    Those '64 staggered pickups sound fantastic!!!👍

    I've put those 64 staggers in a Mark Knopfler partscaster and they sound awesome. And the little killers I put in a Blackmore partscaster, although I wired the two coils in parallel to keep the strat vibe while still having hum cancelling. If you're wiring this way, you're better off with the more higher output ones again.

    The color option of that Slick SL-57 is not in the website. Are you adding it anytime soon?

    This sounds so much better than the Slick guy who can’t play or tune his guitar 👏

    I've own few strats in the cheap range. MIM Standard, MIM Deluxe player, Cort Strat type, Dean Selynsky Strat type and the SL57. The last one stands out from the res by a big margin. I've also played many American Fender Strats and yes they are superior, but for the money, the SL57 is an amazing deal.

      Slick guitars are solid built and tone. This is petty but I can’t get along with that headstock both appearance and build.

    You have to make a video about the gold foils. The videos of the gold foil pickups are really bad.

    I've been building vintage style partscasters for many years, trying many pickups. I did appreciate the Slick 56 strat set for the good tone/cost ratio. Good "piano" tones. They were the best GFS I tried. But, Klein pickups have been my favorite after trying many boutique and big name brand sets. I have tried many of Klein's vintage to hot vintage sets. They are the most open 3-D sounding strat pickup sets I have tried, Recently I thought I'd try Kleins lowest wound set, the Klein Epic 55' set. It has been a real eye opener. The low wind allows for super open tones, ringing highs, but no ice-pick, with medium lows that are tight. To my surprise they growl really nicely, yet retain the open tone with my amps at about 3/4 to full volume. Hotter pickups often gain in mids to the detriment of higher notes while they growl earlier. I think the Klein 55 set is exceptional with low wind upper clarity, while still getting plenty of growly breakup. Thats the ticket, great ringing highs with good mids and lows, with breakup.. Klein is my favorite winder, but they cost 250$ a set. And the 55' set is my favorite Klein set after owning many of his other very open sets. I think going low wind might be better than high wind. Keep the beautiful detailed highs, and use amps with wattages that you can crank into good growling breakup tones.

    Wish they would sell the tele with the goldfoil pickups AND a bigsby!

    Good, but I think it lacked a punch, a stronger grip to feel the pickups better. I think it's worth a part II for these series 🙂

    Hey what humbucker would work well with the 64' Stag?

    Doesn’t the SL57 guitar come with Slick 65’ pickups, not the Slick 57’ pickups?
    (The Slick 65’ pickups sound really good, BTW)
    Jessie, when you drink a cup of coffee out in public, do people try to put spare change in it?
    Me too! I blame it on being so darn charismatic!

      Hey Richard! If you're wanting a solid sounding vintage Strat set, I would recommend the 64 Stagger Vintage Grey-Bottom Boutique set or if you liked the relic look on the SL57, check out the Slick "65" Staggered Pole Alnico set.

    Why not match the damn headstock to match the body on the sl57 blue. Or at least leave it bare with a finish?

      You can cut out some strips of white sticker and make it say “SUCK IT” or put black tape over the Slick or you can paint it or put a 62’ Fender neck on it like a did.

    Pretty cool, but I looked on the site. No HSH pre wired pick guards. Ya know, old school Dave Murray style.

    • @GuitarfetishTV
      @GuitarfetishTV  2 года назад

      Although there aren't currently any H/S/H prewired pickguards, we do sell easy to install Kwikplug harnesses and pickups that could be paired up with an H/S/H pickguard.

      @@GuitarfetishTV I hear you man. But in watching the video I thought there would totally be one. Then I checked the site and didn't see it. My first few guitars were HSH (Jackson PS4, Ibanez RG) so it's a layout I like.
      It's all cool though, you guys have cool stuff.

    I have a cheap hss that I am considering upgrading with trem, saddle, tuners, etc. What would you suggest for the p'ups? Is there a "vintage" hss combo? Or should I just go standard strat. I liked the sound of the 64s.

      @GuitarfetishTV  2 года назад +1

      Hey Bruce! You can't go wrong with the 64's for the single coils. They pair very nicely with our Vintage 59 humbuckers if you're going for the full vintage vibe.

    GFS. I like your products. Now. Please. Make your wiring instructions clear please. Put a diagram for your rail pickups on your site. And make it for different configurations on a stratocaster. Clearly and up to date.
