I am extremely happy that he got out of it and won this, also while he was sick. This shows that he is a good competitor and there is a reason why he's a constant in the top 10 rankings for a long time. Let's keep fighting Andrey 🎉 💪

    I hope Rublev will fully recover from whatever he's experiencing... Regarding the match, my heart SAAAANNKK for Felix 😢He really is a gifted tennis player, but his mental strength/resolve/endurance is a huge issue... He brought Nadal to 5 sets at Roland Garros and has beaten him; he has beaten Novak Djokovic and Federer. He has what it takes to be a Majors champion, but his mental weakness is REAL. Nadal was asked once, out of those who didn't have a slam title, who did he believe would have one soon, and he said Felix. I hope he will use this tournament's results as leverage to return to his fighting spirit!🦾Happy for Rublev, though; really like him. Although I sank for Felix, Rublev was a soft cushion at the bottom.
    Even with his psychological issues, Felix did awesome this tournament! He took out Ruud in straight sets and made Rublev WORK for that win he barely got. We can't use Rublev's sickness as an excuse since, as he stated, his medication prevented him from feeling anything. He was fully present, and his result in barely squeezing out a win is due to FAA.

    • @nyali2
      @nyali2 Месяц назад +4

      You are wrong, Rublev was a shell of himself in the first set. You can not get medicated when you have high fever. Tennis is about very small percentages and Rublev had a major disadvantage. Felix did well, but Rublev is a way better match player.

    FAA is stronger than Rublev. Rublev survived and won on sheer grit. Felix needs to really hone in on those key shots that win matches. Novak is the ultimate for executing those match winning shots. Felix had a few chances and somehow found ways to push shots long. Those are reflexive moments that simply cannot be missed. Going forward, I think this was a Houdini escape by Rublev and he won't be so fortunate the next time they meet.

    • @newgod8828
      @newgod8828 Месяц назад +10

      Are u blind? 2nd and 3rd set Rublev was outmatching FAA, FAA was dependent on his serve to save breakpoints and most of his serve games went to deuces while Andrey cruised his serve games. What a shity take saying Andrey survived, he literally outclassed FAa in last 2 sets, go watch match again

    • @arianna1991
      @arianna1991 Месяц назад +2

      Rublev lucky? Lol. He isn't the one who needed 2 retirements and 1 walkover to reach the final. Rublev had 39 fever, was sick the whole week, couldn't eat nor sleep properly but still won all his 6 matches. FAA played 3 matches out of 6, the last one 5 days before the final so he had all the time to practice and rest but still couldn't win. In the 3rd set he had to save BPs in every single service game while Rublo didn't face any for 2 sets. Rublev is way stronger and his ranking and consistency prove it no matter how much you may like Felix

    • @t3nnis101
      @t3nnis101 Месяц назад

      Your hatred for Rublev is making you delusional... He fought hard, played every single one of his matches & beat all his opponents convincingly (including Alcaraz on his home turf), all while being extremely sick all week. Rublev is the more skillful, consistent & resilient player & the well-deserved champion of this tournament.. while Felix basically just failed upwards & stumbled into a Masters final.

      @@t3nnis101 I don’t hate Rublev, though his on-court antics are quite obnoxious as is his “bwee” expulsion after each shot. I hoped, that this year WTA/ATP/ITF, would stop this nonsense of mixing sport with politics.
    Every player should have right to play under her/his country's flag. One cannot choose the country of one's birth.
    Appointing "flag police" at the AO 2023 was not even childish... it was embarrassing and insane...
    Wars are run by politicians not sportsmen/sportswomen.
    Why during the invasion of Iraq, 20 year bombing of Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen and Pakistan not to mention the genocidal Vietnam war US, Australian, UK... athletes were allowed to compete under their national flag?
    USA invaded Iraq in 2003 and yet their flag was still allowed at the World Cup 2006 in Germany and 2010 in South Africa despite the fact they were still in Iraq.
    Either ban ALL flags of countries who go to war, or don't ban any of them.
    Interestingly enough Israeli tennis players Mika Buchnik and Guy Sasson are allowed to play under the national flag in AO 2024 despite the policy of their government towards Palestinians in Gaza.
    ***
    All wars are equal, but some wars are more equal than others.
    Karma caught up with idiotic politicization of sport by self-righteous Western democracies.
    Three tennis players representing "authoritarian/ totalitarian regimes" - archenemies of so called collective West (America and it's geopolitical European vassals) play in the final of the lucrative sport.
    AO organisers and administrators and ATP/WTA bureaucrats dreaded that scenario.
    Now with the fake smiles and insincere congratulatory speeches they have to hand over the prestigious trophies and... fat cheques to the Russian and Chinese players.
    And now Rublev in Madrid...
