Very sorry that the service wasn’t as fast as it should be! This is not the standard for our service! I can only imagine that the crew might be new on the aircraft (especially since we are recruiting lots of new people for our company). This can result into slower service I suppose! I was very impressed with my one experience on Condor from Anchorage to Frankfurt back in 2007. The pilot said that he had some flex in the schedule so did a lap of Mount McKinley. I think it's great when pilots do little things like that to show their love of flying as the passengers really appreciated it. The food and service was also good on the flight.
sounds very cool, wish 16 years later pilots were able to do nice things but that is very rare.
I guess if I am about to retire and say to hell with it, I might wanna do something like that once but yeah def wish it was more often

I had this happening with Lufthansa on my Hongkong flight in 1997. The pilot told us there was something on the runway so he had to turn around. So we flew over the nearly built new airport and had a second go at Kai Tak. Probably he did it because it was to be closed soon.
I love the new liveries! They remind me of the late great Braniff's "Flying Colors" liveries which were a massive departure from the standard liveries of the time and which are still gorgeous by today's elevated design standards. I love also how they have brought the stripe theme into the cabin as well. Absolutely brilliant!
The end of the unstriped plane?
The aircraft was not cleaned because it is Ramadhan and most people do not feel like working? That excuse is untenable. I have lots of respect for diversity and multicultural societies. However, jobs should be respected not only because they provide one's pay check, but also because society expects everyone to do their bit for the human species to live in harmony. Religious beliefs and practices do not justify sloppiness, mediocrity, or failure to turn up for work. If one cannot deliver results at work, best they ask for leave or quit the job. No one is indispensable!
WOW! They can't hire non-Muslims to work in Germany, instead of people that can't observe Ramadan and work at the same time? Even though I am a Muslim woman, I find this UNACCEPTABLE.
Nothing to do with religious beliefs. I'm a Western Muslim. During my working life I worked right through Ramadan until I was getting old when I started taking my leave during the fast.
So, is it only the cleaners who are affected by Ramadhan? How about other employees? The sight of that seat is really disgusting and to me, it is evidence of the failure of Condor's quality systems.
Lol 🤣🤣 at the excuse of condor blaming Ramadan for not cleaning their planes, how pathetic and classless.
If you know you have mostly Muslim cleaners, and they take time off every Ramadan and do not plan for this ahead of time, then you have poor HR and management.
Don't blame Muslims honoring their religious obligations, multiculturalism or not.
I am not even Muslim but that excuse from that crew was pathetic and unprofessional.
Perhaps you should suggest condor sit down and make arrangements with their Muslim crew for Ramadan ..... Maybe have them take off Ramadan and then work during the Christmas holidays .... I don't know like use some common sense condor 🙄🙄🙄

I completely disagree with you here, any company should be able to manage such situations by employing casuals at short notice, or having relief staff to cover for people on leave. This is a very ugly excuse, and should not have been shared. The company should be accountable for the ugly state of their fleet, they have made enough money to cater for shortfalls. This is a failure on the company in meetings standards, nothing to do with employees decisions. I flew business with Condor from Vancouver Canada to Frankfurt. The plane was only one week old. Due to my sciatica, they upgraded me to the window at the front. It was luxury. Like a suite for myself. I am very impressed with this airline. The price was good too CA $ 3700.

Love the Condor stripes. Great example of truly innovative marketing. True Deutche Cool, rather than the typical 'ist cool, ja!' so many Germany companies try which is always a bit awkward.
Oh, and Condor is a great airline, too.
The livery reminds me of a honeybee or a candy cane... I can understand why it's polarizing but I like it. Not sure about carrying it into the cabin... maybe mute the colors a little... it's pretty loud.
In Germany, Condor's aircraft with the stripes livery got the nickname "Ringelsocke" which means in English stripy sock. Not everybody is exited about it and so I am not. I like the heritage livery more, but I admit it had been the livery when I was in my 20ies in the 1980ies and heading to Ibiza for fun. About the service, Josh got it right: The common Condor passengers are typical middle class tourists, maybe not the kind which flies Ryanair, so no drunks or guys starting the beach party already at the airport, but like he said: In their normal life, they never would have a chance to fly business class. So for this once in a lifetime, daddy opened his wallet very widely and fronted some money. Just let them have the fun. By the way, I am one of those, though my days in cramped Econmy are over; I always fly Premium Economy now. That suffices totally, though mostly the Premium Ecoonmy seats are located over the wings, blocking sight to the ground. Anyway, a great review. Keep up the good work!
Josh, we just took Condor Business from Frankfurt to Seattle. We loved the new seats, and my wife loved her extra space seat at the bulkhead, especially not having a cubbie in lie flat.
Hey Josh, since you are going to Australia, try out the Fokker 100’s that are still flying around for Alliance Airlines and Network.

Took one once from Melbourne to Canberra. Loved it! Took it many times from Brisbane to Gladstone as well.
Thank you for the video, I really enjoyed it! I had the opportunity to experience the Condor Airbus A330-900neo myself about one year ago on a flight from Frankfurt to Seattle on my way to Sacramento. While waiting at the gate to board in Frankfurt, the agents made an offer to upgrade to business class. I went forward and asked what the price difference would be from premium economy to business. When I heard the cost, I immediately said, "Ill take it!". I was very impressed with the business class seats and service. The crew was amazing! I had flown about four months prior to that flight on a Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to San Francisco and was very dissapointed with that whole experience. I am so glad that I decided to give Condor a try on my transatlantic flight!
I had a nice flight with Condor to middle America onboard of their 767-300ER. Old Cabin, very little legroom, old configuration. Even went on one of them DC-10- 30 back in the days... Every time i felt very safe with Condor, and experienced great cabin crew....👍
I like the new livery. You can also say what colors you flew on. You can try to fly them all like a collection!
I have to say that the new livery is really good and different. I would have liked to have seen the Condor Name more prevalent than it is, even if it was placed on the tail. Also it may be time for the Condor logo is changed, I understand that the connection to LH may be part of the reason BUT they’re not connected now. It’d be interesting to see if they WILL change it.
The staff took a day off ( for Ramadan ) but the issue is still on Condor for not having adequate cleaning staff available is some are on vacation or taken days off…

Honestly, same thing happened to me on flight last October business class, American Airlines flagship business class from LAX to London Heathrow. The seat look like it hadn’t even been clean. They just crossed the seatbelts and moved on. Thankfully, I’ll wait to tell myself. I’m not wanting to complain, but it was pretty gross to know that it wasn’t clean at all and God knows when the last time it was.
The problem is, there’s just not enough people willing to work for the airlines in all countries airplanes and it cost them too much to have too many people on standby
My wife is third generation American, but half German half Irish and you would be amazed how the German side chime through. They are completely all process oriented and make plans for everything from start to finish and measure everything and it’s just something you gotta get used.
Quite fascinating to see how culture is passed down across generations, even in different countries
Last year I flew with them from Palma de Mallorca in business class on their 757-300!
I love the plane and the flight didn't cause anything to change my mind about it at all.
The crew was great and friendly. Only drawback was the lack of any entertainment on the one hand, but on the other, it was the way a 757 used to be configured, so I really don't want to mark it as a complain. And it gave me many opportunities not to stare on a screen, but look outside and catch the beautiful scenery of the Alps passing below. I was reminded on a van trip a year earlier, seeing the same scenery with for wheels safe on the ground.

This Condor business class is definitely miles ahead of Lufthansa. Direct aisle access for all seats, beautiful color scheme, great food. Lufthansa has got none of that currently.

@@Jonakraemer We've only seen that in renderings so far (speaking of the 777X version of that), so let's see if they'll deliver them all when we do get to see it in real life.
@@naturallyherb Yes, that's right, but I meant the transition business class from the 787, where there is direct aisle access. The colours are of course a matter of taste and in my opinion is the food not that bad.
Lufthansa is the most overrated airline ever. Always lower quality seats than competitors in all classes, food is terrible, crew are cold and customer service is bad, even as a SEN. They rarely make any exceptions for their clients (very german thing to do). And they expect you to reach HON status or fly First Class to treat you well.
@@Martinbal126and also, Eurowings economy is similar just that they are much cheaper and sometimes are opb Avion Express or TUI. Though the TUI opf EW wet lease 738s are also quite good. Other than their lounges.
I love Condor's new striped livery - it looks so cool in my opinion! 👌The seat looked quite comfortable, though it was a shame it was not cleaned properly. I do agree the crew were quite slow at serving people, but that is something to work on in the future.

Yep, same experience here in Singapore. During fasting month a lot of people take leave/ off or are given less strenuous work duties. And the rest of us non Muslims had to pick up the slack at work . Thanks for noticing
I don't know about that ramadan topic. Yeah sure, everything does get slowed down during Ramadan (especially in muslim majority countries), but I wouldn't say it's a common thing to call in sick and avoid working. That's kinda unfair to the millions muslims working hard even during ramadan. The people I know are still doing their duties cause it is a must especially during Ramadan. I won't tell you there is no muslim calling sick or being lazy, but that's a small percentage as you have lazy people everywhere. Taking off from work as vacation is a different story, and can be challenging for companies but at the same time everybody has a right on free time. Still Condor is responsible to check even more if the plane was grounded the whole day.

It's so impressive how Condor can rise up again and again with its service. This is just a small national holiday airline but nowadays it gets so much attention worldwide. Remembering the hard times in their youngest history, neither after the bankruptcy of their former owner Thomas Cook nor during the pandemic they left their customers or partners alone, but provided extra support when they need it most. I'm so glad how lovely you talk about Condor and even if you found some critical facts, this must be a big honor to them and a kind of payback to their hard work to grow out from the last crises. Sadly, their new investor didn't just help them to modernize and founded a new sister that destroyed their good image in just one season. Hopefully they can grow out stronger from this own made crisis, too.

15:40 I have been on the A330neo from FRA to SEA and back. What I find a little discomforting is the bedding. Size is okay. But despite the topper given everybody it still felt a little hard. Maybe I am too old but I wished it would be softer. As to service I got the typical German treatment. Being a tough German too I could take it. But being a frequent visitor to the US I also like the US service a little more.

I love the new look livery. Its different and stands out from the crowd. I can see why some might not like it but i love it.
I flew condor from Frankfurt to jfk and it was better than some of the big brands I’ve flow. I was in premium economy but was treated like I was in business. The whole experience was top tier

I flew on Condor from Seattle to Frankfurt in economy premium class and it was the best flight experience I ever had. I will happily fly with them again.

Air Canada making a cameo while you’re talking about the 747 lol. Also, condors livery, certainly caught my attention. The first time I saw it in Vancouver. I was like “WTF is that”
Heading for Australia, you need to add Bonza and Nexus, Nexus being a new airline with their first flight in July 2023.
i was lucky to get an upgrade and be seated in the very front of the business class which has business premium (first?) class seats which are wider than normal business class seats. it was really great. and i even got pyjamas :D everything was super clean and new in 330neo. And the warm meal I got (I think it was the weal) was probably the best meal I've ever got on any airline.

Are gate upgrades cheaper than online or check in because once at the gate there's obviously no opportunity to visit the lounge?
I just flew Condor Business class from Frankfurt to JFK. The service was attentive and constant. As a vegetarian I could eat about 90% of the offerings without requesting a special meal. My only gripe was the boarding process. It's every man for himself.
They do free for all boarding like Southwest Airlines does?
@@mrvwbug4423 We didn't have a Gate Ramp, had to take buses to the middle of the tarmac. Special needs was loaded first. Then it was first come first served.

I love Condor, I’ve flown then 4 times in the past 23 months, no problems losing bags or cancelled flights. The cabin crews have been helpful and friendly. It’s nice not to have to connect with with other flights in order to get to Frankfurt. I can fly nonstop from PHX to Frankfurt and back.

Condor is a budget airline, 26% LH, that offers business class. They always did but I like the new version better. 👍🏼

I remember when I was a kid plane spotting at LHR ...We always looked for Condor as they were so rare back in the 70,s And I think they were a Charter airline back then?...I am sure I flew from GTW to PMI on a 707...
I personally love the livery but I can see why others don't like it. I think it's brilliant from a marketing perspective, it's a very distinctive and bold livery that makes me think of beach chairs. Everyone knows what airline it is when the plane flies by, and probably can guess where it's going

@@superultrafabulous The service was good and Premium Economy legroom was also good apart from the 6A seats which are reserved for crew rest on this flight so you didn’t have seat pockets but a pocket on the side next to the window. Security at Frankfurt AM was amazing as I was travelling with a 5 and 3 year old so we was taken to a family section and was done in less than 5 minutes. Mum and Dad very happy👍

I hadn't realized they brought the stripe design to the interior as well, what a different design but in a world of plain and simple, this stands out and it appears the service does too!

I love the look of those planes. Reminds me of the old days of Braniff International. My favorite airline of all time, which really dates me. But they were never confused with American, United, Delta, etc. As always you're kind and respectful of the crew. Great review again. Stay safe.

Well, it's certainly a striking livery. The planes remind me of an ice block called Cyclone sold out here in Oz. So much food. I wouldn't be able to eat more than the starter for dinner, there was so much. Great review as ever. Looking forward to seeing your reviews of your trips to reach us down here.

I love this livery. and you recognize it even when you only see a small part of the plane. Thats the reason why they put "condor" small on the fuselage.

Nice video and good work from you. But what I do not like is the tendency to Lufthansa bashing. Had you flown LH and found, as here with Condor, a dirty seat and a service in need of optimization (very long waiting time between meals) and in addition a main course that tastes like nothing, your criticism of the overall product would probably be significant.

Condor is a very consistent Airline. You get what you are paying for and normally it is absolut okay for leisure flights. I like them

Looks great! Some leisure carriers are often surprisingly good in terms of service.
Makes me miss my favorite leisure airline from the past: Martinair, before it became a cargo-only airline. Thanks to them I got to fly on the A310, MD-11 and 747-200. Those were some very memorable flights as a kid in the ‘90s to places like Mallorca, Antalya, Heraklion etc.
I do wonder sometimes how Martinair would be these days if they were still a leisure carrier, and perhaps not in the hands of Air France/KLM. Maybe they had gone the same path as Condor, or maybe they ended up as just another European soulless low-cost carrier.

A 60 watt USB C port? That's an instant take for me.
Many USB C ports cannot charge computers correctly because they are 15 watts. Minimum power for many laptops is 45 or even 60 watts.
And this can charge the iPhone fastest.

14:53 the fact that they cleaned it during flight was top! I have seen the last 30 years terrible things onboard whereby nothing was cleaned during flight. Adult full diaper? Wet seat full of piss? Vomit? Used diabetes needles?
I liked the livery!! Eye-catching and masterstroke was, having different colours as stripes. First time visual I had in mind was that of a king snake 😅
