- Let's have a discussion and get each others opinions about this topic. How do you feel? Do you think white people should join historic black organizations and attend black colleges? What about the struggles that these organizations had to fight through back in 1906 and 1911 and such to even exist in the current day? We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comment section.

I will say it is weird seeing them in a historically black organizations , given the struggle our founders had to go through to have our own orgs and as well as that being the reason we started the divine 9 because we were not accepted in the white organizations or schools . But we also have to think that’s probably how they feel about us when we join their organizations. 💯
never forget what our people went through, and what we are going through right now, but to move on we must forgive. There is good and evil in all of us, and it’s our choice which we choose to feed. This is the lesson my elders have taught me, and it’s one I strive to remember, and live by always. I choose good, which will you choose?

I don’t think it’s weird to have white people in black sororities and fraternities. Number one if they wanna go through all the stupid petty hazing that the Black people go through all the power to them. Number two as Black people either part of a Greek organization or not, we always have to be better than the devil they try to bring us down.
Right they have a problem if we join they stuff but want act it’s ok for them to come in a black BLACK sorority or fraternity
its okay for us to gatekeep things and the divine 9 should be one of them
Lol why
@@iluvcakes19 I mean the whole reasoning behind the D9 founding was for black people to be able to join a sorority or fraternity.
I understand that fully, but don’t you dare get upset when you are excluded for being black. No discrimination doors open both ways.
Does that mean blacks should be denied membership into historically white fraternity and sorority’s. What about Latino Greek orgs?
@@Arkman1754 we honestly don’t give a fuck we got our own organizations🤣
It’s not racist to have cultural boundaries to NOT be crossed.
It’s cool to marry outside. It’s cool to have sincere diverse friendships.. but can we please respect the Ancestor’s struggles enough to keep this aspect of our culture to ourselves?!
Why do we just let everybody come on in when they don’t do the same for us? The problem with bringing them in is they’ll learn the flavor, teach it to their people, and 100 years from now, act like they are the originators of the culture and white wash the faces of the founders!
They are already mimicking our step show styles which came from the fact the slaves could not use the drum, so they used their body to play.
Stop giving every damn thing away! Have some self respect!
💯
I understand your perspective but I submit that the D9 organizations were organized in part because of exclusion, which is why we welcome inclusivity….
Most of the guys that created these organizations where upperclass republican black people who allowed everyone to join them but they want specifically for black people to be welcomed in Greek life
@@s3hooliganyou sound dumb!! 🥴🤡
I am a member of the D9, and I totally agree.
We can't just have one thing for us geesh
Exactly! Just curious with over 30 organizations that they have, why do they join black ones?
@@landofgreekstv Exactly like Greek has been the one thing that we have been able to keep for ourselves and now we don't even have that
Exactly! Smfh
Be better.
But it’s a Greek creation is it not?
We can’t have shyt. I hope she know everything BLACK in the D9.
Truth is when it is convenient, to this is cultural appropriation!!
Facts.
As someone who has participated in certain organizations/organization I just feel that many of our own people black peoples get turned away truth be told! They go to all the interest meetings and have the gpa but get turned away primarily due to looks or lack of affiliation to most likely being friends or legacy to someone who is in the organization! It’s hurts to see other races get accepted in ones someone of the same race has gotten turned away!
You know what that fraternity or sorority was just not for you, and you should be happy they rejected you, you don’t have to buy friends to make it life.
say it Louder this generation doesn't truly understand why this is unacceptable!
We will never learn…sadly.
I know a chapter that will not accept them in.
💯
All y'all comments are for the birds! Thank you sis! I'm from White lake, Michigan. Milford is our rivals. During state track trials, I saw a man run with a straight up Nazi tattoo on his whole chest. Thank you for being an ally sis! Thank you in white ass America that you have learned and helped us continue the fight. God bless you girl! Black power, white ally power, thanks for everything you're doing and ignore the the haters. We need people like you because as 13% of the population we ain't doing nothing by ourselves.
My Frat did the same thing and a bunch of us strongly disagreed with it and when you disagree with something like that it's like World War 3 I will never agree with it I think it is totally disrespectful to the divine nine
We share similar views and believe that founding fathers and sisters fought for so much that it shouldn’t be so common that non black people are getting in. What was the reason your frat wanted to bring white people in so much?
@@landofgreekstv I still don't know to this day I don't think they would have an answer
that would be good enough for me all I know it's a trigger for them to answer that question
Wow 😯 smh
They have over 30 big organizations, just don’t understand why they want to be a part of black organizations, when d9 orgs were built to benefit only the blk community.
@@landofgreekstv and if you ask that question I promise you it will turn into an argument before someone has an answer. my grandmother is 83 years old and she's AKA and she said that if they actually understood the hell that we went through back then they would think differently about allowing Caucasian people to step foot in those sacred Halls
They always have to try and included somehow
It's because too many of us want acceptance from them so bad that we allow it thinking we've reached a higher level by having a wyt person join a Black organization. 🙄
Racist!
They want our rhythm but not our blues.
Their frats and soros will NOT let black students join them! And their soros try to copy black soros. Damn shame.
Get outta here with the diversity excuse, its much more than that. I am an HBCU intellectual, and our black colleges and universities have a reason for their existence ; and so, does its divine 9 organizations. Believe what you want, the essence of being a black person makes me proud and my community will accept me, regardless. Ice Daddy MIA
Thank you!! Finally a Black man willing to stand up and tell these fools the truth!!! ❤️❤️
I am sorry I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha and this is extremelyyyy problematic!
Agree 100%!!!!
@@only1rb Its very cringeworthy and sort of a "trend" like "who has the biggest balls" type thing. The infiltration of black culture and the obessesion with black culture in general has hit an all time high. I vote a mandatory psych mandate be placed and all non blacks at this point need a damn support group lolol. Like girl and boy "LOVE THY SELF" Whew I praise GOD everyday that I was created made and born BLACK. lol hahahaha
I just watched a video where AKAs were so proud of their latest yt addiction…members were cussing out every Black person that thought it was problematic.
How please explain
It's sad that you black people, SO EDUCATED, are still willing to give them EVERYTHING just to feel accepted in society!
CHAKA ZULU ROLLIN IN THA DEEP! 🤦🏾♂️
They don't hear you. You're 100% correct.
@@dcoldestjenkins5868 and that's tha saddest because it's right in their faces! 🤦🏾♂️
And it's sad that you're a racist.
I say welcome, and as the sister so eloquently said we are one! We each have a part in bettering our situation, union not more exclusion.
We are NOT one and NEVER have been!! They ONLY want solidarity when it's beneficial to them!!! 🙄🤡
If they make it in, then so be it. These are black women choosing non-black women to join. Maybe ask them why they chose that person and why she felt compelled to be in a black sorority? I prefer to keep it all black, but I would not exclude someone based on their race.
right lol
Look you need diversity. Why because you need certain people to go places that you can’t go!!!
I'm still on the fence about it!!
Me too. I don't like it at all
@@RhoyalOne1922 why because it's racist
I commend this young lady for doing what she’s doing, it’s not very many white people that will put themselves in the position to be the minority. We need more people like her, especially in the small town in Illinois that I work in that tried to protest black history at my job.
Typical Black male!!! 🥴🙄 Black women don't want them!! 🙄🤡
Yall weird its about choosing the BEST BROTHER or SISTER. Color dont matter. They have to go through the SAME thing everyone else does stfu.
Lol
Once’s again we fall for the Okey-doke
its all fun and games until one of those members sues to get an executive role in their respective org.
I get that those are historically black sororities and it’s made for black people originally but I’ve heard from some sorority women from d9 themselves that if a non black woman did get in that’s because she earned it. So therefore I don’t think that’ll be wrong because either way they have to get accepted in and I heard they don’t just choose anybody. Anyway I definitely agree not just anybody can go in. If a non black person wants to join they would definitely need to earn it
Yeah, you're not even connected to D9 culture and it sounds like you're not connected to black culture. White people have no business being part of D9.
Who gives a fuck if she earned it she doesn't DESERVE it!!! 🙄🤡
Maybe they feel more connected and have more reverence for D9. If the shoe was on the other foot then we would be trying to pull the black card. We can’t won’t to be included at the same time trying to ban others from our groups.
This Pisses me off , we are so ready to allow the enemy in to learn and destroy our ways from within!! This should be a crime but it's all about members and money!! Nothing is sacred to us and to us only, SAD !! Black people try in Join the KKK OR THE HELLS ANGELS !!
UN SAID the right word: MONEY HUNGRY.
I mean she has to be accepted by these black women
So if they deem her acceptable and see her as a sister who am I to sit here and piss on their cereal about it
If he went through the tough process then she earned it🤷🏽♂️
They wanna be d9 but ain’t breaking down our door to help us get in kappa delta
TRU!
It is really sad given the tireless work done by these organizations to develop leaders and promote changes to have such negative comments and insidious intentions expressed against these institutions and the individuals who choose to become members… I am not so certain why but perhaps you should speak with some members to get a more clear understanding
I don't care what race skin color racial identity you are about going to any colleges in the United States for supporting you're freedom at least from first and second amendment like the concept of freedom of speech and the god that we trust I don't care which person you look like whether you're white alone or black or asian or hispanic/latino
I’m curious about black trans people and how the D9 feels about trans folks wanting to pledge cause I’ve been seeing the rise of non blacks (more than just white) any thoughts?
As a member of a D9 organization I do NOT support transgender membership. You want an organization...start your own and build it.
Same goes for transgender women competing in female athletics...total bullsh!t. Create a transgender division and the playing field is level.
We will never learn….sadly.
Thats cool
I'm not a big fan of this.
That white girl is part of delta sigma theta step off
I'm just wondering how many of y'all (D9 members or not) have records/CD's by ANY of the following artists:
AWB
Teena Marie
Bobby Caldwell
3rd Bass
Eminem
Jon B
Robin Thicke
etc.
Get the point here?
People were mad when Kanye said slavery was a choice…he wasn’t lying!
Kanye tried to pledge and didnt make the cut
Hey Great work Soror! ❤️ΔΣΘ❤️
Congratulations is what you came up with what sit back and ask yourself I wonder how many black women got told that they were not good enough but this white woman was
Great point
@@areyousure5439 oh wow😳.. good point!
Smh...I wanted to read the comments...and I did. I can't help but shake my head. I'm SO glad that That SOROR ain't paying none of these raggedy comments any attention. She's working. Like Deltas DO! I crack up with the "our organizations" from comments that don't even have an argument because you don't hold a membership. So ...she's a Delta. We'll keep her. Don't like it...lol keep your application. Ooohhh...but wait...that's not the point. It's just the entertainment of talking from OUTSIDE it all.
@@areyousure5439 BIG FACTS !!!!!!! Same statement I made ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I’m from Talladega, home to an HBCU, and seeing white folks go there has honestly never been strange to me… lots of people from all races are raised in and around Black communities and are most comfortable in Black spaces. We often embrace them, and I find that to be comforting. I never pledged, and I can’t speak to how their presence affects Divine 9 members, but when I contemplated pledging in college, I did find it refreshing that so many rules had been made to prevent and punish hazing. Basically, nobody can be outright discriminated against or abused during intake; so maybe embracing White pledges is an after-effect of those changes 🤷🏽♀️
Also, The University of Alabama is still keeping Black girls out of White sororities… I know a girl who rushed REPEATEDLY and never crossed. I wouldn’t want to feel rejected like that, so if the pledges are sincere and are learning while participating… maybe it’s not an awful thing
I mean, what more could you ask from an ally, right?
Why?
All ❤️
Remember integration? Think about it
People we have to forgive and move on with people because just like he said, every white person is not a racist; but when y'all are going against other races joining a black fraternity or sorority that actually makes y'all racists as well. Jesus taught us to love one another and live with each other in harmony. Most black people can't get along with each other anyways because of jealousy and envious towards one another. We have to stop all of this because everyone is your brother and your sister. I'm so glad that I don't have hatred for people like this.
The part about blacks not getting along!!!! FAAACTS
Yes because of the hate that was taught by her people...👀
Could you kindly shut up.
It’s not racist to have boundaries around your culture.
Jesus was black and ask yourselves who turned Jesus white? It surely wasn't black people. The original jews were black and how all of the sudden jews became white. Just look at Gaza Isreal situation and ask yourselves Do you see any black people or black jews causing all the conflict? How about letting others nonblack people into black dance culture. Elvis becomes king of black culture, Eminem becomes king of hip hop, he's pretty mediocre. How about whites trying to promote taylor swift as the the new motown sound. No read correctly. White tried to promote her Shake it Off song as the new motown sound but in fact they were culturally appropriating the motown horn sound into the song. So all you fools better wake up and see how a hbcu is 90% white is stealing from your ancestors at Bluefield State college.
I have a question about all this. But from a different perspective. So what if when the other white sororities have a black woman want to join them. And they turned around and said things like. "Go join your own Sorority!" or "Why you gotta join us? This is ours?" or "We cant just have things on our own"! Would there not be an Uproar. And I'm not talking about in the past. I am talking Present day.!!! Right now! Also, do you have an issue with white people coming to HBCU's as well? I'm not siding either way. Just questions.
Um… that is exactly what happened! Black Greek organization were founded because of segregation and rejection to white sororities and fraternities.
You can't pick and choose black history especially if you aren't black. EVERYTHING about black people is about our history and what's going on now. You think racism stopped at one point? And yes, white people should be at PWI's.
Im just glad when I was interested in LTA as an undergrad they didn’t treat me like this. There’s obviously a reason I want to join and it isn’t because I want to play skin color bingo. I identify with the philanthropy and mission and I don’t have to be Latina and they still accept me. I understand and respect the history and struggle of another race and glad they didn’t say go away Black girl we don’t want you! We can never have anything etc.
They are welcome if they are about that… if they go through what they need to go through it’s fine and bless you.!!!
Well, y’all Black tails ain’t Greek to begin with so….
I was looking for this comment 😂. Thank you!
