heavier dirt on the vehicle, you need to use a microfiber cloth which scrubs the surface a little better, even when using little to no pressure. But if you maintain your vehicle weekly (which literally only takes a few minutes with a rinseless wash), using the rinseless sponge works great!

    Koch Chemie RRW, it smells like Bleu de Chanel has a nice luster flow to it and works great as a glass cleaner. Downside is it doesn’t have the slickness as other BUT in a bottle for a drying aid you can add your favorite detail spray. At the moment I have a cap full of RRW and one cap of Adam’s Graphene detail spray. This works well. It’s slightly acidic but k de you dilute with water it becomes less acidic closer if not at ph neutral.

      Yeah you really have to try the rinseless wash to believe in it. Much different encapsulation technology compared to soap.
      Of course common sense is needed with a rinseless wash. You wouldn’t go straight to washing if the vehicle is suuuper dirty. You’d pre-rinse first just like you would for the traditional wash method.

    Rinsless is great especially in our area where we get up to 115-120 Fahrenheit degrees in the summer time 🥵
    Thank you Pan!

    Been watching your you tube videos for years. I need to refurbish my headlights on my 2013 Honda CRV. I’ve tried a Turtle Wax product with bad results. Need your advice. Thanks. Just love your knowledge and expertise!!

      If you tried a headlight restoration kit and that didn’t work, it means the oxidation was too bad. They work with light to moderate oxidation.
      The next option is a full headlight restoration using water sanding, the compound, then polish, then paint prep spray and finally a ceramic coating for protection.

    Have used onr/absolute both great. Not sure double the price makes sense since the others do a great job.

      True. Especially their gallon products are expensive for sure. I’m trying out Hero, Amplify, Pilot, and Adapt. Hero is my favorite so far. Don’t care for Pilot or Adapt, Amplify works good.
