Great idea to film a ball at various focus distances! I only managed to film it at a portrait distance for my Cinelux, never thinking of manually animating the squeeze :) That's too painful... Of course there is an easier way for big-budget productions, they have matchmove artists semi-automatically calculating variable lens distortion in 3DEqualizer using grid shots of pro anamorphic lenses, which can transfer focus distance data into the software. Working on such shots right now, thinking how much harder our indie film life is :)

Damn, can’t imagine manually fixing variable squeeze for something long form like a feature film. The amount of man hours spent fixing it and keeping track of every focus rack on set would probably cost more than renting a lens with a constant squeeze.

nice, still recording videos with Isco 2x on s51. finished shooting today of me playing duduk. unrelated question Tito what are your thoughts about anamorphic photos? have done this for years but no community.

I love anamorphic photos, the only think I find hard about it is the aspect ratio for printing, and the fact that lightroom still can't desqueeze them. But very small community, indeed.

Does it help or hinder to use the Sirui 1.25x adapter or the GreatJoy 1.35x adapter? Someone on Reddit said that the GreatJoy adapter would completely stop the squeeze factor changes on the 1.33 lenses. So maybe the 1.25x adapter by Sirui does the same ... And what about using the SLR anamorphic adapters? Have you experienced this by any chance? Sorry for all the questions. But you are our guru ;-)

Thank you for your great explanations! Do you know whether there are desqueeze charts for Sirui lenses out there somewhere? I own the 1.33 set (including the MARS version) ...
    Best wishes

Hahaaha take it easy, bro! I've been working with Blazar to try and get a demo set. I haven't received one, hence no review. But there are more reviews coming. :)
