HELLO LOVELY VIEWERS! Important Note: If you have questions about this recipe, you can post it here for the community to answer. But if you want to ask me, please get in touch via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or my website (all links are in the description above). If you leave questions in the comments I may not see them due to the large volume of comments I receive across the hundreds of videos on this channel. Also, before sending on any questions be sure to read the written recipe on the website as I often add extra tips and notes not covered in the video. Thank you for watching!
I have learned so much from your RUclips channel and not just about Thai recipes but cooking techniques in general. I would have never thought of using the oven broiler (like your coconut milk bbq chicken) to cook yakitori (Japanese) and chicken inasal (Filipino). Thank you !!!
Besides the recipes, my absolute favorite part of your videos is your reaction when tasting the food you've made! That never fails to make me happy and excited! Thanks for the fantastic food :D
You have really created a fantastic RUclips channel as your personality has evolved into the best and fun Thai food channel. You’re not only a great chef, you are happy and love what you do! When talking about the colored peppers saying “it looks like a party” I swear I’m going to steal that little saying!😁. My stir fry and fried rice taste so much better because of you! Thank you!
I love your channel, the best, I’ve learn a lot. Not just the cooking part but you input some very educational content, of course the cooking style , cooking time, and how to store items and still taste fresh. ❤ thank you.
I REEEALLY appreciated the health tips at the end. I wish this information was more available for more of the population. A lot of dietary/nutrition recommendations are super outdated. This is fantastic.
Another easy to go recipe, also thanks for that info from the Dietician. I'm happy that I cut large portion of my diet from processed food. Opting out of deliveries and just enjoying homecooking is such an eye-opener.
you guys might get mad a me... but I was making beef jerky in the oven, and was too cold to BBQ so I sliced the beef, oiled it and mariinated for 20 mins in tbsp soy sauce... made the rest the same except used 4 peppers and 500g steak added a little better than double of the sauce.... turned out WAY better than I thought it was going to. amazing.... I peppered the steak after i cooked it (Separate, then added it to the veg after they were cooked)!!!!
Another winning recipe - thanks! Love the bits where you almost burst into song but stop short. This recipe is pretty healthy so good option for most people.
Hi Pai, I am a homemaker, as I am watching you on my phone , I also am watching Dr. oz now. He says that Fish sauce is one of the healthy diet for the brain to prevent Alzheimer . Thanks so much for your channel that promote healthy and delicious Thai meals , easy to follow too 😘my family certainly thankful to you
Hi Pailin, That is a great recipe for a quick meal. Love that mix of sauces to season the dish. It is versatile because it will work with any protein and vegetables. Definitely adding this to my quick meal recipes. Looking forward to your next video.
Funnily enough, I think the opposite. In my book, registered Dieticians have been “bought” by Big Food and Big Ag and their advice is not to be trusted. Just look at their sponsors and business partners and you’ll see that expecting independent unbiased advice from them, is laughable
I'm glad I didn't miss this recipe. The sugar substitute or sweet ingredients is natural and inspirational. I know some kitchen chefs use sugar in many dishes. Thanks so much 👍👍
Actually I prepared a beef stir fry not long ago with some vietnamese green peppers. I made the sauce with Oyster, chicken stock, light soy and a drizzle of sesame oil. Will try with the thai holy trinity of sauces next time.
I have to cook for one most of the time since my wife works nights and this dish could be added to my list. Looks so tasty. Thanks for another great video.
Thanks for the awesome video. I make a similar steak stir fry with steak, but with mushrooms and asparagus. Gotta try this one too, looks so yum. You’re the best.🌹
I've made this recipe quite a few times now, but combining the technique used in your Bo Luc Lac recipe, since I didn't have any leftover steak. I absolutely love it, so good and so fast :D
Personally, when I think of changing beef for chicken it has nothing to do with the fat, it always is because chicken is cheaper and it's always the same quality per se, while beef has a lot of cuts and qualities that vary in price and if you get a cheap cut that's as affordable as chicken, you can end up with tough dry meat while cooking it.

Hi Pai! I've just discovered your channel and I'm hooked! I do have a question about this video though. Whole grains were identified in the last segment as being part of a balanced diet, but I thought that 'white' rice has been processed to remove some of the fibre in the husk. I know that white rice is in no way unhealthy, but have you used brown rice in your recipes? Apologies if you have but, as I said, I've just found your channel, so I haven't watched all your videos (yet)!
Hi Adam here - and I think you're going to have to ask her that one directly as she doesn't see the comments on here once the post is more than a week old (as per her note above). You can check out options to get hold of her here hot-thai-kitchen.com/contact . Cheers!
Mmmmm..... black pepper smells great!! That taste sooooo delicious and juicy sliced beef!! But I don't really like beef too!! Loooks goood!! Great dish!! See u anytime!!
Hello I want to make some Thai themed dinner. But Im not really good at preparing more than one dish. Can you please make a dinner menu with vegetable and tofu plus a simple Thai dessert?
you suggested fresh young green peppercorns, but would the brined green peppercorns in a jar an acceptable substitute for fresh? Lucky you as the fresh are available in Vancouver, but not in the States.
Question: Is this dish sometimes also served with Sichuan pepper instead of black pepper in Thailand or is it traditionally always black pepper? And thanks for that great video! I was actually eating that dish two weeks ago for the first time and I've tried to find a good recipe for it since then. Didn't realize it is so simple :)
8:59 I feel for you really. XDDD Seems like all asian family plates tend to be like that. (my mum even overdoes in summer like, whole grain porridge 80% of her meal. such an extremist...)
Allow me to repeat something I've been sarcastically telling people for years: "What? You mean eating fresh vegetables, fruits, and meats are good for you and eating heavily processed garbage is bad?! How could this be?!?!" For real though, when people are all fretting about "being fat" and all that and I explain to them the insane notion of "you don't need to eat magical processed weight loss things, all you need to do is eat plenty of nutritious foods and stay away from the junk food. Learning how to eat properly your whole life will be better for you" it's like I just spoke in babylonian or something. Maybe because I look fat they don't want to take my word for it? Or maybe no one wants to put in the dang effort of washing and cutting stuff; they just want to unwrap something, nuke it for three minutes, then shovel it down their gob.
If you want to use fresh beef I did this from another recipe: Slice beef into thin slices For marinade: - 1 tbsp soy sauce - 1 tbsp of shiaoxing wine (or regular rice wine) - 1,5 tsp of cornstarch - 1/4 tsp of baking soda - freshly ground pepper to taste Mix the beef well with all the ingredients and let it sit for at least some 30 minutes. On high heat, cook the meat untill evenly browned and set aside. Follow the rest of the instructions of this vid for veggied and sauce and add the meat when Pai does it 😋
Can you suggest a dish to cook to "impress" my lovely daughterinlaw? I am Greek she refuses to try any dishes LOL however when she is visiting us, she does all the cooking and she has to tone it down because we have heartburn from too spicey since we were not raised on it. Tonight I sent her pictures of pot stickers I made and her response was for me to learn Thai cooking which I would like to. My family is a collection of eight children: I am pure Greek hubby scotish german, two daughters Russian, one daughterinlaw from thailand, an American Korean who cannot speak Korean or cook. I have a phillipines daughterinlaw, a Dutch cherokee daughter three adopted grown daughters five sons. I love all the different cookery brought to the party. I love steamed pork buns as I lived in San Francisco for 12 years and ate wonderful chinese food but Thai is another story. Can you suggest one simple dish I could make?????
Yes! grow some and find out... they are hard to grow.. which is hwy they are probably so expensive.. hard enough to grow green. the colored ones are even harder... at lest here in canada with short season!
This one ... kit.com/hotthaikitchen/kitchen-tools-i-use/iwatani-corporation (note it sometimes takes a while for the page to load) - Sorry for a long delay! :)
We are vegan if you have any non meat fish or dairy dishes I would love to learn them !! I understand I am not a majority but more and more people are becoming vegan :) thank you 😊

Thank you. Loved the recipe and the tips on cooking or prepping extra. Also, thank you for Carol's interview. God Bless and stay safe.

missed it in the first time watching vid, but I did add a slight bit of sugar... glad to see you agree with me!

Pailin thank u for the meaning of your Thai recipe ....
Hi Pai, I am a homemaker, as I am watching you on my phone , I also am watching Dr. oz now. He says that Fish sauce is one of the healthy diet for the brain to prevent Alzheimer . I’m half Thai and I live in the uk, you just remind me of being in Thailand (my second home) 😋 kopkoon kaa!
Hi Pailin,
That is a great recipe for a quick meal. Love that mix of sauces to season the dish. It is versatile because it will work with any protein and vegetables. Definitely adding this to my quick meal recipes. Looking forward to your next video.
Thanks for bringing a guest speaker, it was very useful.
I appreciate when you bring in a CREDENTIALLED Registered Dietitian as opposed to a "nutritionist" who may or may not know what she is talking about.

I loved to eat this when i was travelling Thailand. I will try this out
Actually I prepared a beef stir fry not long ago with some vietnamese green peppers. I made the sauce with Oyster, chicken stock, light soy and a drizzle of sesame oil. Will try with the thai holy trinity of sauces next time.
Tried this and love it. We have had it at least once a month now and is our dinner tonight.

Nothing wrong with proteins or fats from proteins....cut out those processed foods and grains! Great video, thank you for the recipe!

No it's usually black pepper in Thailand, although if you want to switch it up and try Sichuan pepper it wouldn't be a bad idea :)
Thanks a lot, Pai! :)

I want to eat this. Like now.
Can i add chili souce

I never knew you were in Canada too :)
Green bell peppers are underripe yellow or red bell peppers? Mind blown!
If you want to use fresh beef I did this from another recipe:
Slice beef into thin slices
For marinade:
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp of shiaoxing wine (or regular rice wine)
- 1,5 tsp of cornstarch
- 1/4 tsp of baking soda
- freshly ground pepper to taste
Mix the beef well with all the ingredients and let it sit for at least some 30 minutes. On high heat, cook the meat untill evenly browned and set aside.

You can probably start with a simple tom ka gai. Although your daughter in law should try your dishes too! I love Greek food.
Oh Yeah Beef :D
Wait. Are green bell peppers really unripened variants of yellow and red bell peppers?
Yes! grow some and find out... they are hard to grow.. which is hwy they are probably so expensive.. hard enough to grow green. the colored ones are even harder... at lest here in canada with short season!
Some major beef with beef...ha!!!

Some people don't eat beef due to religion purposes but still wanna enjoy the recipe with other kind of meat #justsaying
Ally wui then go for it! You can always substitute different meats
The only problem is NOT eating the steak after i cooked it 😂😂 (i know its supposed to be an extra steak, but still...)
Trust me I had to stop myself from eating the steak pieces after cutting them!

Soy sauce. Oyster sauce. And fish sauce stay stocked in my home. 😂
We are vegan if you have any non meat fish or dairy dishes I would love to learn them !! I understand I am not a majority but more and more people are becoming vegan :) thank you 😊
Thai is so wide
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
where there's nutrition there're frustrated vegans with outdated nutrition knowledge. 😂😣
