Smite 2 is the first "competitive" game I played and tried to get better at, I only had at most 100hrs in smite one over 10yrs. I think we should remember this its an Alpha and new players like myself really enjoy it. I might be speaking for a minority but I'm really enjoying my time in smite 2.
Same me and a group of friends on ps5 are all getting really into it Trying mkb for the first time cuz it has really good mkb support for consoles compared to smite 1
I’ve been playing Smite for a decade and I absolutely love Smite 2. I’m very optimistic. More discouraged how people are just so ready to give up on it when Titan Forge has shown a ton of love for the game.
Personally, it feels like Inbowned is just frustrated and talking with his emotions rather than his head in here, and he's not taking into account the fact that the player base is very low rn, and it feels that he hasn't watched the titan talks, because they explain a lot of what the developers feel and are planning. Some of his criticisms are valid, but the way he delivers them here feels too emotional, like he just got off a bad match and is tilted.
I’d rather see base prot nerf than reintroduce flat pen items. Around when I quit Smite, the balance team was just throwing 10 pen on any underperforming item until what felt like half the damage items had pen on them. I don’t want that bloat to come back even if it wouldn’t be right away.
I can see three reasons: 1. It’s pay gates: many people don’t want to pay 30 bucks for a game they may not play since it’s not very similar to its predecessor item wise. 2. Smite 2 is very uncooked(obviously) 3. People rather play smite 1 until it dies than switch over. Smite 2 is more than just they lose their investment into smite one. The builds, the way certain mechanics and even some of the gods are different. Smite 2 is very similar to other mobas but with a pay wall(for now). Telling players that if they are going to play the game anyway to pay the 30 dollars is crazy. Not many people want to pay to be a beta tester.
Something interesting for gf could be that when you kill it for the 3rd time, your team is able to spend gold on things around the map. Maybe special wards, alternate effects on bushes, or buffs to minions
To me? No. The only issue with the game is that it's not done yet. What they have been doing is good, they just can't do it fast enough. And that's not an issue that can be fixed any faster than it currently is. Of course, the industry around them is changing and that comes with its own risks... but I think that as a studio, Hi-Rez is doing all that it can. (Sure, maybe those layoffs shouldn't have happened and the CEO should have taken a bigger pay cut to compensate, but CEO millionaires NEVER do that.)
Yeah I've shit on the devs many times in the past when they make stupid choices and still do sometimes but I genuinely think they're doing all they can right now because they know the game is on a bit of a knife edge, just an unfortunate situation but I think the direction they're going in is generally good.
What if cooldown affected your relic? It’ll make cdr more OP, but it could help with expression in the 1 relic system. If you keep getting cc’d having beads up more often is helpful, and on the flip side if you pull someone’s relics you’re more incentivized to make a play to take them down.
its already op and feels very valuable. There are gods that care about cooldown like Ullr, and gods that don't really care like kali it would inadvertently make those ones much stronger because they can itemize normally and get extra value.
Probably a bad idea as CDR is already one of the most powerful and ubiquitous stats in the game but a specific item or two that lower relic and active cooldowns could work.
The game feels good to play to me. However the shop sucks absolute ass, like seriousy when you click on starter items for example buy an item and then search for another unrelated item nothing shows up because you have to click on the damned tab again before items show up and the ui has no identity, it's just black semi transparent boxes everywhere which takes away from smite's unique visual style.
I’ve been completely checked out of smite 2 ever since the god release schedule came out. I love the direction they’re taking, but I’m one of those players like you said who wants to play my favorite gods. I either need them to be in the game or huge quality changes before I come back. I play every god, but the player base is so uncompetitive rn that I don’t really have fun if I can’t be playin my gods with 10 stars lol. Before the god release list, I started giving up when I made it deep into Elite ranked and realized the player base didn’t get any better.
"Sorry long rant"Feels like smite 2 came out way too early They should have let it cooked for at least another year Maybe a couple more months but the game definitely should not have been released with not even half of the god roster also with them trying new things and the lag is kinda unreal and the players have the brain of people that have never heard or seen a moba before in there life I also think splitting the player base among two of the same game is not good for the game now and in the long run player counts goes to show that And before anyone says it's an alpha smite 1 alpha had double the players then smite 2 and I'm talking early smite when there we not even 10 characters in the game And the game's still outperformed smite 2 I hope the best for smite I still play it from time to time like dusting off an old video game but I don't know if they should of done what they did and only half cooked then present it to the people
I think he's valid, the game has been completely unplayable for me recently, not because of balance or anything, simply because the playerbase is too small. My last session I queued 4 conquest games and 1 arena game with a friend. In all the conquest games we played well, but had the 3 worst players in the lobby on our team and had no chance to be competitive at all. In all 4 of the conquest games 1 of our teammates left the game, in 1 of them all 3 of our teammates left the game (funny enough that 2 v. 5 was the only game we won all day). The arena we both went like 15/2 and lost as well. Huge problem.
@@HardStuckinGold sounds like you don't understand game balance but no worries lol I'll have the last laugh when enough people complain and they change it to 2 relics (since um, you know, every smite God was literally designed with TWO RELIC SLOTS in mind - and everyone is complaining about how actives work)
Smite 2 is missing the game modes I like, it doesn't have the worshippers I grinded for, it doesn't have all my favorite characters (I know they will be there eventually), and since my motherboard bricked, I've had to play on my laptop, and smite 2 isn't really playable on it where smite 1 is.
Call me crazy but I don’t think a 20 may be a 25 second cool down on regular abilities, at the upper end, is all that wild. Ults should definitely be 120 seconds minimum. CC should only last 1 second MAX, except for certain gods, that way CC is more of an interrupt as opposed to ha ha you can’t move now you die. At that point, you could raise the amount of mana to fire abilities, which would make mana no longer a “fake stat.” That would also encourage players to be more intentional about the things they’re doing as opposed to just kind of fighting nonstop like it’s arena, or assault. The value of minions needs to increase. They don’t necessarily have to copy the league last hit system, but you need to be encouraged to properly farm. I feel like that’s the biggest flaw, you don’t particularly have to farm in order to win your lane. It’s just as effective, if not more, to just run around 2 to 3 man ganking lanes the whole time. Which is why Bobby was complaining about getting rushed out in his lane the whole time. Players need to be encouraged to stay in lane, and for the JG to stay in their jungle, and get their minions/camps. Rotation shouldn’t be outright punished, but at the current moment, it’s too free.
i know this is late but, if they remove beads ageis then they need to tone down or remove a lot of CC. Without beads there is no counterplay for CC, you just die to a taunt freeze ect.
Ill say right now POE2 and marvel rivals has all my attention, which means one less experienced player in the already low pool. Ill certainly be back in janurary though.
The big issue here is smites already negative community feeding off the negativity of smites content creators/ambassadors. There’s a few reasons some people haven’t jumped from Smite1 to smite2, biggest reason being a buy in for the “alpha”. But what doesn’t help is when those players old or new who haven’t even tried smite 2 see videos like Bobbie’s from a top smite creator they instantly take that as the gospel for the state of the game. Smites always been a niche game and difficult for new players to grasp and excel at, now add a toxic community that for whatever reason has a god complex (no pun intended) and would rather shit on their team instead of trying to communicate and help their team mates out during matches it can literally be a miserable experience for someone trying to learn the game/new roles/a new god.
I need a character i jail with in the game rn im aimlessly playing random gods and using really quirky builds in the solo lane. Ullr seems to be the next god to come out that i want. King arthur, sun wukong and ravana would be the others(there is more like osiris but those others are higher priority for me)
If we essentially put stats on relics like beads would'nt that be like old af (like season 2-4) lotus crown on mid laners? Where theyd rush lotus crown, cheap, stat efficient and enough phys D that ganking mid after they built that is just throwing.
The problem is community is split, and because of this the game feels boring and horrible due to how bad all the players are in both games. A lot of the smite "middle class" stopped playing either game. The general skill level dove down at least 3-4 points on a 1-10 scale. smite has always had that avg playercount of 1200-1400 till recently and those 3k that left were the middle glue that enabled games to be enjoyable to play. We lost a load of plats and diamonds and now matchmaking cant possibly balance masters players and the actual straight timmies because 1 masters player can kill all 5 of them with a suboptimal build or god.
Smite 2 doesn't feel better than Smite. Abilities are bugged in Smite 2. Wanna jump away from the fight? Well you've been knocked up while in the air. Wanna dash into a fight? Well you've been canceled by a basic attack. Did you vortex the enemy? Well now your team can't move them. Did someone place a wall? You're now glitched until that ability ends.
UI sucks, item store sucks, not enough gods on release, and the god balance is AWFUL - the gods who are good are BUSTED and the ones that suck are essentially unplayable. Oh and a lot of items that some gods NEEDED (Regrowth, Frostbound) are missing. Some gods are outright bugged to hell At least its pretty? I think imma pass on this until Smite 1 is dead.
I'm good without the text chat. Played since early 2016, it's never once been user to do anything but talk shit and make an ass of yourself. Hard pass on it.
Basically every problem with actives fulfilling certain niches can be solved with the Smite 1 actives coming back. It would also solve the lategame gold sink issue with their upgrades.
Flat pen: did not cause an issue? I hope they understand something will have to go...
You're of course welcome to your own opinion and you might be right but flat pen cap has never changed in the entire history of smite, has always been 50 and has always been pretty much unreachable in a normal build except by a few specific picks like Thana. Also if your complaint is the first 5 levels feel too squishy that's not a flat pen issue. You never complete a full item before level 5 so even if you rushed flat pen asap, it was not an issue in the first 5 levels.
Eh. My fault on the first 5 lvl remark as that was more oriented toward hp and protections for squishies in the early game not flat pen. To clarify: Late game squishies do have more hp and prtections than they should. In the early game i find their hp and protections are currently fine. @@stormraingreen7543 Yeah I think we both agree that prots are too high on squishies, just different solutions.
