    VISITS, classes, tours, yoga - anything on your property requires insurance to cover your back side - LOVE all of your great ideas. Another set of ideas - if you butcher for yourself or have a decent butcher - selling skins, horns, hooves, meat can be turned into dog food and never forget the blessings of manure and compost sells :) Thanks Delci

    I'm turning my inheritance into something great! I got inheritance after my mother past and my partner inherited a really good chunk of land. We have decided to turn that bit of land into a homestead with a few cows, goats, chickens and ducks. We plan to offer goat milk, kids, meat and cow milk and calves. Duck eggs, duck meat, ducklings same for chickens. We are looking at rainwater collection and solar power but still have utility hookups for some things. We also plan for bees and plant growth/veggies. We want an honesty road side farm stall. So far we just have the cash and the land but we are so excited to get started and your videos are so helpful in my research! We want to be as self sufficient as we possibly can. His son is super excited that he's going to be able to help raise some kids and chickies and help with the homestead. I thought I had a crazy idea but I'm so glad we are all so excited about turning dreams to reality.

    Hi from Western Australia, Delci. New subscriber; I find your videos very easy to watch, informative, full of very practical information. We grew up in small country towns, and finally at age 62 we bought our first farm. I’m grateful and blessed to say that we bought our place debt free, we’ve added substantial infrastructure (still without debt). Our livestock started with bees and laying hens, 2 female rabbits, then we added meat chickens for our own consumption. Tomorrow is a very exciting day for us, as we are going to meet and select our first Nigerian dwarf doe kids. It’s hard work, but we love it. We’re heading to self sufficiency, eggs, honey, chicken. We grow a decent amount of our fruit and veggies which are amazingly delicious, I use multiple preservation methods for every harvest time. We’ve only been here 18 months now, and I reckon in about another 2 years, we’ll be able to schedule a day off. 😂. Keep up the good work, Delci. God bless you and keep you safe xx 🙏🏽❤️

    Hi Delci I'm in Australia and I'm subscribed to a guy who makes a lot of very high quality cheeses in his kitchen with just simple pots and pans. Plus he has a very good book on small scale production of cheese but there are a lot Amazon. The thing is he has a huge following from all over the world as I know you do so if you don't actually sell the cheese and it's a hobby you'll have a lot of friends 😀

This year I plan to upgrade the cheese to hard cheeses, and start making soaps. Of course I will need practice first. I am pretty good at training young doelings to the stanchion and like your idea of raising them for in milk does. We sell in milk does occasionally but not as a farm plan. Sounds like fun.

    The “package” idea is exactly what I’ve been thinking about for selling my honey products and goat milk products and even garden items. I’m happy to hear you give that idea as well. Now I just have to learn how to make all the products that I have in my head 😂
    We’ve raised 9 baby goats on whole milk and they thrive so much. One doe didn’t produce any milk at all for her twin girls. Our Breeder sells her babies on bottle using whole milk. It opens up the world to anybody who wants a bottle baby to raise as a super friendly goat. Just another thought for making money by selling baby goats. Of course, we’ve made $00000 so far selling them 🤣🤣

    After 3 years on our farm we just seem to break even and that is fine with us. We was thinking about milking one of our goats and buying a pump to milk her. • @DelcifromALifeofHeritage
      @DelcifromALifeofHeritage  4 года назад +1

      Hey there! That's so great that you're breaking even! That's a relief and a huge blessing! That's hard to say as to how to go about this.
      You could either:
      1. Set aside money from your goat income and be willing to fill in needed money from your main fund if you're short at the end of the year.
      2. Sell an extra goat or do one or more of the ideas in this video to make extra money to be set aside for the purchase of the pump.
      3. Buy the pump with funds from your "day job" or other jobs. And save the money made from the the goats to pay for the goat supplies/hay. And just know that it's an investment that you've thought about, decided on and it's important and will make life easier. And if you don't have the full funds right now, put away $10, $50, $100 a month to save up for it.
      Get together as a family and decide which would be the best way to do this for your family.
      Hope that helps :) Best of wishes!

      Yoga is a Hindu religion thing. Not Buddhist. Goat yoga sounds gross!
