- I do not encourage anyone to enter culverts, unclog anything, or enter flooded areas as it can easily become deadly without the proper training
I unclog drains for fun in my spare time (I have been trained in culvert inspections for years with private co.) and I am osha trained.
Exploring anything abandoned can be dangerous or deadly without experience. I don't encourage anyone to enter any abandoned structures. Not only is safety a concern, but often times its illegal, and when possible I seek out permission from the owner or local police. I simply go to document its history before it's gone forever and I leave things the way I find them. I only take pictures and only leave footprints. I assume all the risks and responsibility before doing this. Please don't attempt to do this on your own. There could be nails, asbestos, falling concrete, soft floors, animals, or other hazards. Hey, hello and how are ya Post 10? I have a question for you, would you do a knife, scissors, pruning shears, and maybe a chain saw sharpening video? I have all of these things that need sharpening and I’ve tried several things but to no avail. There’s all kinds of products that claim to be the best and for the most part they are just garbage.

It's dipped below freezing here, yet there's bullfrogs I can hear in your video; it feels so weird to think of them still being awake and alert. I'd have thought they'd have all buried themselves in the mud and hunkered down to hibernate for the season.

Hey Post 10 if you buy a cheap ceramic coating and put it on your truck Dust won't stick to it.
That stuff is kinda not exactly what it says it is. A ceramic coating would need to get baked at 1000 C or something ridiculous like that. It does work though by leaving a hydrophobic surface, albeit temporarily.
@@Totalinternalreflection Yes, for a true Ceramic coating you need more then just heat. But I'm talking about the cheap automotive coating that last like a year for $50 that come in those tiny bottles. I have a very dusy driveway and my truck stays nearly dust free.

Just out of curiosity; Why doesn't Maine instead of Dirt/ Gravel Road 🛣️'s have all Paved ( Asphalt) Roads?
I understand that the weather ☁️🌡️ ☔ ❄️🌨️ can be quite hard but with the right kind of proper installation with culverts, pipes and grading I can't see as there being a problem but Maybe I am Wrong.

I actually like the gravel roads better personally but the reason they don't do it is because you're looking at millions of dollars of improvements per mile literally. If you have ground water within 4 ft of the road surface it's going to freeze expanding pushing the road up destroying it. So you would have to bring in so much dirt raise up the roads with fill that doesn't hold water at least the distance let the ground freezes which is up to 4 ft in this area
I wish I could have a job like this. Going out and maintaining forest service roads sounds like heaven. Too bad in order to be """hired""" by the "government" you have to have attended "college" and shown that you are a slave with a useless piece of paper. I'd rather be dead than go to school. Still the work itself you do looks so inviting and fun, I wish you all the best.

If you had a small handheld saw, you could of cut out a section of that log stuck in the exit of the pipe and maybe pulled it out.

Around 12:35 you said you wish it was a bit bigger. I was wondering why you didn't walk in at the other end just to see how big it was with such little flow. I understand safety for you after you started it. But was hoping you would of walked though it. Haven't seen a good walk through culvert in awhile.
Maybe because the pipe is Tiny

How come you do not try attaching a PVC pipe on the end of your rake and make it longer to enable you to get into a pipe or culvert to unclog. I love watching your videos

Have you ever thought about getting a pop-up truck camper that goes into the bed you could write it off when your taxes cuz you use it for work so can you see so many people that have them at least you would definitely get your money's worth out of it you can get them from functional to fabulous if not do you carry a All Seasons tent with you something like a Russian Bear tent what's one of their small stoves sets up in about 4 or 5 minutes by itself stove included self-contained in a bag like I said I do believe at least you would get your money's worth out of them

Why don't you bring a chainsaw to cut big logs blocking the culverts?
why wouldn't you put the straight end of that iron bar into the culvert instead of the bent end? And yes, you could have went to the end of that tree and lifted it a wee bit to drag it out. I have never seen you act like this before. what is up?
