You have to make people respect your moves ie: make them scared of pressing buttons. They mash a lot? Power crush They spam power crush? Throw them They turtle a lot? Jab-check with a throw in between, jab-check, fish for the CH. Stop committing to every string, a lot of enders are punishable, not all combos are natural combos anyway as some can be blocked or stepped mid-string. Gotta practice your movement so you can start baiting out the whiffs. For defensive play, there's reaction training, PhiDX and Speedkicks have routines for this.
