I bought one of these for a Savage .22lr several years ago. Works great for small game hunting. I can't justify spending more for a scope than I did for the rifle, especially on a .22lr.
Just found your channel and am a sub for life. I like bushnell but have gotten away from the. For the past 15 years or so . Glad to see a serious review with knowledge Of optics done on their series of newer scopes. I appreciate your dedication to making sure every aspect of each scope is seen. I have some Steiner's,vortex and a vector that I truly love . I know it's a much lower class than the previous but it is far my favorite . It's a older 2.5x15x56 and I tell you I would put that glass against the Steiner anytime. I can see no difference in the 2. Vortex series do not come close. Meaning diamondback and crossfire 1 and 2. But I can say that the engage 50mm is a really nice optic and the elite surpasses the vector and that's hard for me to say. I'm nobody when it comes to optics but BUSHNELL has a new customer once again. I plan on buying 3 elites by years end . Just waiting on specs and using one in field first. My buddy bought the elite 6500 4.5x30x50 and that is the best optic I've ever looked through period. I'm looking to put one on a 338 lapua but dont know how well it handles recoil. But anyway thank you for your vids keep up the good work
Another great video. I just purchased Savage a is II in the 350 legend and this scope is what came with it. Can't beat it for the money. Thanks for posting
I got this because of you a while ago! It’s been great as my first scope Although I use it for target practice atm, soon tho I want to take it wild-boar hunting. I use an aea challenger .357 air rifle shoots a 160gr at like 900fps, I use powder coated lead atm but I’m working on some pure tin powder coated for hunting soon, although they probably won’t be as accurate. Rn I can get a 4in group at 75ft so I need to be able to get like a 3in at 100ft before I feel comfortable I think, so I need allot more practice.
I picked up a Banner 2 in 4-12x40 a while ago to put on my Savage .17HMR. Love it for what it is. Decent glass and great reticle for varmints. And you can dial in your reticle for bullet drop per your cartridge with their app, just like SR says, and it works very well. Only issues for me is it has a pretty small eyebox and the edges are a tiny bit fuzzy at 12x, but you can get used to it. Still very usable for what I'm doing and holds zero perfectly.
I had a Bushnell Banner fixed 4x. It was on a shotgun, 30-30 lever action, AR-15, and finally an Ak-47 (which killed it). It was a great value for about $75 from Bass Pro back in 2001. Banner 2 looks like another good budget scope. Thanks for the review.
As a fairly new hunter, the bullet drop reticle coupled with the Bushnell Ballistics app makes it easy to know where to aim. Now if I can just get used to the recoil of my .270 rifle and find somewhere to hunt in November, I might get a deer.
You can use a half inch strip of black gorilla tape or what we in the military call 100 mile an hour tape; to wrap around the fast focus and scope housing to keep it from turning basically typing it in place I’ve been doing this for years and years and years works great.
The advantage of a scope like this is the low cost, low weight, and field of view. Put it on a 308 and center for 200 yards (almost 2 inches high at 100 yards.) Then you can just aim like a red dot. However, if you think you are shooting past 200 yards, then it might be worth truing the reticle for the hash marks. Maybe the first one below is now 325 yards, for example. I like FFP scopes, myself but this is a great scope to get started with.
I put one on a savage .22 semi auto . Walmart special scope and rifle under $300 . “ the Walmart special “ so many have these setups in higher calibers on a savage or Ruger . I have some of the older Bushnell scopes when they were shiny and they still work on an M1 a1 30.06 . I have their binoculars form the 80 s ! Still decent , solid . I do like Leopold and Nikon and vortex but Bushnell s have always been in my armory . Set it @ 100 yds on full power x9 and then the ballistics app does the rest . Actually there’s a card in the scope box with the .22 info on it
Hey what a great video one of the best reviews I've seen. I'm just wondering if you are familiar with the Sig Sauer Buckmasters Rifle Scope. If so which in you opinion is a better scope? Thanks
I have a older (circa 1999) Banner Dusk to Dawn 4-12x40 AO that I bought at K-Mart as an interim scope for my Ruger Light Rifle 223. I have never bothered to upgrade as it has never let me down. It has killed deer, woodchucks, coyote and fox. Two years ago I fell and dropped it right on the scope putting a nice scar on the front bell. I figured it was done for and planned on replacing it going as far as ordering a replacement Nikon. A trip to range just because I had to know how bad it was and I was shocked to find it still dead on. Since then I’ve put 86 rounds out of it without needing adjustment. I also have a pair of 10x42? Banner Binoculars I bought on clearance at wal mart that stay in my truck. They are pretty tough too.
Thank you for video. I'm in the market for a new scope under $200. What's the least scope between the Bushnell Banner ll 3x9x50 or the Vortex 3x9x50 or 4x12x44 and why? Thank you in advance.
The Banner 2 is the winner for me; its image clarity and low-light performance are better than the Vortex. Better than both, though, is the Bushnell Prime 3-9x40mm. You can usually find it below $200.
OK. Bought one of these scopes from Cabelas-less than $75.00 delivered. Went to range to do some load development and made the following discovery: the scope was unpredictable. It would respond to adjustments but would then mysteriously drift to a new setting six inches away from the original adjustment. It did better with small adjustments followed by a few rounds to help settle presumably the erector assembly. I’ve read that this is typical behavior for many scopes, you have to shoot them in, get them more or less stable, and then don’t mess with them again. I ran out out of patience and returned the scope to Cabelas. Your mileage may vary.
Stinker about the 100 yard parallax. I was about to buy one for a 10/22 that will be shot a 50 yards. I like the idea of putting a center-fire scope on a rimfire. They seem a little better than designated rimfire scope.
I got bushnell Banner 2 on a .350 legend I was curious cause I can’t find where to look but cover to lens I was wanting to put push open flip cover what sizes for both ends on the scope

You CAN re-zero the turret of the banner loosen the screws on top and for the wind it is friction lock when tightened. You just loosen and turn to zero and tighten back up!! Then if you know the math you can take it out to range! Don't on 6.5creed 243win, and than put it on my 22-250 all out to 800yards except the 22-250 that I only took out to 750yards at the time of the 22-250 got the banner I had a razor g2 on my savage modle 10T. I know you like the savage..
This is a nice scope, but two things - this unit doesn't have the parallax adjustment on the front - mine does. Also, the one I have is illuminated which helps me a lot. $150 at sportsmans w. and -18x50 magnification - RB6185BS12
I would take the Bushnell Banner 2 over the Vortex Crossfire II. I had a Crossfire II and sold it to a friend. I bought this as a backup scope and honestly, it’s just as good as the Crossfire II at half the price. The Banner 2 even comes with rings and a protective scope cover. The one thing you get with the Vortex is the unbeatable warranty, but honestly I’d still go with the Banner 2 for the price.

Sure 'nuff! But keep in mind that it will have a fixed parallax at 100 yards. You can still see object closer than that, but you will need to be careful making precision shots. The crosshair will "wander" if your eye is off-center.

Thanks for letting us all know. It sounds like you might be missing a rubber washer. I'll be interested to hear what bushnell says.
I suspect nearly every pew pew owner has a Bushnell 3-9x40 in their arsenal.
I think it's the standard issue for the 30-06 propped in the corner of every Okie house.
Good reviews...I'd like to test that against the Sig Sauer buck master
Me, too. I've only gotten to look through a couple of Sigs and I've been impressed so far.
@@SocialRegressive buck master not as good as the whiskey line. Just my opinion.
Thank you!
No 350 legend ballistic info
No 20 ga sabot either, 22lr,556,308 some 6 mms that it
App is a Joke to use, Bushnell basically blew me off on this, my buddies he bought, turrets moved under the cap
Good review good scope great price
App doesn't support many ammo profiles
Great video
Thanks!
I keep seeing people using this for 22s but I need a scope under 200 for a 308
This should work fine. Check out the Prime, too. It's even better.
@@SocialRegressive Ok, thanks
Can I put this on a 22lr rifle?
Sure 'nuff! But keep in mind that it will have a fixed parallax at 100 yards. You can still see object closer than that, but you will need to be careful making precision shots. The crosshair will "wander" if your eye is off-center.
@@SocialRegressive ok thanks i appreciate it👍
Eye relief is short for hard recoiling guns , the old banner had more eye relief
They make an EER version as well, but that's a 6" eye relief. 😬
banner is not thier low end it is actually a decent scope a DNA’s a lifetime warranty
Scope like this one doesn’t need lockable adjustment parallax is 100 yds. So no point.
super
Please note that rifles with scopes mounted higher above the bore shoot flatter. Just run the numbers to prove this.
you dont need a scope for hunting deer. if its that far away you are not supposed to shoot at it!
