Good stuff guys. Enjoy the flix. Ever need an add on to help you eat some fish I think I've ɓeen doing the same things for about 48 yrs. I even cast a fish or two once in awhile. Enjoy your videos. I even catch a fish once in awhile.😊 thank you gents
Been up there several times on the Manistee. Very pretty. Hope to get up there again next season. I've been doing the same as you guys. Going to different places in the U.S. mostly. A few trips to Canada, but Missouri the Boundry Waters up there.
Thanks Jim. We enjoyed your study very much. We found the people to be very friendly and hospitable. After leaving the Manistee, we spent A few days on the Pine River and had a great time there as well. That video should be coming out in a week or so. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
I'll watch it when it's out. We have a place on the Upper Platte River just north of the Pine...Not an overnight float but a beautiful little river. We did a winter kayak float (Jan 1st) on one of the rivers in the area as well (that ones on my channel). Hope you make it back to Michigan at some point... @@blindrangeroutdoors5849
Thanks. I have watched all of your videos on the Manistee River. In fact, I even reached out to you on Facebook last summer for a little information. I enjoyed your videos very much and we enjoyed our trip to northern Michigan. We will be heading to Missouri in May to float a couple rivers.
@@johnrogers7316 I did a lot of research on the state and federal websites but honestly it did not do much good. The boundaries were not well marked. Essentially we found campsites that were well-established and do not know for certain if they state, federal or even possibly private land? FYI, you are supposed to download a permit on the state of Michigan website and complete it and post it at your site. We did this, but we’re not sure if we were actually on state land or not. I had also called a state park up in that area that manages the state land along the Manistee. He is the one that told me about the permit. So, first night we stayed an hour or so hello Sharon bridge on the left side of the river. Really nice site, I am pretty sure that I mentioned how far along the bridge we camped on my video. You might want to check that again. The second night, we camped on river right. Pretty sure, I gave an estimated location of that site in my video. I just don’t recall off the top of my head. That is the site that we stay two nights. It was not a good campsite. It had a extremely steep I to climb up and a robe came right down to that campsite. The campsite itself was very large but the climb up the bank was difficult for getting water, etc. The third night, we were only about an hour or two upstream from Chippewa landing on the right. It was fairly close to a sand dune. It was a great site. Sorry I cannot be more helpful, but we struggled to find them as well.
Lol we live in the area you were ass backward in - we laughed our butts off at your running commentary on where you thought you were. We've floated that trip so many times we've lost count so next time you want to float the Mansitee river, take a local with you. While you were whining and boo-hooing about not having a campsite, you floated by some of the best in the area...you were just to blind and backward to see them. That was hilarious 😆 You floated through no less that 3 state parks and complained the whole time. Wow.
Great video! Thanks for taking us on your adventure! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you for your kind words. I also appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment.

Glad you got to exercise the canoe. As you said, it needed it. It was getting old and fat hanging in the garage, a little bit like me.
I think that she enjoyed it as much as we did. Now we need to get her owner back out on the water!
How were you able to find campsites ? Were they State or Federal land?

Have missed your videos. Did you take a break this summer?
I’ve got pretty lazy filming this summer. However I did film one canoe trip, I just have not gotten around to finish the editing. Hope to do so soon.
Hey Rick how you doing? Here in az for the winter?
Doing well. Just got back from trips to Italy, France and Mexico. Here in Lake Havasu for the rest of the winter. Where are you at in Arizona?
