51 years later, it still sounds great!
🎶🍿😎👍🎵
The song track is an oldie but goodie from back in 1972.

Some lyrics, huh?! Just deeps and doops!! 😄
@@jeffboettcher2531 It's an instrumental, dude! 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦😠😠😠😠😠
@@dariowiter3078 I know that! Go to "The Hustle" in the 1975 Hits section, and see my Reply to them there! Kind of poking fun at them constantly posting lyrics for almost every song.
@@dariowiter3078 Many commenters on RUclips don't know the difference between the words "song" and "tune" (or melody, or …), and call everything a "song", whether there's any singing in it or not.
In Russia, the name of this song is something like, "I had pants made out of birch bark" 😅
Biggest hit song worldwide of 1972. Impressive for such sound at that time being the first electronic song to be a big hit single
Last major hit 4 the Musicor label, known 4 its numerous smashes with Gene Pitney!!
Musicor was a subsidiary of United Artists Records.
@@pbatommy It was until Art Talmadge purchased the label and it became an indie
...and The Platters and Kenny Dino!
This is the very version of _Popcorn_ most people are familiar with. The original 1969 version is not commonly heard nowadays.
SNIPPETS! I remember this song used for something back on ABC TV Saturday mornings in the early 1970s for something called Snippets. Cool tune. Sounds like an audio precursor to the "PONG" video game.
The first 20 seconds were used from about 1972-73 to 1975 by WPIX Channel 11 in New York for their Sunday morning-to-afternoon movie block (led, as it would up to the late 1980's, by an Abbott & Costello movie).
WPIX-TV Channel 11 used it up until 1976 later using some elevator type song
Popular during the late spring/early summer of 1972 here in Southern California when yours truly turned 3 and a half years old on June 30, 1972. 😁😁😁😁😁

When this came out half a century ago I kept wondering what the musical instrument was called, so I called it an electric pipe.
Perhaps that tune should be played in a theater lobby.
The B side was called At The Movies. Maybe that could be played there too.
I'm sure it is, somewhere!
This song tickles my brain!
Omg in Michigan in the late 80s, this was the song they'd use on the TV lottery drawing
Always liked that hit, Back in the early 70's Schaefer Beer commercial featured a synthesizer played by Ed Kalehoff.
Ed Kalehoff name is familiar, from Score Productions, as seen at the end of The Price Is Right credits back in the day.

You're welcome Angelique 😊.
I was that way with old Movies from the 30's and 40's that were shown on Television way back when I was around 12 and 13.
At that time most of what was on was Live.
Soap Operas were 15 minutes each. Four of them in an hour.
There was a lot of time to fill so they ran Old Movies. I loved them and always watched the Credits.
Happy times for me.

To Another Prof One of my favorite ones from 1972. Thanks for all these extras
I have the musicor 45 from ' 72
I think this song was the theme in doctor Mario on Nintendo
A version was done on RUclips by the Muppets as well. Complete with the Swedish Chef making popcorn shrimp.
Makes me want to go to the movies!
Clever label art loosely based on RCA'S artwork (1969-1975)
Ah, so this was a hit on both sides of the Atlantic
this is good ... really like the kingsley original, tho
