Commander is very fun. But it does heavily depend on your party's composition. And it does require a bit of OOC metagaming to avoid situations where you use one of your abilities and then none of your allies take advantage of it. Using an action to allow everyone to move, and then nobody moving doesn't feel that great.
lol I'm glad but I think those were just honestly mistakes. I edited this over six sessions because I was so busy with Howl of the Wild. I guess some errors just slipped through the cracks. I'm glad it hasn't pissed people off. 👍
The problem with this is actually that the eidolon is a gigantic liability for your hp pool. They hit worse and defend worse than you at every step. I love this concept. It actually works significantly better being a summoner with the champion archetype, using you as the flanker and your eidolon as the champion. This is a great video
@@charless1145 I'm glad to hear that. It sounds like you have a brain for dissecting builds. If you want to come to the Discord channel to chat it could be fun and it would definitely be helpful for people.
The moment they mentioned commanders are cheerleaders, it reminded me of a scene in Amphibia, in which Sasha was using the flags for commanding and accidentally her cheerleader muscle memory activated 😂
I really like the idea of a hobgoblin commander. Hobgoblins have some very nice complimentary ancestry feats. I tend to only plan mounts for my small characters. As a medium mount should be playable.
I completely agree with the Hobgoblin commander. It really accentuates the theme of the ancestry. Like I can picture a Commander using Leech Clipper. And the small characters kind of need a mount to be up to the speed of everyone else. So I think those go naturally hand-in-hand.
@@WisdomCheck I just discovered your channel, and I really like your takes on Pathfinder 2e. Many of the people I've been watching are focused on RAW, but you give your opinion on how you would homebrew stuff. I really enjoy honest, filter free judgements on new pathfinder content, and how it could fit into personal campaigns.
@@bobbi477 lol I'm really glad you're here and that you like my style. I really truly tried to be like other people on RUclips and I suck at it. I can only be like myself. So I just said fuck it - I'll be me. If you have ideas that you want to share or even if you want ideas from other people you can come to the Discord if you like. No pressure, I'm just letting you know that it can be useful. The link is in the description of every video.
@@americannerdinnz Amazing how? The best most useful information Warfare Lore can give is "whether they can be reasoned with, their most notable offensive abilities, and whether one of their saving throws is particularly weak." And none of that gives information about specific weaknesses a creature may have. Warfare lore is just not that useful for recall knowledge on monsters. To give multiple chances to recall knowledge with Warfare lore just isn't that great. Now if we are talking about having four chances to recall knowledge using esoteric lore at the beginning of combat... THAT could be amazing. But mostly Commanders are not going to be multi-class archetyping into Thaums. If they do, THEN I'd agree with you.
Yeah, that's a good criticism, it needs more options to support a caster team, hope that they get good feedback (like how clunky the banner feels in some feats) to make a good correction.

Yeah I think that you have to point out the strategies out of character AND in character in order to make your character's intention clear.
Thank you for leaving in the mistakes, it shows that everyone makes them and that it's okay to have them.

You forgot to put in the linky-things again at the end.
Fuck me. Yes I did. Jesus.
Workin' on it. THANK you for telling me. 👍
Update: done. And you are awesome.
My GM only allows one peice of information per knowledge check, so getting multiple checks against the same foe would be very useful.
I think that sucks but okay yeah I totally agree it would be.

Even if your GM gives more info, this is FOUR chances to succeed/critically succeed. Could be truly amazing.

Mind controlled animal companion is generally a jerk GM maneuver, outside of a GM who does this, it never happens.
But area effect confusion is a thing.
I want to know what jerk actions there are the GMs do. Because I'm not a jerk and so I don't think of ways to f*** over people.
@@americannerdinnz THAT'S true.
Zulu warrior and hakas
Neat! I didn't know what they were called so I had to look them up. New Zealand Maori have the same kind of practice. That's a really neat feel.
I don't like commander, feels like you have to have fighter or barbarian in your team to play it.

@@nicolasvillasecaali7662 Agreed. I hope they make this more universally useful.
Yes I agree but in that case it can be quite useful. Otherwise it doesn't feel good playing the commander.
But how does it play?
