I have many favorite Christmas gift memories but one that stands out was Super MARIO All Stars for SNES. I first saw the game in an issue of Nintendo Power and I instantly became obsessed. I begged my parents to buy it for me all holiday season. It was torture looking at the display cabinet at the store and seeing the game. On a side note the box art for the game is among my favorite. Christmas Day came and I got the game for Christmas among others and I was happy. Since then I’ve also bought the Wii 25th anniversary edition. I’d also like to request Nintendo to made a Super MARIO All Stars 2 with all the 3D Mario games in it.
I remember it was my freshman year of high school. Christmas morning came and my Dad got me a red Nintendo 3DS XL with Ocarina of Time 3D cartridge hiding in the slot. I was so happy that day and played it non stop for weeks. I took my 3DS literally everywhere I went. My love for Nintendo that year grew so much.
Especially as a teenager we got to open one gift early. The year legend of Zelda Ocarina of time came out my parents lived in different States and I was going to visit my father for Christmas so my mom let me open 1 gift the night before the last day of school before Christmas break and it was Ocarina of time I spent the night in raw amazement exhausted the next day at school with nothing else on my mind
Hard to say if this is my favorite Nintendo holiday memory, but it's the one with the most interesting story. Fair warning, there might be more text than the typical comment. My parents were good friends with another family in the area we lived in at the time. If they ever needed a sitter, they would usually drop me off at their place. They had an NES, so I always looked forward to visiting. This was my first exposure to video games, with Super Mario Bros. being the first game I played. I don't remember what year it was, but I ended up getting an NES 2 for Christmas. That was the end of life model with the top-loader. I was only familiar with the original model at the time, but I didn't care. I could play these games at home now. In case it wasn't obvious, this was the first game console I ever owned. Now is the part where the story takes a dark turn. I had the NES for less than a year when I returned from grocery shopping with my mom to find our house had been broken into. The burglars were long gone by the time we got home, but the house had been ransacked. That's terrifying for anyone, regardless of age. It was even worse for me, because the NES had been stolen, along with all the games. This included one rental game. Only a few months into owning my first game console, and it was gone. If you've made it this far, keep reading. There is a happy ending to this story. I never got the NES back, but my parents acted quickly to the situation. I think it was the day after the burglary that my dad took me shopping for a replacement console. My parents said it could be any one console of my choice, with a few games to get me started. That's when I saw the Super Nintendo bundle with Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World. Thanks to the multi-cart in that bundle, I ended up with five extra games that I wouldn't have had otherwise. Apparently, the multi-cart is also highly sought-after by collectors, now. I'll never sell it, though, because of what it represents for me. The SNES became my favorite Nintendo console of all time, and held that title for years. The Switch is the first to rival it. It's weird to think that for as devastated as I was when my first game console was stolen, I wouldn't want to go back and change anything with this situation. Too many good memories tied to the aftermath.
Man, that must have sucked getting the NES stolen. Atleast you got to experience the SNES afterwards so thats good. The SNES was and still is one of my favorite consoles of all time! I remember the times of playing games like Super Mario World, Yoshi's island and Donkey Kong country 2 with my brother. Good times!
I remember I wanted a Wii to play Epic Mickey. On Christmas, my parents got me Epic Micky and pretend they thought it was a CD-ROM game, only to actually give me a Wii. The same thing happened with my DS and 3DS
If you guys bring back the magazines I'll pay $60 for my first 12 month subscription. There is so much coming out for switch these days we need this. Not to mention Nintendo barely gets attention in game informer
Mine would be that one time my mother utterly trolled me. I had asked for Mario Kart DS and saw that none of the presents' size matched that of a DS box. I was bummed out. I choose to open the largest one, only to find a... box of crispbread?! ... a few painful seconds later, I'm told to actually check out what it's inside, and there was the game x) And that's how I realised which parent I got my more jerkish tendencies from ;)
I remember getting a Nintendo DS on Christmas, and I forgot what games I got with it on that same day, but my collection got really big, also didn't know you guys did podcasts, it's awesome! 😄😁👍
One suggestion I would make for this podcast is maybe a little reward for those who listen in. Like a secret passcode or something that will get you a small amount of platinum or gold points for their Nintendo account.
When I was young, we got a SNES and it was a magical time. We got it with Mario World and Mario Kart and I love both of those games to this day. Later on I remember getting a N64 for Christmas and that was the best gaming memory I've ever had. It was the greatest thing in history to play through Super Mario 64 for the first time.
I haven't had time to check the coming soon part of the eshop ..But when I hears that Smite for the makers of one of my first fa favorite heroes, massive, multiplayer, team based online shooters. ( besides splatoon and splatoon 2) The game im talking about is Paladins champions of the realm a free to play game. But I know of smite. .but know I will be getting to know the game better now.
Im so happy to you nintendo so really! I really play on 2.12.2018 The switch! But is on other land. And is was on "Donau zentrum". I play Super mario odyssey and Super mario party. It was so fun. Thank you

I still remember getting a Game Boy for Christmas in 92. Obviously I played it the most but my mom would play a good amount of Tetris on it.
