@@annapocalypsee amazing playing! I can tell by your face that you're dialed in and focused. Hard to compete with Rikki's over the top showmanship (which I also like). With your playing and your amazing look, a little more energy and you would be absolutely unstoppable!
Why do people keep saying Netflix needs to pick this up. There's no way having streaming execs breathing down the producers' necks would make this *better*. The production quality is excellent, not even just for independent media, it's already professional quality. Netflix or Apple would just ruin it.
I honestly believe netflix would just get the biggest artists to be the guests on the show. And thus all interesting flavors found here but instantly be thrown down the drain.
Can't wait! This is one of the best and most entertaining "reality" *anything* I have ever watched. MM1 was fantastic, and this one is just as good! I sincerely hope there will be a MM3!
50% of rock and roll is the showmanship! :P Agree about Anna. So smooth and also easy on the eyes. If she kicked up the energy just slightly, she'd be unstoppable. lol
I personally felt that his tone was much more present and interesting than anyone else's during that challenge, which helped him a lot. As great of a player as Anna is, her tone just felt weak in that direct comparison against the other two, which obviously matters a lot in a direct competition like this.
I thought Soulfire was going to blow everyone out of the water after the first episode. But every single band has really stepped up & made this a true competition.
It's almost end of the season and I want to take a moment to thank Jared for doing this. I can't even begin to imagine how hard and complicated it is to pull something like this off. Great job!
Idea for next season: For the instrument challenge parts, have the judges sit. They look uncomfortable standing there, a place to sit makes you feel a little more comfortable & I think it would make the musicians a bit more comfortable, more than a fee guys just standing in front of them. I could be wrong, but just an idea
All 3 bassists had some cool moments, but fundamentally I think Anna's was the best. Very sparse with her flashy moments, and most importantly held the rhythm down while incorporating many different techniques. Slapping and also did tapping that was beyond just arpeggios. She did that cool 2 handed tapping like Les Claypool where you play 2 different melodies at once.
Something that wasn’t captured on the show. After partying every single night and being absolutely stressed out about these songs every 24 hours, it finally caught up to us. We did not have the retention to play holy diver well. BUT..will we redeem ourselves?? 🤔
Bassists being the deciding factor on who headlines perfectly embodies how important they are in a band even though their efforts usually go unnoticed. I have to admit that, even as a guitar player!
Damn I was fully invested after only seeing this episode and the previous. Great show! Ricky is the whole package and I think he'll be doing some big things. Aeris deserved this win 🏆
Soulfire chemistry is incredible. In Holy Diver they brought 80s style but still had some djentcore stuff. Aeris has diversity, from beautiful tearjerkers to brutal stuff. Graystone is just funny and brutal, Nik can do basically anything but he shines more in stuff like Termina
Personally I think Justin should have won that considering he showed the most diverse ability as a bassist out of all three of them. They told Anna to play with more energy and she still looked like she did not want to be there the whole time, and Rikki had some funky grooves that were enjoyable but he ruined it every time by playing a guitar solo instead. I agree with Paula, it was a bassist competition, not a guitarist one. Just showcased that he could do multiple different techniques with his bass, and put on a new show every single time that did not feel recycled and was very fun to watch. Rikki and Anna both did a great job but Justin just beat them by a mile in two different categories of showmanship. He beat Rikki in consistency, and he beat Anna in energy, and as a bassist those feel like two of the most important things to have.
Justins tone was kinda meh, Annas playing was the better out of the three, Rikkis stage presence is 2nd to none… unfortunately this is a tough challenge as a bassist as we are wired to be outshined by the rest of the band anyway so we simply go out there and keep everyone tight and be the backbone of the group
Rikki was best, Anna was just not as consistent and spectacular, and Justin stood surprisingly well against actual bass players. I much rather prefer Anna's vector when it's well executed, and I am usually not a fan of the style Rikki does, but credit where it's due.
In my opinion, Rikki deserved the win. I am not a bassist. I am a vocalist who plays guitar, and I switched to bass so Austin could shine as a vocalist, and so Nik and Paula could stay on guitar. I was completely out of my element and REALLY nervous. As you guys probably saw in the finale, my showmanship is insane, but in this bass challenge, I was being examined under a microscope. I could not hide my sloppy playing behind guitars, drums, and vocals, so I sacrificed my showmanship to concentrate and play as clean as I could. Anna is an absolutely ridiculous bassist. I think her technique ran circles around both me and Rikki, but her energy was not there. Rikki displayed skill, and while I agree he played the bass more like a guitar, I do not think it matters. We were given three drum tracks and told to write over them. I am not a great bassist, but I am a great writer, so I played to my strengths and wrote some stuff I thought would stand out, make the judges grin, and get everyone moving :D
If this show gets a third season, you should definitely check if there's a way to take stress away from the participants. I know that it's impossible to fully do that, but I feel that some of them are really on the edge most of the time.
Anna was really great, Rikki was very solid, but Justin (while not as conventional) was both extremely solid and pioneered extreme metal bass technique in unique and unexpected ways.
This show has been honestly so wholesome with everyone who put it together. Like, I watched up to season 5 of American Idol, but this has a totally different collective vibe that really shows so much energy, passion, and more!!
@@ChickumBurtango It was such a wink when I heard this, - that solo line was one of the first "mature" licks I learn as a younger guy, props! - I totally hear that. good ear CB
Anna's bass playing technique was definitely the best! Rikki's bass lines were super sick though and if I were a bassist that would be my style of playing as well going between the low frets and high frets of the bass. Justin is so entertaining man whatever he does makes me laugh and he actually pulled it off pretty good with his bass playing as well. Well done all 3 of you! \m/
Was absolutely awesome watching all of this, already can't wait for Season 3 so thanks for another awesome season, Jared, and here's to another round of this next year
Justin Bonitz is the most professional, most talented (although Kacey and Austin (Dickey) are incredibly talented as well), easiest to get along with, and the most entertaining person on the show! He kills it on bass (while not being a bassist) and I’ll watch anything he’s involved with. Oh and anyone who hasn’t checked out his band Tallah is missing out, 2 flawless albums and a third will be dropping soon! 🤘
My biggest issue with the bass challenge was that they were all allowed to treat it so differently. soulfire played it more like a guitar, borderline guitar solo, aeris, played it like a hidden baseline, and grey stone played it like a bass player that followed the guitar line. Loved all of them but I wish the rules were more specific as to what the judges should’ve been looking for
Yeah...far and away the worst choice won too. When it comes to actually displaying what makes a bass unique, Anna and Justin each had moments doing the best on the separate tracks, but Ricky just played it like a guitar.
@ I don’t even think the worst won, cuz they all could’ve won depending on the context and they just played what they felt which is t right or wrong but it left to a confusing decision
Really liked Rikki but I feel like the challenge was mostly based on showmanship. But at the same time I think that allowing them to play just to showcase their strong points doesn't help at all, you can't show true musicianship if you have a secure comodity to play only on your comfort zone. They should've gave them a track to play to the same way they did to the drummers.
@@CrownlessStudios I mean, the guy's "name" is Rikki Thrash! LOL Yeah, he is going to play a bass solo like it's a guitar. And so what? One of the best bass solos of thrash metal was Anesthesia(Puling Teeth) by Cliff Burton and that is a bass being solo'd like a guitar. Makes sense to me. All 3 bassists did a good job, though. I feel Anna was WAY out of her element and really didn't get to showcase her skills and talents. I could tell she kind of already knew what was going to happen in that competition. I mean, it does kinda suck that Rikki is truly a professional and I FULLY expected him to obliterate the other two (which he did), so in that way, that individual competition wasn't necessarily rigged, but it HEAVILY favored Rikki.
Jared, this show is golden, absolutely fantastic, so entertaining. What's up with you promoting it though? I don't see it being promoted anywhere, and it deserves waaaay more views!!!!

I just realized that Anna is Anna Sentina, she's an amazing bass player beyond anything we've seen on the show. I still have a bunch of her bass tracks in my music library and enjoy hearing her play whenever these tracks pop up.
honestly hoping next season we dont have certain VIBE KILLERS that we had this season a couple people just seemed to be terrible energy wise and collaboration wise. it would suck to lose the lottery of having someone like that on your team for the whole competition.
If you're talking about Aeris singer I get it, I really liked the band but I think some of their internal issues throws the band back. They all seem to take it just too seriously and forget to actually enjoy it.
I mean, that is what brings the natural drama! If everyone was getting along all the time, it would just be a show about fifteen musicians who have to join a random band and make music. And while that is cool, it is so different when you have these clashing personalities. It is stressful. You do not wanna lose your cool and be unprofessional, but you are also like, "Dude, come on! You're making this really difficult for us!" At the end of the day, just like in season one, everyone was so nice and humble and amazing to work with even if the cameras did not pick it up :)
I'm halfway through this episode right now, but my predictions are that Soulfire is gonna win this season. They've had basically no drama and they work together really well. Aeris have some calm members, but several of the others are all over the place. Graystone are amazing, but the drama brought on for the Trapt cover definitely caused a ripple. IDK why, but Nik and Paula always being right next to each other feels like it's taking away from the overall potential this season. We shall see, but even though Graystone are my favorite, I think Soulfire are well rounded enough to easily bag the overall win.
The members of Soulfire seem to be more “seasoned” musicians. Everybody is good, no doubt, but you can see that a lot of them work as individuals instead of in bands.
This show wouldn't have felt out of place on MTV in the early 2000's. Can't get enough of it. 💪 Wish a network would give you a budget and pick it up!!!
I haven’t watched s1 but I really love the music challenges. I wonder if there could be different kinds of challenges besides jamming or playing a song though, like the online games where you have to tap in tempo, Music trivia, or even joke challenges that riff off of musician stereotypes so contestants can have a bit of a decompress

honestly hoping next season we dont have certain VIBE KILLERS that we had this season a couple people just seemed to be terrible energy wise and collaboration wise. it would suck to lose the lottery of having someone like that on your team for the whole competition.
If you're talking about Aeris singer I get it, I really liked the band but I think some of their internal issues throws the band back. They all seem to take it just too seriously and forget to actually enjoy it.
Good to know I'm not the only one. It's such a bummer because they're all talented but there's one person ruining it for everyone else
For real though, i feel like she was sleeping 90% of the times Aeris were practicing
It’s a shame because Kacey does have talent but seems like one of the most insufferable people on this planet.
You're making this really difficult for us!"
At the end of the day, just like in season one, everyone was so nice and humble and amazing to work with even if the cameras did not pick it up :)
Stoked and absolutely grateful to have been apart of this season. Thanks for having me, and thank y’all for watching. 🩷

So far this is absolutely been one of my top three favorite reality shows
This show wouldn't have felt out of place on MTV in the early 2000's. Can't get enough of it. 💪
Wish a network would give you a budget and pick it up!!!
A network would kill the show. Staying independent like this is part of why it’s great
It took me a solid minute to get the "Alexa" joke. I feel dumb as a brick. 😝
Thank you Jared and Team! Can't wait for season 3!!
I saw Bryce from Shadow of Intent and Taylor from Left To Suffer in the crowd that’s sickkkk they def need to be judges
this is the only version of these kind of shows I wanna watch. somebody has to be offering Jared a bag to get more of it.
Anna was absolutely robbed off the bassist win. She showed everything a bassist should be. Happy for Rikki but goddamn, there was no contest
Anna always seems so sad 😕 I just wanna give her a hug or something and say she's doing amazing !! 🙌
DUDE I waited all week for this man so stoked
Casey not realising e# and f are enharmonic equivalents got me 😅
I haven’t watched s1 but I really love the music challenges. I wonder if there could be different kinds of challenges besides jamming or playing a song though, like the online games where you have to tap in tempo, Music trivia, or even joke challenges that riff off of musician stereotypes so contestants can have a bit of a decompress
this series NEEDS more love!
I really wish I could be part of Musician Mansion 3 can't describe how much I love this
Amazing production value, Jared.
This watches like an actual TV show.
